Just like everyone said, it's a lot darker in person than in the model pictures. Not my most favorite piece but nice and warm on a cold, snowy day

Okay, to be fair, this poncho is a different color than in the photos. More maroon than red. But, it's fabulous. It's way oversized so when you're looking for a statement piece that cuddles you in comfyness, this is the piece to rent. 

Wore this to my early-spring engagement photo session in NYC,  and felt like a total diva! Wore the extra small, and it still had a very loose fit, which is the point of the look. I was afraid it would swallow me up (I'm only 5'3"), but looking back at the pictures, it was perfect. The fabric is nice and thick, which keeps you warm, but it's definitely not a jacket, so I wouldn't consider wearing it as outerwear in the cold. Totally work appropriate, if you work somewhere more fashion-forward. One tiny negative is that the print on the fabric is red and black, but the leather piping around the collar is brown. Hard to match leather accessories (bag or shoes) when you have both. 

I absolutely loved this cape! I loved the oversized look of it! Having shorter legs it definitely looked best styled with some sort of heels. I had so many compliments on it wearing it out and about. The fabric is thick and weighty but it wasn't scratchy or itchy at all. Really comfortable! 
I'm usually a 2/4 in size when ordering from Rent the Runway, but with this being an oversized cape, I sized down to the extra small. You are basically swimming in fabric so sizing down made it not look too much like I was wearing a blanket. Such a neat piece! I wore it with leggings but I also wore it with jeans, booties and my hair up for a super casual feel. This cape made my casual look pretty spectacular! Definitely recommend this cape! 

Oversized fit. Could have gotten away with an xsmall. Felt stylish. The leather trim was a maroonish- felt like it didn't really match, but not overly noticeable. 

Runs large! Definitely size one to two sizes down in this sweater - I am typically a size 4, wore a Small and would've definitely preferred the XS fit. This will still keep it's oversized look, even when you size down, so don't worry about losing any of the style when choosing your size. Overall, this is an easy way to elevate your look in a super comfortable, effortless way. I chose to pair this with jeans and boots, but this can also be dressed up a bit with a hat, leather boots and chunky bracelets!


I know ponchos are large by nature, so I gave it a go but it's just not doable for a short girl. So comfy though so I wore it all around the house! The color is definitely darker too though, I expected a vibrant red and it was almost maroon/purple it was so dark. 

This runs big - really big.  Usually wear a M, so I ordered the small, but should have gone with the extra small. The color is more of a rust color in person rather than the red it photographs as.  Super comfy and perfect for brunch and the movies with friends, but returning early as it is not flattering at all. 

This poncho is so fun and comfortable. It is big which I liked. It is a nice warmth to wear as a jacket on a warmish winter day.

Used it for several weeks just to throw on and go out . Very week made. Great transition coat.

I wore this everywhere! I looooooved it and debated buying it and held off because the item I was sent was more worn than I had liked. Also, not very much white color as shown in the online pics.

Great for travel, it's my serape sweater that moves fluidly. Want to buy!

This jacket is super cute and very luxurious looking. It does run very large, so I suggest that every body who rents it to size down. I love the look of an over size jacket or sweater. It is a little itchy but a long sleeve sweater solved that issue.  

Really cute pattern, but it swallowed me and I'm pretty tall. You could definitely see some wear and tear on the item as well.

This is such a warm piece! I threw it over a tight black long sleeved shirt with black leggings and boots.

Such a great look that you can dress up or down.  I wore it to work with some boots and all black and it was such a hit at the office.  I recommend going down a size as this is such a large piece.

Rented the small per suggestion but could have still got smaller. Great fall/winter though. Still loved it.

I really liked the pattern of this oversized poncho. I am a size 6 and usually wear a medium. After reading previous reviews, I decided to order this in a small, and could have gotten away with an extra small. I'm 5'7 and this went almost to my knees. The material is thick and stiff, you will be warm in the covered areas. 

The overall color is darker than the photo shown. 

Loved the design, fit was loose but thats expected. Did look a little worn but overall loved it!

Really comfortable and warm. But it runs so huge! I wore it as a teacher and styled it very similar to the picture. My students didn't really understand what I was wearing...and neither did I! I loved the pockets and the movement of the piece. It was just too large. 

Nice, oversized sweater to run around town in. Runs VERY large. I'm usually a 10 and wish I had ordered a small.  

Definitely runs large. I'm usually a small, but the x-small almost swallowed me. That was the look I was going for, though. The fabric is very thick and it pills a bit, but I got compliments on it all night. It was hard sending this one back.

It's like wearing a blanket all day - perfect for lounging on a cold, winter day...or standing out at a casual party with just a little something unusual. Very heavy, almost burst the RTR garment bag. Nice pattern and details (buckles, edging), subtle colors, great condition.

I really loved the funky look of this poncho and got a ton of compliments wearing it! The pattern is not quite as vivid as in the picture - the red & pink hues are a little darker. It runs huge so I suggest sizing down 1-2 sizes. I'm a Small/Medium and an XS was the generous fit you'd expect of a poncho without being overwhelming! Definitely a comfy standout piece.

It's big and comfy. I felt like an Olsen twin in it!

I thought an oversized poncho would be cute but this goes past oversized. It was like I was wearing a blanket, and I had no use for it.

The color on my screen is very different than what it looked like when I received it. 

I tried wearing this, but my boyfriend asked if I was wearing a bath mat. 

I was very excited for this poncho. I ordered a size down based on other reviews but when the poncho arrived it was so incredibly large it looked like a giant wool sack! I would suggest to order 2-3 sizes down! The colors are also very very muted compared to the image online, and the one I received looked worn and pilled. I immediately sent it back the same day. Bummer!

This is WAAAAAAAAY too big for a petite person.  Maybe I should have known, but it looked like I was wearing a giant blanket.

I got this with my unlimited subscription and immediately sent it back. The size was way too large (even for something that is supposed to be an oversized fit) and the whole thing was just way too bulky. I thought this would be a good jacket for the mild winter we're having up north, and to pack with me for Christmas down south, but it just takes up so much luggage space and is so huge for how little warmth it provides that it just doesn't make sense. Also, the fabric is mostly synthetic and is very scratchy - doesn't feel good to wear at all.
