I rented this for a casual open tie charity event and it was perfect. I was looking for a striking sophisticated look, and this nailed it. I could've gone a touch smaller but then it may not have fit on top but I wrapped the belt twice and it worked great. I wore spiky neutral heels and it was perfect. The dress could work for almost anything, I love it! 

One of the reasons I love RTR is that I can try dresses I would typically never wear! This dress is super unique and something I would have never thought to try on in store. In my opinion it's made for girls who are tall, straight and narrow- I'm tall, but not so narrow...I have a little hip, and it kind of pulled in a weird way as the fabric has zero give. The top was almost roomy, so I don't think a size up would help but maybe I'll try that next time. The collar is a nice feminine touch, and the belt can be worn tied in the front,  back, or side. There is a front slit in the skirt which allows for movement when you walk. It wrinkles fairly easily but was easy to flatten out with a steamer. 

Loved the look of this dress with the long length and ruffled collar. The fabric has zero give therefore making it extremely difficult to get off. I actually needed someone to help me pull it off. Due to the thin material it wrinkles a lot but the good thing is the stripes hide 
them.

Gorgeous dress, very fine silk material and the stripe pattern is extremely flattering.  The collar and zipper top give it a French flair and keep it from feeling too corporate.

Tight through hips. Light silk material. Beautiful but not my style.

The dress fits very tight on the hips, very weird fit overall. 

Let me first admit that I've never worn nor apparently, seen up close, a Nina Ricci item. If you're like me, be aware that her name is (tastefully, I guess) all over this dress; written in tiny script over and over in some of the stripes. Additionally, as others have noted, it has zero give. I'd ordered the largest size, equivalent to a 10, which I wear easily in other brands and couldn't even get it over my hips. I would also like to note that the collar doesn't stand up the way it does on the model. Clearly, some finagling by the stylists to get that collar volume. I think this would look great on someone smaller than me, certainly the other women in the photos look fantastic.

I failed to zoom in and look at detail. This dress was so far from my style when I saw it in person. If you have hips, go up a size. Western looking detail on chest and Nina Ricci logo all over it. 

Could barely get over my hips. Arm sleeves run small too.

This dress has 0 stretch and while it fit over my big old post partum butt, I was 100% sure one bend and I was going to split it. 

This is super cute on the hanger and the material was nicer than I was expecting. I was excited to wear it to work but it didn't fit at all. I don't think sizing up would have mattered. You need to have no hips and a larger chest for this to fit right. I am the opposite of that! Very awkward on my body. *sad face*

The dress was pretty but super narrow. I have hips and the dress didn't fit at all. Definitely check the measurements before renting. I should have!

I'm a curvy person (30e-26-33) and this fit like a sac in the middle and too tight in the hips. It was also missing the belt when it arrived, which may have made it better. The fabric was also a static bomb and clung in an unflattering way. Would not recommend unless you're tall, thin, and "straight and narrow."

 Don't do it unless  ur straight and narrow, which I thought I was!!!

The dress was adorable I just was bummed it didn't fit me what so ever. Very odd sizing for this. I think you have to be very stick thin to pull this look off.
