I am 5’2” 145 lbs. 8R was a little long but fine with a 3 inch heel. 

I usually wear a 12, but went up a size because boobs and belly, but wow, this dress fit like a glove.  I wore spanx underneath because I am paranoid of VPL and kooky bulges everywhere, but this dress fit amazing.  It was a perfect length, even with heels and I received compliments all night.  Sorry the picture does not show more of the fit, but I have no full length mirrors in my house.

This dress fit nicely- it was easy to wear (no bra issues, etc), and flattering. It is a forgiving dress and would look nice on most people. Its a good dress to rent  because it is really no-fuss so you dont have to run out and buy new undergarments and shoes. I even wore flats because the dress is long and you can't see your shoes! Im short (5'3") and I was not tripping over the dress. I will say that it is not a show-stopper: basically no one commented on my dress. However, I certainly felt that I looked nice and I was quite comfortable and able to dance all night! 

I loved the fit of the dress but the regular length was too short for me (5'6") in heels. I ended up wearing my usual size with lower heels. Really comfortable, classy dress. Would rent again and get the longer length. 

I am a 0 in JCrew, but was nervous the 0 would fit me. It did! Phew!

I wore my normal size and was able to wear a normal strapless bra with it. I felt glamorous wearing it.

I did not have the best experience with this dress, but that was more my fault than the dress's.  First of all, not the best dress for a party where you are dancing a lot.  It is heavy, and it was long for me - I am 5'4", I ordered the 2R, and I wore 2 inch heels.  Higher heels probably would have solved the problem, but I didn't have any so I resorted to hem tape.  It was my first time trying the tape, and it was a terrible idea.  I was still tripping on the dress while dancing, and even worse, the tape was getting stuck to my heels so I had to keep pulling it off.  Embarrassing and uncomfortable.  I don't think I will be renting floor length dresses anymore!  Or maybe I will if there is a petite size.  As for a bra - I tried the dress on with a strapless bra and it was pretty well hidden, but I decided to buy the strapless, backless "bra", which are actually adhesive cups.  They worked, although I kept wanting to adjust them all night.  If you have a perky busom you will be fine with nothing, but mine is drooping due to nursing three kids.  To end on a positive note, it is a beautiful and comfortable dress, the black and navy contrast is interesting.

Gorgeous gown, very well made, good quality.  Very fitted from bust to hips, wish I had ordered the size 8 to try on.  The length was perfect and a great dress for dancing because it is fuller from the knees down.  Loved the RTR experience, the dress arrived a day early, ready to wear!  I'm already looking for another event to rent a dress.  

Absolutely beautiful dress, it fit so well to all of my body and wasn't too long. It was really comfortable to wear throughout the entire night. 

This gown is absolutely stunning.  I generally wear a 4-6, but, like all of the Monique Lhullier dresses I've worn, I fit a 2.  The dress fits like a dream, though larger-busted ladies may struggle a bit--it is quite snug in the chest.  As other reviewers have said, this dress is tricky to get into by yourself, but it is doable.  It was comfortable and I received compliments all night.  This dress made me feel gorgeous--I was sad to have to return it.  Absolutely felt at home on the red carpet.   One final note--it does show the shape of any undergarments, so boned corsets/bulky bras may not be ideal with this gown.  

Very comfortable. Dress fit and ran true to size. I am glad I had ordered the long as I was wearing about a 3 inch heel and wanted it to sweep the floor.

I loved the fit of this dress.  I usually wear a size 6 but requested the 8 as a back up and glad I did!  It just gave a little more room in the fitted bust to hips that made it more comfortable. The length was nice with heels and the bottom of the dress had a very nice sway to it without being too heavy. I wore a strapless bra and it was completely hidden, even with the lower back cut. 

The dress was very comfortable and form fitting in the right places. Very elegant dress. I'm 5'4" and the Petite was a little short. I ordered it because regular wasn't available. I wore a lower heel than I would normally wear and it wasn't bad. Overall loved the dress!

Super satisfied with my first RTR experience and this dress! I needed a long gown for a black tie wedding and was nervous about the length but the dress fit perfectly. A bit heavier material, but was still able to dance the night away without being too hot. Didn't even need to wear a bra with it! Highly recommend for a fall/winter wedding. Super comfortable and so many compliments!

The 4R fit me perfectly and the length was great with just a few inches of heels. The stones on the top of the dress are a bit loose but nothing too apparent since its all black lace on the top and navy for the body of the dress. If you're looking for something fitting but very comfortable, I highly recommend it!

This was the perfect dress for a black tie wedding. Many other women were wearing gowns and it was fun to feel glamorous even though I'm not sure when I will have a similar occasion. This dress has just the right amount of bling and the midnight blue felt like a great evening choice. I might have gone up a size even though I ruled out the 8P which would normally be too big. The 6P fit but JUST. The 4 ( which is a size I regularly wear) would not have been even close!  Next time will pay better attention to measurements!

Loved this dress, it was very flattering and elegant, perfect for the fundraising gala I attended.

Fits well. Dress has a flattering shape - curves around hips and thighs. Works with regular strapless bra. Length was just skimming the floor with 3" heels. 

I rented this as an option for a Black Tie gala at a museum. I ended up not wearing this one because I liked my other option better, but this was still a lovely dress.  The elegant detail on top, and small back cut out added some nice flair and a sexy touch, without being over-the-top sexy for my formal event.

I got the size 2R, and it fit ok, just a little loose at the hips and in the bust (because I don't have much of a bust... a 0R would have been better, but just so you size 0's know- you can still pull off a 2 if they're out of that size ;)
With my 4" heels this gown hit the ground perfectly. The flowing skirt looks beautiful when you walk, and the material on the inside is so buttery soft and comfortable like silk or chiffon.

This dress was for a formal event and I was looking for a good combination of professionalism/conservative and eye-catching and I think this dress was perfect for that. The heels that I wore were about 4" and the dress was just long enough to make it not look too awkward, but perhaps a 2L would've been better. The dress is very flattering, lays wonderful, is extremely comfortable (I was afraid the lace would be itchy under the arms), and highlights the collar bone and upper back wonderfully. I loved this dress and received so many compliments throughout the night.

The dress was a little long, but totally doable in minimal heals.  I was concerned it would be too tight in the hips but it fit like a glove (in a good way!). My hips are 38"

Overall, fit was great, though it was surprisingly long! I wore the 2R, and I'm 5'4.5", and I still needed 4.5" heels to keep the dress from dragging! I am small-chested and was able to go without a bra as the top was fairly fitted and structured. Great, classic choice for a formal affair!

Loved this dress. I usually wear a 0-2 and I rented a 2 and a 4. The 2 fit great! 

Both the 4R or 6R would have worked well.  The 4R fit a bit more snugly and shapely.  The 6R gave a bit more breathing room though.  I wore the 4R as it hugged nicely and left less gaps and wrinkly areas in my midsection.  The back lent itself to a strapless bra well.  Overall, the most comfortable evening gown I've worn in a long time!  I felt that it was striking and therefore received many compliments.  

Not too flashy, fit conservatively in the front but hat a hint of sexy with the back detail. Perfect for a winter wedding.

I'm 5'8" but I have a longer torso.  Because of my longer torso, the dress bunched around my waist a bit where most people's hips would .  However, after a few minutes, the dress stretched out just a touch and fit perfectly.  The material is not stiff, but is sturdy.  I wore a low back strapless bra, but could have gotten away with not wearing a bra.  I have curvier hips compared to my upper body and I felt like the dress created a pretty hour glass shape.  The dress was the perfect length with super short heels (almost flats)

Loved this dress. Much heavier than you would think though. Definitely glad I ordered the long and probably could have gotten away with the 8l. the 6l was fitting with more room in some places than others. Was complimented all night. Felt like a million bucks. Only complaint is, on the drive home from the wedding, the hook and eye on the lace part fell off. Just thankful it happened then and not on the dance floor. 
There was a bit of a snag with my order at the last minute but RTR made their best efforts to make it right. Wound up not being as big of an issue as anticipated and everything worked out very well. 

Fit nicely, very comfortable and really slenderized my figure. Super classy dress. Beading was a little  worn in some areas but overall nice dress.


Loved the dress - it does fit tight, but is a dark color and thick fabric so you feel comfortable wearing it. I'm a 34DD and was able to comfortably wear without a bra during dancing. The dress is tight enough for no bra, but also doesn't give you the flat boob look.  I wore a 2" heel and the regular length fit perfect, I was also able to wear flats and the dress didn't get in my way. 

The 0 was snug and I ended up going with it because the 2 was wrinkled from shipping. I was glad I wore the 0, it ended up feeling great the whole night. The length was great with high (4+ in) heels.

Fitted but not too tight. Breathable! Perfect for a black tie event. Classy, comfortable and the back gave it a little edge. 

I'm 5'2" so this dress was really long on me, even in heels. But the fit was great and super comfortable. The dress had a nice subtle almost a-line flare that made the overall shape look great, and made dancing fun! 

The dress was true to size. This was sent to me when my first choice gown was too large and I had ordered the larger size as a back up. RTR talked me through their website to pick a different gown. We found this one and it was perfect. They shipped it overnight and it arrived the day of the gala. It was glamorous with beautiful beading details on the top. It was not heavy or too long. I am 5 ft 7 and wore 3 inch heels. It was my first experience with RTR. 

Fit very well! Really comfortable material that doesn't wrinkle very easily, so I could sit, move etc like I wanted all night. True to size. The opening in the back adds something interesting without being overwhelming, and the thick shoulders make it stay on while dancing. :) I did have to wear a stick on bra b/c the opening goes right around where a bra would. 
 Runs a little long though. I'm only 5'3" but with big heels it still was long. 

This dress was unbelievably comfortable for the black tie symphony event I attended with my husband (he loved the back of this dress so much). Whether we were sitting, standing, walking, or eating, I was happy because I knew I looked amazing and I was sure that dress fit perfectly - unlike a strapless, I wouldn't be adjusting it all night. The black and blue is subtle in dim lighting, but the sparkle was just enough to make people look twice. I was wearing 4" heels, so I ordered the long; I could have gone with the regular length and been just fine.

I an about 5'5" and I wore wedges, It would have been way too long without the heals, but with it was perfect and it made dancing at prom fun and easy. Caution that if you want a thin light dress this is not it. The fabric is a thicker fabric but it is not too tight or heavy. I enjoyed wearing it!

When I ordered the dress, there was no 0R. So, I rented the 0L. Not bad, just too long. The other size I got was 2R but it was too big and there was a ripped seam just under the zipper. Loved it overall! No one had the same dress as me for prom! Definitely renting again in the future! Worth it!!
