The fit was great.  I'm a B cup and a straight or ruler body type.  The dress gave me an amazing waistline but somehow wasn't tight at all.  Magic!  
My husband loved it and his grandma told me I looked "darling"...which is about the best compliment you can get from a grandma, in my opinion. 

First time using RTR so I went with a dress that would be an easy fit.  Dress is a little tight up top but still went with the smaller size.  Loved the pockets and such a cute shape.  Will definitely be using this site again!

The dress was made so well and seemed quite expensive with the velvet accents.  I wore it for a bridal tea and rehearsal dinner for a winter wedding and got many compliments throughout the day/night. I would definitely rent this dress again!

gorgeous. I'm 32b, 120lbs, 5'2". The 38 was too tight in the chest and squished my boobs in a weird way. The 40 was a tiny bit loose but a padded bra made it perfect. The length was was just right and the pockets were fantastic. I wish this dress was mine to keep!!! I wore it with nude platform pumps and a red lip-it needed no other accessories. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this again! This was my first RTR experience and it couldn't have been easier, I was super impressed!!

I ordered this dress for an art deco wedding. When I looked at it in the model photo and in the customer photos it appeared to have an overlay that had the design. That is not the case. For lack of a better description this dress is like wearing a super thick brocade curtain. With that said, I loved it! It goes well with any color metallic and is classy and feminine. The lower neckline added a sexy element to an otherwise girly dress.  The bottom hem is raw, which is kind of weird, but also kind of fun. I ordered the 38 and 40. The 38 looked great from the waist down but was so tight up top my boobs looked smashed and ridiculous. The 40 fit perfectly all over. Overall RTR experience was great! Highly recommend.  

There isn't much room in the chest area, so if you are busty (which I am not) you might want to go up a size. I have a very small rib cage and waist and it was actually small enough for me, which rarely happens! The pockets were also great! Length was short, but not so much that I felt uncomfortable. Highly recommend!

I'm pretty petite so take that into consideration when reading this review. This dress ran large on the top sides, but since it's black you couldn't tell unless you looked for it. It photographed well and had a really nice rich pattern to it. The material is a bit thicker so wouldn't be good in heat. It was perfect for an indoor, formal wedding. It has silver tones so I recommend silver jewelry. It would be a great travel dress. I had it balled up and it had absolutely no wrinkles. 

I'm a 28DD/34B. If you're much bigger than that I'm guessing the cleavage would be a little smushed. 

I'm 4' 9 1/2" so it hit just a little longer than I would've liked, but I wore 5 inch Jimmy Choos with it to add some height. 

This dress was great for dancing the night away yet appropriate for the church ceremony! loved it!

The dress may be a little more loose than I'd like it to fit, but I loved the frame.  I love the peplum bottom and the v neck collar.  The whole thing pulled together beautifully! I was even able to wear my new shoes from Nordstrom with them!

As I had read in other reviews, the top was definitely tight. I have an average size chest (C) but my waist is tiny so the size 40 was too baggy in the mid-section. I ended up going with the 38.  Even though it was tight on my chest, it was still very comfortable and didn't appear to be too tight.  The length was great for someone like me with short legs and fell a few inches above the knee. Definitely a great dress, but be sure to wear silver jewelry because there are some silver tones to the dress.

Wore this dress to a company party--fits snug under the bust so I sized up to the size 40. Can be dressed up for a formal affair, or down for a night out. Would recommend for anyone with a pear shape, petite, or hourglass. Really great option! Could also easily be paired with tights and shoes for winter! 

I wore this for a fancy dinner to celebrate my 21st birthday and I absolutely LOVED it. I would definitely recommend it for girls who are a similar size to me- I thought the length was just right, and the top flattered my small chest (something that doesn't happen for me too often). The only con I can even think of is that the fabric doesn't have a lot of give and was mildly constricting at times. Wish I didn't have to return it!

I wore this to a wedding rehearsal dinner in Napa and couldn't have been more pleased. It was short, but since it belled out and wasn't tight it didn't feel that way at all. Super comfortable, and I loved the exposed zipper on the back. You can never go wrong wearing a LBD, but the print and different fabrics made this extra fun and flirty.

I ordered an 8 since that usually fits best for my pear shape but the bodice was way to big for me. I pinned it on both sides to make it fit and it worked great. I probably would have done better with a size 42 or 40. But I still loved it!

The full skirt and fitted bust really makes this dress fun and unique. It is very fitted in the chest so sizing up for any bust size larger than a B is key. The detail is amazing making this the perfect party dress.

this dress was sooo beautiful for a winter wedding! very comfortable! i'm only 5'2 so i didn't find this dress to be too short by any means, it was a few inches above my knees and longer than my finger tips. the material was nice & think and comfy! the v neck however is VERY low cut! the top was small too (fit me well but i'm an A-cup) i wouldn't recommend this dress for anyone with larger boobs! alsooooo THE DRESS HAS POCKETS!

Loved that this dress was fitted in the torso (best for small bust) and then comfortable in the waist.  My husband loved it and I would rent it again.

I wore this dress to an awards dinner at the Waldorf Astoria as a YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund recipient. I loved the texture and how it really allowed the design to pop!  I felt it had just the right amount of chic sophistication and fun that I was looking for.  I wanted to keep it dressy, but add some personality to it so I wore black tights and ankle booties.  After reading reviews I was a little unsure what size to get considering some said it ran small and others said it ran large, but only had one option so I went for it.  It fit well and the band at the natural waist was comfortable for sitting at dinner, although it was a little roomy up top for me. Overall, I would say it was pretty true to size, as for me they evened each other out. I just made sure to keep a good posture throughout the night and not only did it help with any tiny issues up top, it looked better in photos too! Would CERTAINLY rent again!!! 

I loved the fabric and the detail on this dress and it was really beautiful!  BUT it was made for someone who has literally no bust!  I felt a little self-conscious throughout the night because my boobs were smashed up against me and it was a little uncomfortable.  I really would not recommend this dress for anyone larger than B's.  Other than that, it really is a gorgeous dress and I got many compliments!

I wore the dress to a friend's black tie wedding, and I loved it! Got tons of compliments all night, and the best part is that the dress has pockets! 

This dress is beautifully made and the fabric is rich and textured. The fitted top and full skirt makes this a great fit for body types like mine (with a smaller top-half, larger bottom-half). I typically wear a size 2 in tops but size 4 pants/skirts, so I am very comfortable in this fit. The one thing I will note is that the dress is very tight in the bust. Even though I am pretty small in this area, the dress had a slightly odd compression effect across the bust.... the waist and straps fit perfectly, but I can't imagine the darts in the bust area would be sufficient for anyone much above an A-cup. 

It didn't fit me the best in the bust area, but i just used some fashion tape to make sure no one could see my bra. Other than that the dress fit great! It was so comfortable and I got lots of compliments on it. And it has POCKETS!

I was the maid of honor in a wedding, and the bride requested that we wear black dresses with red shoes. I tried on several options at the RTR showroom (definitely recommend a visit!)  The ceremony was outdoors in November so I was aiming to find something with long sleeves.  I was surprised (and thrilled!) to like this the best.  Though it's obviously sleeveless, the fabric is beautiful and thick which makes it more appropriate for fall (we also lucked out with unseasonably warm weather that day!)  The dress is slightly shiny and the pattern is gorgeous -- a fun, surprising change from a plain old LBD.  My only complaint is how much the skirt flares out.  Because the fabric is so thick, that flare will not be tamed.  And it's pretty short so be careful on the dance floor!

This dress was a great fit, however I agree with other reviews that state the bust is a bit restricting if you're over a B-cup.  The size 42/6 wasn't available, or I would have rented as my back up - though I think that it would have ended up being too large in the waist.  It's a perfect weight material for fall, and the pattern is more beautiful in person.  

I LOVED this dress! It was absolutely gorgeous in person! The only problem was that it was tight through the bust area (and loose through the waist). It squished me flat! I had read in other reviews that it might not be good for large busted women...I don't necessarily consider my self "large busted" at a 34 C but it was definitely too tight! For smaller busted women this is an amazing dress! I really can't even come up with words that would begin to describe my passion for this dress! OH! And pockets!! Hello! Huge bonus! Also, side note, I am only 5 feet tall and where as the picture may look like it was a little long (chalk it up to weird angle!), the dress hit just above my knees which is where I prefer a dress to fall. I was bummed when I couldn't wear this but was also glad I had a back up dress ordered that worked out just fine! Brilliant, Rent the Runway, brilliant! 

As the other reviews mentioned the top is VERY fitted and would notwork with larger bust size.  The material and pattern is nice (more then basic black).  The puffy skirt may have not been the best to give me the illusion of height (i'm just 5'1).  In general it appeared more 'curvy' on me then on the model.  All and all it worked well and the overall experience from RTR was great - I had it shipped to my hotel and returned in the next day (no lugging on a flight). 

This would have been the best LBD if I had a smaller chest. It was the perfect length and I loved the fabric, which was thick and forgiving to any flaws. Unfortunately, the top doesn't allow for much in the chest department. I thought I could get away with it because I'm only a C cup, but it was definitely tight. Not too tight that I couldn't wear it, though! All in all, a good rental, but probably wouldn't rent again. 

I really like the detail of this dress - more than just your typical LDB.  I also loved the fit; however, it was a little bit tight in the chest area.   Normally, I don't have this problem since I am small chested so if you are large chested, this might not be the dress for you.  

This was actually my backup style, but it fit perfectly and was also very comfortable. The pockets are perfect, and with the shape of the skirt you don't even notice them. I got tons of compliments on them.

Wore this dress to a friend's NYE wedding. The top was pretty tight (I am a 32D/34C) so I ended up wearing the size 40. You can wear a standard bra with this dress, so that was nice. I got many compliments on the dress. The material is thick and high quality, and I loved the exposed zipper in the back. I am about 5'3 and the dress landed about 3-4 inches above my knees.

I'm typically a size zero but I wore the size 2 (size 40 instead of size 30) it runs small although the top part is kind of not fitted on me because I don't have that much boobs even if I wore a padded bra. overall it's a cute rental, I wore it to a funeral (daytime, summer). 

Great dress! Fits tight in the bust if you're larger than probably a B cup. Pretty short but perfect for petite girls! I would rent again!

This dress was perfect for a winter wedding! The material was thicker than normal, so it was not too light and not too heavy. I'm 5'2, and I wore a size 38. I would say that this is definitely for small-chested girls, and I would not recommend it to those with larger chests. I'm 5'2, and the dress fell right above my knee with 4 inch heels, so it's appropriate for all heights. I got great compliments on this dress all night! I wish I could afford to buy it for myself! Would definitely recommend!

I loved this dress –it is beautiful, fun and sexy (but classy). It is short and the neckline is low-cut but it was not at all inappropriate. I did have to use “chicken cutlets” but it worked out because the top part of the dress is fitted and holds everything in place. 

I wore this dress for my senior year homecoming and it fit perfectly! I was nervous as to what size would fit, but the 38 fit like a glove! I am a 32B and it fit very nicely in the bust. I feel this dress works with someone with a smaller bust. It wasn't too long and wasn't to short. Also, it has pockets!!! Overall, the dress fit perfectly and I have no complaints!

I wore this dress for a cocktail gala.  This dress is beautiful yet fun and I don’t believe the photos do the fabric justice.  The fabric is a high quality shimmery silver brocade with velvety accents.  As the other reviews said, the top does run very small and the v-neck is very low.  I ordered a 40 and a 42 and had to wear the larger size for room in the bust (I am a 34C).  I am 5’1” and the dress fell about 3 - 4 inches above my knees which was the perfect length for me.  Even though the top was very small, I loved this dress and would buy it if I could. 

So pretty, but wow the top was tight! I am 34A and can't imagine how anyone with a bigger chest could fit in it. I still wore it to the event, but I would have been more comfortable one size up. 

It was a great length on me, not too short or long, just the right amount of sexy.  The waist sat a tiny bit high on me, because of my long legs - but it still worked out okay.

Fit me true to size. I am small busted and the front was cut a little low, but was fine. I have hips, so had to tug a bit to get the dress over them but it fit perfectly once it was on. The larger size was too big. 

The dress was beautiful, the only down fall that it had an extremely small bust area, I could not wear a bra with this dress and it smashed my chest. I could hardly breath. I also had gotten the size 42 for back up but that dress fit like a large.
