Loved this dress but found it just a bit too tight in the hips. I was able to move well but if you carry more weight in your lower half, I'd suggest sizing up 

Neck line appears plunging, but it has a Caucasian-nude colored panel about mid sternum. I did go without a bra because my bra had a bow in the center that showed if you looked down my cleavage. 

There was no stretch in the fabric, beautiful embroidery though

Not enough to say about this! Fit like a glove and was so form flattering. Just the right amount of cleavage. It was so perfect for a black tie wedding. 

I loved wearing this dress. Stunning embroidery, beautiful details, gorgeous mermaid skirt, very well constructed. 
It is VERY fitted through the hips, no give at all in the material, I had to wear 2 layers of spanx to fit into it. I used bra inserts and lots of double sided tape to fill out the top. I would get an 8 if I had to wear again. 

Such a lovely gown! Very flattering. It was a bit too short for me, tight around the rib cage and hips even with sizing up. I still wore it out and received compliments ;) 

This is gorgeous. It's tight enough that you don't need a bra, but if you want one, it needs to be a low-back one for the pseudo lacing in back. It would have been better if I wore stillettos, but I had a lot of walking around the Guggenheim to do for an event in October. Wore it with a little pashmina. 

I absolutely loved how this dress looked on me. Although I selected “just right”, I will say that it was fairly tight around my hips and butt. This dress has little to no stretch, so if you’re curvy I highly recommend sizing up and reading through others reviews. Overall though I was very happy with this dress and got lots of compliments!

I didn’t end up wearing this but was so tempted! It was a beautiful fabric and fit. So fun! Will rent in the future.

I’ve been eyeing this dress for months and finally decided to try it. The dress is beautiful, but as the other reviews describe it can be tight and loose in different spots. I tried a 0 and a 2, I have previously been a 0 in a marchesa notte dress. The hips were very snug in both and the shoulders/straps a bit loose. I am still considering wearing it to the wedding I am attending, because it is so pretty, but I wish it fit a bit better. 

Worked perfectly for a black tie optional in a garden setting. Lots of compliments and fit great! 

It hugs your curves in all the right places/ways. I did use fashion tape to make sure the chest stayed in place and to avoid any accidents since I’m on the smaller chested side. It is not very stretchy, but it was comfortable to dance all night in and sit to eat dinner. I got a ton of compliments on it and would definitely consider renting again!

I sized up to leave room in the hips as suggested by others but fortunately arrived early and when I tried on the 4 and 6 the top half fit poorly so requested a 2 and that fit reasonably well. A good length for me to wear with heels but could still take shoes off to dance and wasn’t too long. 

I joined RTR to wear Marchesa! IIRC, the runway version of this dress has 3D butterflies and more poof along the bottom but this is a colorful ensemble that looks so good from the front (a plunge and neckline) and the back (lace up corset tie). The stitching ended up being a bit rougher and not as refined as I imagined it would be, but maybe that’s a mark of the notte line. It’s still stunning and high fashion either way.

I love this dress. My usual size is 4 but I wore the 6 because this dress is tight in the hips. I received a lot of compliments on it. 

Beautiful dress, but not a great fit for me. The 6 would barely zip past my hips/butt, but it fit well up top. I wore the 8 so I could comfortably sit down and dance, but the top was a bit loose. Wouldn't recommend if you have a big butt/hips but aren't very busty.

I loved the look of this dress but it was not right for me. 
I ended up ordering three sizes up to get it zipped and then the shoulder straps were too long and all of my chest was out. 
It’s beautiful but I think longer waisted women who are more slender up top would look great in it.

I’m usually a size 6 and I BARELY got into a size 10. I got so many compliments but there is zero give to the cut / fabric. Loved it but sizing is way off. 

Wore Size 8, size 6 typically, Not a great dress for late summer early fall, really anytime where it is hotter than 75. Fits great on legs and booty, loved that--- however, have broad shoulders and a small bust (36b) and the top was gaping while bottom was snug. Lots of compliments though, it really is a beautiful dress, just not best fit for my body. 

The dress fit so perfectly! I sized up 1 size. I am 5’4 & dress was not too long. Highly recommend 

This dress is so beautiful but was too stiff for my curves. To get the dress to fit in the hips I’d need a size too large for my chest/torso. 

As others have said, the fit is a bit tight, and there’s no give to the fabric. I usually wear a 12, sometimes a 10, but needed 14 for this one. It was hard to get the neckline to lay flat. But fit was great, I felt very pretty in it and others said I was glowing!

Ordered this dress as a short-term rental for a wedding. Based on other reviews, I sized up for both my regular and backup size, and I’m glad I did! The 4 fit my chest well, but was snug around the hips. The 6 was a little large on my chest, but was the more comfortable option overall.

I loved this dress, but it was too tight. There was no stretch and size 6 would be too big in the chest. Wish it worked.

I would suggest sizing up if you have a booty, it’s on the tighter side but still felt comfortable in it, I was ok with it being tighter on my boobs because it held them up without a bra. Would say if you don’t have hips or a booty then true to size. I tried to wear spanks under this, but there’s no way you don’t need it with this dress It holds everything in.

I have never felt so confident and beautiful as a wedding guest. I got so many compliments. I opted for a size 8 to accommodate a larger chest, but if you’re smaller on top, go with your regular size. The side zipper was a little difficult, so make sure you have someone available to help zip you in :) Great length with medium height heels. No bra needed because of the excellent support in the dress. A perfect find.

Like most Marchesa dresses, this one has little give but the floral stitching makes it so beautiful. I’d def size up or be comfortable with being uncomfortable! (Def tighter through the hips)

I rented this dress for a night at the opera because I loved the style (and I love embroidery), but was concerned about whether it would fit given the lack of stretch.  I was pleasantly surprised to find it fit perfectly, worked well without a bra, and was comfortable.  The length would have been a little short, but since my feet get mad when I wear heels these days, it was fine with flat sandals.   

I wore this to a summer black tie wedding, and it was absolutely perfect. The fabric, cut, and embroidery detail feel luxe, and I felt so beautiful. I found it to be a little tight on the hips where I’m curvier but still completely wearable and comfortable for sitting and dancing. It’s about ankle length rather than fully floor length. 

Wore this to a gala and got so many compliments! I was nervous I wouldn’t be able to sit or bend in it, but was able to do all of that and even carry flowers home afterwards. 

Even though it was very snug in the hips, I wore the tighter size so it wouldn't be loose around the waist.  Get both sizes and see how you like it.  I wore clear heels and a push up sticky bra.  Watch out - this is a popular dress, you might not be the only one wearing it to your event!  :-)

Got to wear to a wedding as a guest and can’t wait ! Hip area is a bit tight but otherwise fits great!

I'm between sizes 4/6 depending on the brand. I ended up going with the 6 on this dress. The slip underneath does not have much stretch at all so since I carry my weight in my thighs/glutes it was a little tight there but I was comfortable all night. I am smaller chested so I did wear a bra with this dress and it fit well up top. Had I not worn a bra, it would've been too lose. I wore this to a wedding in Mississippi and it was very hot but the fabric was light so I didn't feel suffocated. 

I’m just under 5’5’’ and the bottom hit just above the floor on me in flats, so not sure how well it would work on a taller person, but it worked perfectly for me. super comfy and lots of compliments. :)

Perfect wedding guest dress. I have wide hips and a booty so I opted to wear the 6. I’m 5’3 and the dress was the perfect length with heels.
