Madewell jeans always run about one size large, so size down! They're stretchy but comfortable and hold you in around the belly region. I'm a big fan.

These fit like a glove! Hands down one of my favorite pairs of jeans I've ever rented, they have a little stretch to them so they're comfortable enough to wear all day. 

I listened to the RTR suggestion and rented 27R versus 29R, and I'm glad I did! The jeans fit perfectly - at the airport, on the plane, and in NYC (and we walked a lot!). Highly recommend theses!

I was a little nervous on going with a size smaller than I usually wear but these jeans couldn't have been more perfect! They have stretch in them but never got loose through the night. They have become my favorite and I will be keeping these!

Such a great pair of skinny jeans! Fabric is soft, stretchy and extremely comfortable. I have a short waist and it's hard to find a good pair of high waisted jeans that don't overwhelm my midsection. These jeans have a front rise of approx. 9"...making them "high-waisted" for those with a short-waist like me and technically mid-rise for those with a longer torso.  The button-fly and frayed hem added a unique touch. I wore them many times before they started to lose some of their shape. I am 5'9" with a 34" inseam and usually wear 27/28 Tall in jeans but the 27R fit great. These run slightly larger than true to size and I plan to try the 26R before buying a pair. 

I loved these jeans super cute but were way too big needed a belt to keep them up 

Hard to find the perfect waist and length fit. These jeans were it. Love the button close detail and they were comfy and great length for 5'5" frame. Wore multiple times. Will rent again and possibly purchase. 

These were my first pair of this brand. Really liked the fit and material! I may need a longer size as I felt these hit too high on my ankle. Not a great choice for colder months. 

I wish there were petite sizing of Madewell denim through RTR.

These are amazing! I rented them before making the purchase because Madewell jeans are expensive. I've loved having these in my closet.

Comfy, cute, just perfect. They are not true black though, a bit more like dark grey.

I'm a true 27 in Madewell jeans and these fit perfect. I wore them multiple times. Great to dress up or down! 

I am a huge fan of Madewell jeans so I knew how these would fit and that they would be super comfortable. They were a bit stretched out from previous wear when I received them, so I might size down since that usually happens with most Madewell jeans.

I am 4 months post partum and have been wearing a 30 in jeans. I have another wide leg pair from Madewell that is a 29 so when many reviews said to size down, that's what I ordered. However,  I could easily button these, but once on they looked too tight in the pelvis and thigh area. Had to send them back and will wait for the 30. Just wanted to offer a counter opinion since so many reviews said size down- remember these are very form fitting jeans so you might want to give yourself some room! 

Madewell Jeans never disappoint! I've kept these for weeks they fit perfect and make your bum look great! They run a little big.

Madewell suggests you wear them multiple times in between washes, but I wills say that they stretch out quite a bit with wear. I would have gone down a size had I known how much they would stretch!

Fits comfortably at my waist and hips with lots of stretch. Faded black denim. Hits at the ankle/foot. Effortless staple item everyone should have in their closet - yes I recommend to rent.

I loved these so much that I am getting a pair! The fit is so nice and the color is quite a bit lighter than in the photos - more of a charcoal grey than a black (which I what I was expecting). Even better, these come in both Petite and Tall sizes at the Madewell store.

Best jeans I've ever worn. Stretchy but don't stretch out as the night went on. I wore the 27 but could have gone with 26. I ended up buying them in 26.

Once I washed and dried them, they fit better!

I love these pants! Just what I was looking for. I wish I had gotten a smaller size, 24-25 would have fit a bit better for me, but the 26 worked ok. I wore multiple times and would definitely rent again! The fringe bottom is adorable and length was a perfect crop. Love the higher rise and the button front too!

These were fantastic jeans. I got so many compliments but was always comfortable. 

These jeans are great and super versatile. I wore them multiple times and they always looked great with whatever top I threw on. As other people have noted, they run big so I purposefully sized down. The size smaller fit me perfectly and made me feel great! The material isn't too think or too thin. Thick enough to not show cellulite dimples but thin enough to not be too hot in the summer heat.

These pants had the perfect amount of stretch. I cannot stand wearing jeans because I just feel so restricted. These were the most comfortable pants I have ever worn. So flattering and fit very true to size! If you are right between sizes, you could likely size down. But if you have a true size, go with that!

I love these jeans and am considering buying them. They are the perfect waist height and length and are trendy with the buttons and frayed ankles, yet still nice enough to wear to work, etc. I find them very comfortable, the material is thick but stretchy. 

A lot of stretch, if I rent again will size down

I loved the jeans. I wore them for a night out with friends. I did a lot of walking around town and not once did I feel uncomfortable, nor was I dying to get my jeans off by the end of the night like I normally do. The jeans were tight and form-fitting while still breathable. I would definitely rent them again!

I'm usually a size 2 - 4 and these 26 fit great. I actually might try the size 25 before buying these just to make sure. They make your butt look great and the high waist looks amazing (not toooo high waisted). I like the exposed buttons and cropped bottoms. So comfortable!  They do stretch out after a couple wears. 

As soon as I put them on I was hooked. I had tried madewell jeans once before but these were nice because they fit to my body. True to size and the length was great. I am 5'3, 131 pounds. I had to purchase! 

These are great. I might try the 29 next time.

Comfortable but large fit, and stretches over the course of the day. 

Super comfy, flattering fit. The fabric does stretch out significantly after the first wear so I probably should have sized down about two sizes.  Love the fray at the ankles. Overall they did the job, they are more of a dark gray than black though, no fading detail like most other jeans I wear so the change was nice. 

Far too big. Comfortably fit at first, but stretched out throughout the day. Size down.
