I have always loved the fit and style of Halston dresses and this was no exception- I wore my usual 8 and the dress fit like a glove. I was able to wear a normal bra with it, which is a huge plus. The slit is quite high (especially when sitting) but I was able to dance the night away at a wedding without issue and felt like a million bucks. My husband even had other guys compliment him on his wife with the high-slit dress! Will definitely be renting again!

This dress was amazing! The size 10 fit perfectly. I was nervous that the waist seam would hit at a strange spot but it was perfect. The fabric is thick so it goes a long way to hide a muffin top/spare tire. I did wear spanx underneath, but definitely don't wear the longer shorts kind because the slit comes up pretty high.  Also you can wear a regular bra with this dress. I received a ton of compliments on this dress from total strangers, which felt fantastic. I loved this dress and would absolutely rent it again!

True to size, the slit is a bit too much but I felt sexy.  I didn't need to wear a spanx under the dress because the dress is already shaped in a way it's no lt necessary to wear a spanx.  I didn't need to tuck in my belly (I have big belly) since the dress kept me in shape.  Would be interested in renting this dress again. 

The slit adds drama to this tea length, little black dress! It runs a little large - I would recommend sizing down in this. There is comfortable room in the bust and it is great for any bust size. The dress is fitted at the natural waist but has a straight fit in the hips.  I would pair this with black heels and a colorful statement necklace!

Wore this to a charity event and it was perfect! The length makes it feel formal, while the slit gives it a sexy twist.  Fits true to size.

I rented this for a NYE wedding. I had my second baby 4 months ago and things didn't go back the way they once were but this dress hid everything perfectly and was very comfortable because of the stretchy material. I am breastfeeding so I need something that was tight to hold me in but stretchy since my breast size goes from a D to a DDD/F before I need to pump. The slit was effortlessly sexy! Would definitely recommend.

Great dress! I rented for a fashion charity dinner. I wore it to work with sneakers and leather jacket and it was perfect for daytime as well. Tons of compliments. This dress did not disappoint.

Dress runs large, but if you size correctly, you'll be fine. Classic and covered up top with a high slit. Three people asked me for the designer name and told me to buy it. 

This dress was perfect for a charity gala. I'm 5'1" and have an athletic, muscular build so I sized up to be sure the back would zip. It was a little loose in the waist but not noticeable. I got compliments and was comfy all night. Paired it with lace-up nude pumps, a dressy white blazer, and citrine stone jewelry for some color.

This dress is extremely flattering and comfortable; it was worn for a formal fundraiser. I received so many compliments on it through the night. Just be aware of the side slit when sitting, as the material spreads apart when sitting and exposes your entire leg.

I wore this to a high end work event i had to work. I never once felt inappropriate and got tons of compliments. The material is forgiving as I'm not a small woman and I never once had to adjust the dress (even with the high slit). Totally want to buy!

Amazing quality and fit. I felt pretty, sexy and confident while wearing it. Material is a bit stretchy, fit me well, but had some room to fill out if needed. I really loved this dress! Wore it to a an orientation I led at work and felt awesome :)

Looks very simple on the hanger but after you get it on it's definitely a pleaser! The fit was excellent and the high slit added the right amount of sexy needed for the parents night out! Thinking about buying to keep! Only con is the zipper is kind of challenging. Needed help getting it up. Other than that, I loved it!

I wore this dress to my friend's wedding and loved it! It was super comfortable - I was very pleased to fit a size 6 (sometimes I'm and 8 in dresses) and the slit made it sexy while still keeping it classy. The fit was great and had a slimming effect. I would rent this again!

This dress is a showstopper. I received compliments on it all night at a friend's wedding. I was so sad to send it back! The slit is very high, which is dangerous when sitting down, so you'll have to be careful, but the dress is definitely worth it. It's classic and slimming. True to size.

I had an awards event to go to and wasn't keen on dressing up due to recent weight gain. This dress made me feel great. I was so lucky to have picked two winners for this two event weekend. I ended up winning an award and had to go up on stage to accept so everyone saw my dress and I received so many compliments after. 

I'm typically a 8-10 but got this in a 6R. It fit like a glove and oh my LEGG!! See pics for proof is this stunner.  You won't be disappointed. 

This dress was everything I needed and more!!! It Fit perfect and was it was moveable was able Danced all night in it. Ordered the 12 (which fit but tight) and 14 but wanted to be able to dance without worrying so I wore the 14. Received lots of compliments.

The dress was a bit tight for me. I would have preferred a larger size, but they were out. The dress bunched a bit in the waist to accommodate my hips, but because of the thick material, no one seemed to notice! I'm tall, so I was nervous the slit would be too high for me, but just looked sexy. I would rent the dress again (in a larger size!)

I wore this to see Hamilton and it was perfect! I wore a regular bra and the straps were covered. The slit makes it sexy, but not too revealing. Perfect! I felt elegant and beautiful.

I felt incredible in this dress. It's elegant and sexy, the slit is to die for! I wore this to a friends wedding and as little black dresses go, this one takes the cake. It's well tailored and the fabric is sturdy. It hugged me all in the righ places and showed off my curves well! I just felt amazing in this dress... it was hard to send it back!


I rented this dress for a black tie optional wedding and it was more than I expected! I felt stunning, beautiful, sexy and classy, all at once. It made me look and feel tall and slender and I would absolutely rent this dress again. I am 5'7", 170, and it hugged my curves in all the right places. 

The fit was great and the dress was very comfortable. The slit and the cut outs on the back made the dress so fun! It is a thicker material which helped during the outdoor portions of the event. I usually have an issue with dresses being too short but this one worked out perfectly. It would probably be on the long side for anyone under 5’6” still cute but more formal I think.

This dress made me feel beautiful.  I ordered this one as my backup dress but ended up loving it more than my first choice.   I am fairly hippy and the cut across the front was perfect for my body type and made it look slimming.  It definitely has a high slit so you need to be careful when you sit down but its feasible.  I also normally wear a 4 in clothes but in this wore the 2 so size down for you second size.  As a mom of 2 -- I felt pretty darn sexy for the first time in a long time.

This dress is perfect.. hugs all the right places and is so comfortable!! Would recommend 100%! 

I wore this dress to a formal event. I am normally bewteen an 8 and 6 in terms of dress size (always depends on the dress!) but the 6 fit comfortably and I even had some extra room! While the slit does ride up a bit when sitting, it was not enough to make me self conscious and it was easy enough to monitor. I got a lot of compliments and felt incredible! 

Halston Heritage is always a great rental! Nice, quality fabric and seams. Sizing and other reviews were spot on, and it did seem there was a bit of give in fabric. Great silhouette and angles across midsection. Simple black dress with dramatic slit makes it a perfect statement piece but may be a *bit* too risky when sitting (slit opens up high on the thigh). I was standing most of the night so there was no stress about that at all but might be an issue if you're going to a formal sit down. Would rent again!

I can’t say enough about this dress! It fit like a glove. It was so incredibly sexy and sophisticated. I wore it to my company Christmas party. I received so many complements. I wish I owned it!

The cons were the zipper it was hard to pull up, and also the shoulders were a bit loose but over all it was great fit.

Ordered a size 10 and 12. Both sizes fit but went with the 12 to feel more comfortable dancing. The slit was not too high, it was just enough sexy leg but still classy. I loved the length of the dress and the back details. Wish I would’ve bought this dress, I’d wear it again! 

Loved the material.   Quality enough not to have to wear spanx underneath and does not attract animal hair (I have 5 at home so this is important).  Loved the fact I could wear a regular bra as well.   Slit is sexy but classy but can ride up when sitting down so have to be careful.  Allowed me to move and dance with no problems.  Highly recommend if looking for a LBD to wear!

This dress is gorgeous! Sexy side slit, yet perfect for a formal affair. Warning though... while sitting through dinner keep the napkin over you to cover the leg that that side slit exposes. I've rented this dress twice already and will likely rent again! It is perfect! 

Loved how fun this dress was!! So comfortable and lots of compliments. The slit was perfectly placed. Only negative was that the top was a little big, but since I have more of a pear shaped body type, I'm used to that. Would totally rent this dress again! I am about 5'1" 165 lbs. 

I loved this dress....but NOT for the event I chose it for. I was invited to a work fundraiser, where I'd be sitting at a table with current and retired partners of our firm. The dress was too sexy in that context...that slit was more revealing than I bargained for! I ended up not wearing it (boo hoo!) and going with something I already owned. However, I totally want to rent this address again...it fit like a glove and I felt like a million bucks in it! I'll save it for a night out on the town with my husband, haha!

I really did love wearing this dress because it was super comfortable and flattering. I ordered because the reviews were so great, even for y'all girls like me. I wore to bf's Christmas party and we sat a lot of the time. The slit is so short on my 36" legs and 6' stature that I had to place my clutch over my crotch every time I sat or got up as to not flash everyone. I kept my napkin over my exposed thigh all night for safety. Great dress, just wish the 6L would've been available. Fits true to size. 

- I wore this dress to a 1920s-themed holiday party for work and loved it! The slit adds some sass to an otherwise modest/classy dress, which I loved. The slit is also the dress's Achilles' heel, so I knocked a star off my rating. More on that below.

- I ordered an 8 and 10 and wore the 8 comfortably. The top and waist weren't super flattering on me (I have a smaller bust.) A 6 probably would have been more flattering on top, but uncomfortable. 

- Beware that if you choose to wear nylons with this dress, choose ones that don't have the darker "shorts" section at the top. They will probably peek through the slit.

- As other renters noted, the slit gets dangerous when sitting down! The venue I was at had velvet booths, which proved to be a bit of a nightmare with this dress. They pulled and twisted the dress until I was wearing practically nothing. I was glad there were black cloth napkins within reach that I could place over my lap while I ate and scooted in and out of the booth. 

Like other reviewers noted, the dress runs small.  I am usually right in between a 4 and a 6, and while the 4 fit fine, it probably would have looked better in a 2 (which I never would have imagined!).  The slit is a fun and sexy detail to an otherwise modest dress.  It's not too high that it was overly revealing (I wore it to a family wedding on NYE), but definitely got higher when sitting or crazy dancing.  I got a lot of compliments, and the dress was very comfortable (bonus- you can wear a regular bra!).  Overall, I would recommend it- just be sure your backup size is smaller! 

Wore to fiancé's work party (cocktail attire affair).  Fit perfect in the shoulders and bust. Was very comfortable. Cut in the hips hit to high on me, probably because of my height and shorter torso. I disliked the fitting in my hips but my fiancé said it was not noticeable. Slit was just fine when standing but rose incredibly high when sitting.  I encourage you to sit in the dress before deciding to wear it out. Would rent again.
