I wore this to a dinner event and it was lovely, I felt beautiful. Small was the best fit, I was 117 here (5’4). Leaving the review 6 years later oops, my primary size has changed a lot (shoutout gym & improved relationship w/ food) so that’s not good to use for reference. 

I loved the fit of this dress but ended up going with something else for the wedding 

this dress fit me PERFECTLY! I wore it for Pref night of sorority recruitment and will be wearing it to a wedding as well. I love the color and the fit of it. 

I was worried after reading reviews that the small wouldn't fit, however the XS even fit. I think it fits true to size. It's short, but not too short. I love the cap/sleeves. Would definitely recommend!

I got so many compliments on this dress. It was very comfortable and true to size. There was a little extra room through the bottom, but I'm only 5'3. It didn't look large, and I don't think this would be an issue for someone less petite. Highly recommend!

This dress was such a beautiful color! It fit very well and was the perfect length! 

I really wanted a dress with sleeves for this event and I was drawn to the Teal Lace Cape Sheath dress because of it's unique cape sleeves. However, it didn't look quite as good on me as I would have liked. I don't know if it was because I was wearing a Large, but the sleeves made me look a bit top heavy. I would have preferred a more fitted fit through the hips (like on the model image). The style looked a bit boxy and matronly on me - definitely not my style - but otherwise a comfortable dress to wear.

Great choice for a fall or spring wedding. I liked the angel sleeves and material. It looked super short when I sat down, though. 

I felt beautiful and was complimented all night! The dress was comfortable but more fitted than I was expecting- for those with an hourglass figure and/ or athletic legs/ bum,  I would definitely size up. The small was way too tight at my chest and bum so I went with medium and it was a a bit loose at the waist unless I tugged down the skirt. I found that it bunched up a little at the tailbone from time to time. 

The dress fits true to size. I am petite and it came just above my knee. It was super comfortable and not too revealing.

Got this as a backup and loved it better than what I had originally picked. It fit great and was comfortable the whole night. Soft material, do wish it was shorter but overall I got complimented the whole night.

I wore this dress to my husband's work holiday dinner party (delayed because of weather conditions in December). The colors and fabric are beautiful, pictures do not do it justice. I gave it a 4 out of 5 only because it was tight around my hips (just had a baby 6 months ago). It also felt short to me, even though I'm short myself. 
My husband and I were the only ones who were dressed up, but whatever. It was fun and overall I enjoyed wearing the dress.

I rented this dress for my husband's birthday party. The setting of the event was in a beautiful, older home, which had been converted to a bar/restaurant... this means it required a dress that was equally unique! When I saw this dress on RTR, I knew it was the perfect dress for the occasion and setting. The color is a perfect blend of blue and green (a bit more green), and the gold thread really catches the eye. The design of the "wings" was a beautiful surprise, and made the dress surely stand out! 
I would rent this dress again if there was an extra large option... because this was tight! I paired this with a spanx-skirt and panthose (it was 5 degrees outside), and lucky for me, it seemed to hold it all in! All in all, I felt pretty and received a lot of compliments! Thanks again, RTR! 

Wore this for my husbands work yearly awards dinner. Was comfortable & he loved it! 

Fun and pretty dress. Runs small, especially the waist and chest were tight. 

Fit perfectly, bottom of back zipper kind of bulged out which made me look like I was hiding a tail but if I pulled the dress down in the back it went away. Dress was beautiful with gold jewelry! 

I liked this dress, rented for a charity event. Definitely size up! I'm usually a 6 but the Medium was too tight and short. Large was still a little tight but I think an XL would have been too big. My favorite detail is the cape in the back. Something different but not too flashy.

I wish all dresses were like this one! Loved the fit, very comfortable, I could wear a regular bra (!!), and it was very flattering. I also loved the subtle gold details in it and the "cape"! I wore this to a wedding and got so many compliments! 

The color of this dress is very true to the picture and the accents are a great shade of gold.  The cape was everything I'd hoped for and more.  

This dress is super comfortable but it is short, and the XS is very small in the bust.  If you're busty size up.  I wore this with a legging as it was cold the day I rented this for in PA.

I have been debating renting a dress and when I saw this I loved everything about it. The teal color, lace and gold accents. I'm 10 months post partum and am still dealing with extra pounds. I read every single review and the ones similar to me because I really wanted it to work. I'm 5' 4", 161 lbs, 36DD, bust measurement is 41". I chose the large and medium as my back up even though I was sure it probably wouldn't fit. I think the dress runs small, I went with the Large and could not zip it up by myself but luckily with someone else's help it fit. It was tight but I was comfortable enough. Dress was a tiny bit short, found myself adjusting occasionally when sitting but was not that bad. The dress came super fast and the only issue I had was the return label would not scan at ups so they had to correct the shipping info. My suggestion would be to show the size chart info based on actual measurements like bust, waist, hips. I find that's helpful when trying to determine size. Overall I am happy and recommend this dress and will definitely use rent the runway for my next formal event. 

As other reviewers noted a little short but overall did a great job of curve hugging.  Was comfortable and the little mini-cape on it was great for winter (and super unique).  Received tons of complements.  Will definitely order again!

I rented this for a book award banquet and it was perfect. The cape really makes it something special. Love the gold accent on the lace and since I'm a little shorter, the length was perfect. I'd definitely rent this one again! The M fit, but I felt more comfortable in the L, especially in the hip area. If you've got bigger hips, consider sizing up.  Otherwise, it was a pretty true to fit dress. 

This is an incredibly comfortable dress - it has just enough stretch to not feel like you're sucked in, even though the dress is fitted. The cape sleeves are super flattering and the color is beautiful. Definitely recommend!

It fit perfectly and was very flattering. I'm short yet it was still short enough to look cute but long enough where I didn't feel exposed. 

While it is short, the cut is modest, so it works. The lace is delicate, but durable, and not at all itchy.  It was super fun dancing in this dress at my friend's wedding.

I am in love with this dress! The color, the silhouette, the bit of metallic shimmer, etc. It hugs your curves nicely and was a perfect length. I felt it was a little tight over my post baby bump, so I chose to wear another dress over this one. However, once I hit the gym, I plan on ordering this dress for my next event! The dress was a little smaller than I expected around the waist, but it felt custom tailored and was very comfortable. I loved the sleeves and received lots of compliments on this one!

Fit great, I'm 5'8", 165 but toned/athletic. I do not have a large bottom so it was a little loose right above my rear but otherwise good and you could barely tell.

I am usually a size 8 due to my hips, and i was surprised how well the M fit me! I dont normally wear tight dresses but was feeling good in it! I wore control top pantyhose so it helped smooth everything out! The "cape" was fun, too! 

This stress is beautiful; between the lace, cape and the gold accent, I don't know what to say.  I would absolutely wear this again.  I decided to wear the medium because it felt more comfortable while still fitted.  Don't hesitate!  Great dress.

I wore this dress for my company holiday party and it was great! It had that vintage vibe with the back but had a beautiful pattern and color, mostly for the holidays! I'm usually between a Small and Medium but decided to wear the Medium because it was a bit tight around the chest (I'm a 34B). It was super comfortable to wear all night for dancing and hit the perfect length for me (I'm 5'3). Would definitely recommend it! 

I rented this for my Christmas Party gor work and received so many compliments! The cape is so unique and the fit is very flattering. It is a little short, but at 5'2 it worked for me. 

I absolutely loved this dress and would rent again. I have broad shoulders and was nervous how it would fit, but the medium was perfect and comfortable. I could have worn the small, but wanted to be comfortable and the length was perfect on the medium. 

Wore this dress to a wedding. I was hesitant to do a body hugging dress four months postpartum so this was my backup, but once I put it on I felt great!!! It was a little on the short side, but I got so many compliments!! I'm a bit more chesty at the moment because of breastfeeding and the medium fit like a glove and I didn't feel like I was suffocating!! It's definitely a statement dress!!
