I swear it said size 4 when I rented.... but I am typically a 0/2 but it worked as a flowly fit.
This dress was so unique and fun. I would never normally wear this, but I'm so glad I tried it. The fabric and prints are incredible. Like the other reviews said, it's a bit tricky to put on but honestly if you slip it over your head and then figure it out it actually helps more. I did have a problem with one side slipping off my shoulder and showing my bra when I was sitting down, but I was ok with that since it was a casual affair I wore it to. It could be hard to navigate if it's more formal or proper. Really recommend!!
took me about 20 minutes to figure out how to put on, but once on it's stunning, it's still a little long at 5'10 but i love the pattern, so flattering and gorgeous.
This dress was beautiful, wore in NYE and got so many compliments. The one thing I had a tiny problem with was the side of the dress kept falling and my boobies would pop out too much, and I love a good clev.
This was a little daunting putting on, lol, took a while to figure out how to put it on. After I figured tht out though, the fit is beautiful and dress is sooo comfortable.
Love this dress! As many said, it's hard to put it on but it's beautiful and very well made.
I am smaller on top, so I closed in the top with a pin to show minimal cleavage. I also pinned a section under my arm to my bra, so that the rib area wasn't exposed. Other than the tiny glitches, what a beautiful flowy dress. I wore 3 inch heels to pick up the dress as well. Loved it!
Although this dress was HELL to put on, I was determined to figure it out, and I am so happy I did! I am a nursing mother so I wore a black shell tank from Chico's underneath to block the side cut and the neckline and it was perfect. This dress was flattering, well made and so unique. Couldn't love this dress more!
Loved this dress! Wore it to a Gala and it was fun and flowy. I was worried the single stitch at the cleavage was going to bust which would have caused a major wardrobe malfunction, but it didn't. A bit tricky to put on but forgiving in the belly. I'm 5'5" 165 lbs and a size 12. (Wasn't able to update my profile here).
I originally rented this dress for my brother's rehearsal dinner (for his wedding). However, it did not arrive on time, so I wore it for working rehearsal viewing for New York City Ballet. I paired it with black leather jacket. First of all, the feel of dress is great. Really comfortable. Like the other review, there is a slit on the left side but it is nothing too big. I wore it with black bralette. I think this fits pretty true to size. It has bit of a baggy look. I love how it flows and how it looks. I want to wear it one more time before returning. I would say as a 5'6" person, it was slightly long. I really like this dress. I would love to keep it if it wasn't so expensive.
Pros: The quality of the fabric and variety of prints is incredible. This dress made a statement and I received multiple compliments at a dinner party. The length was just right for me at 5'5''. The v-neck was flattering and the cutout was a nice surprise. Cons: None!
Loved loved loved this dress! Plan on holding onto it for multiple wears! SO comfortable! SO unique! SO lovely! I felt amazing in it & coworkers stopped in their tracks passing me in the hallways to compliment it. Highly recommend!
Wore this twice in a weekend -- to a backyard BBQ and to a baby shower. There were compliments galore and I had fun in it! I no longer think that DVF is for older conservative women.
I had to wear a little black Cami under this because there's a side cutout that's not really great if you have any bust, but I still love the dress! Really unique and I got tons of compliments all night! Comfortable, float dress. I wore this to an arts organization's donor party. Great dress!
I am really short. Like 4"11, but I managed to turn it into a skirt, which I prefer it like that anyway. Either way the dress is stunning. Adore it to the max!!!
This dress is fun to wear, the fabric is lovely, and it was great for going out to dinner while traveling. Lots of compliments from family. Be aware of two things (neither are deal breakers) 1) there is a big cutout/slit under one of the arms-- I just wore a black tank underneath, but if you don't, your skin will be showing 2) It took me a long time to figure out how to put this dress on! The tag is in the bag, but the way the layers and folds lie, it is a pretty confusing dress. Eventually you'll get it, but don't be surprised if it takes you 10-15 minutes!
I LOVED this dress. It was a little complicated to get on because of the structure and patterning, and I didn't notice when I ordered that there were slits on the side. So to make it wearable for work, I just layered it with a leather jacket. I got so many compliments on this dress and people stopping me at the office to ask about it. Cannot recommend it enough.
Lovely dress. Unique. Compliments. Perfect length with flats 5ft 7. Liked the fabric/print. Good for hot weather. Note this dress shows skin on one side of torso. You can wear a black tank under to make it more office friendly if necessary. Would consider buying if less expensive.
When the dress arrived and I tried it on I thought it was ok....just ok. It was a little baggy. I ended up wearing it to church a few days later and ended up loving it. I wore a black tank underneath because of the side cut out. I'm 5'5 and without heels it dragged the floor a bit so I wore a wedge. I received a lot of compliments and my husband really liked it. If it were not for my Unlimited Subscription I would not have tried this dress but glad I did. Will rent again but in a size 10.
I would do anything not to give this dress back. I've had it through unlimited for a month and I've worn it at least 7 times. Dressed it up for a work party, out to dinner, brunch. It is so versatile, lightweight and comfortable. I've received endless compliments. It's an absolute must rent!
Loved this dress. It runs a little large but the 0 worked out well. I was worried it would be too long since I'm only 5'2'' but it was the perfect length with heels.
Loved this dress. I could have used a size smaller but the 4 still worked. It's very comfortable and flattering. I just had an baby 7 weeks ago and this was perfect to cover my bump that's still going down.
I love DVF and I saw this at saks in person. It reminded me of a Sari. Don't wear it to work, there is a bit of skin on the side showing. I wore it to an opening at the museum. It was 90 degrees that day and the dress was perfect. At 5'5 it was the perfect length and I wore gold flip flops without a problem. I received many compliments and my boyfriend loved the print as well as the silky material. DVF always runs a little small so go a size up if are between sizes. Rent this dress!
I have to admit, I was a little hesitant about this dress when I ordered it because of the odd pattern mix and skin showing under the left arm but I was blown away by how gorgeous it is. The fabric is silky and the cut of the dress made me want to spin around and run through fields in the sun. Others seemed to notice too because I received a lot of compliments. If you work at a pretty liberal office it should work for the office but I wouldn't recommend it for D.C. Government or finance offices.
This dress is unique and stylish. It fits well and is true to size. I have been keeping it longer than usual so that I can take it to New York and London later this month. It is a little confusing to put on initially because of all the various folds. The size 2 was a perfect length for my 5'5" height. I wore a BCBG camisole underneath because it is open on one side which was not age appropriate for me but would be perfect for a young thin person.
I loved this dress and did not want to give it back. Tons of compliments - the construction and draping is beautiful. The slit on the side wasn't a big deal; I just pinned it. I am a true size 0 and the 0R had a generous, but still flattering (slimming!), fit. The colors, cut, and silky fabric make this one a must-try!
I LOVED this dress. I rented it specifically for a bridal shower and wore it with black ankle strap sandals to dress it up a little but but since I had it all weekend, I made the most out of it. I wore it Friday night for date night with block heel sandals and a leather jacket and then Sunday with sneakers, SUPER versatile and so so comfy. I have broad shoulders so it doesn't fit as loosely as pictured on the model but not in a bad way. It is definitely a very long dress so plan to wear heels if you are petite. Highly recommend this dress.
Makes a nice statement for a casual party
I wore this on the day I got my RTR shipment (doing random errands on a hot ass day) and am so glad I didn't wear it out wine tasting as I'd originally intended! While I love the dress--it felt like wearing an avante garde sari--with my small boobs and short frame, it just didn't fit right. Even with a pin placed at the front, the girls were threatening exposure and the left strap was slipping off of me, I could see this totally working for taller women and/or those with busts that could fill it out. It was also a little too long even with 2 inch heels.
Probably could have gone with a 6 instead of 8, but it's a loose fit anyway and the 8 was OK. Really felt like a dream to wear. A woman I barely knew came up to me and unsolicited said I won the award for "best dress at the party," not a comment I'm used to hearing (this was my very first experience with RTR). The only glitch was that, due to the construction of the garment, it was actually really a challenge to figure out how to put on, where to put my arms through etc. I always had to resort to going on the website, viewing the photo of the back, laying the dress on the floor to match the view in the photo, then carefully put it on over my back. But worth the effort! (I would actually recommend bringing a printout of the back view with you in case you might not have wifi.)
This dress fits true to size (I wore my usual RTR size of 10). I have a love-hate relationship with this dress. What I love: * artsy, cool design * very luxurious silk material * the skirt flows beautifully when walking * lots of room for bigger chests What I hate: * dress doesn't quite fit right and doesn't provide enough shape at the waist * the two front layers at the V-neck are stitched together at just one point; it looked right when I was standing, but I constantly had to readjust the V-neck while sitting at dinner; might not be an issue for smaller chests. Note: one definitely needs to wear a camisole underneath the dress; also, this dress will only work for taller women; I am 5'8" and the back of the dress nearly hit the floor.
The fabric mash up was fantastic, but the dress is a little funny to get on.
This dress was surprisingly very cute on. It fits true to size, however I recommend going one size down for back up since it is a looser fit. It's great for any cup size and has comfortable room throughout the midsection. This is a statement dress and perfect for more formal parties or weddings.
This was a great "on stage" dress and I got compliments galore all day. I dressed it up with platform wedges and chunky jewelry but it easily could have been dressed down with sandals or flip-flops. There is a weird gap underneath the left arm (see 3rd picture in RTR listing) but I just wore a black cami underneath. It runs big...I'm a pretty solid size 8, wore a 6, and probably could have worn the 4. Very cool and lightweight.
This dress runs BIG! I had to belt it in to cinch the waist a bit I am 5'6 and I had to pick it up when I went up stairs to avoid stepping on it-- prolly not for a shorter girl Very unique DVF wrap dress- it has a cut out on the side but I wore a black cami since it was big and low on me Definitely a unique piece - the different colors and patterns were so beautiful. Fabric is light and airy- very comfortable
I should have gotten a size up. Definitely get a size up if you are 5'8 for the length. Dress itself is gorgeous and unique - I wish it fit me better. The cut of the dress was so strange. Takes a few minutes to put on. My boobs would come out if I made a wrong turn and I was very uncomfortable in it all day with seams pulling at my back so I ended up changing.
Super baggy but I got a size 8, and I'm a 6. I had read about how it was hard to put on and that was true. The peekaboo on the tummy was a little pop of sexy.
Worn for a day of wine tasting and visiting in art museums in Napa, this piece looked to play the perfect part! There were some challenges though - 1. figuring out how to get into the dress and 2. the fact that it ran very large for me. Luckily I had a great belt to cinch in the extra fabric so no one noticed the difference. I got lots of compliments and recommend renting this one, just size down and know to give yourself time to get into the dress correctly when getting ready.
Wore it to a Polo match. It’s difficult to figure out how to get in but once you do, it’s so comfortable and stylish
fun to wear...hard to figure out how to put it on!
