Love Derek Lam so much. This dress makes me feel like a work-appropriate goth princess. I highly recommend renting. The fabric is a thin knit, it's very comfortable and surprisingly breathable on the 80 degree day I wore it. It definitely runs large, wish I had sized down. I had to safety pin the straps up and the waist is baggy. Also the belt was missing, so I used one of my own. Otherwise a fabulous dress that I will rent again in a size down. 

I got so many compliments wearing this dress. Mostly everyone said how insanely flattering it was. It is beautiful and would rent again. I am a consistent 6 but listened to reviews and got the 4 - really glad I did. The straps are super long, and was pulling it up a lot so would suggest pinning them. 

The fabric is way thicker than I imagined. Like a curtain almost. Still drapes great and looks nice.

Loved the fabric of this dress. It was very low cut so I put a tank under it. I also doubled the belt because I didn't want a bow.  Great for winter and fall!  Almost kept this one! Very unique and memorable 

Intricate line an details were very nice 

I am considering to buy it, its on a heavy side tweed fabric, (but fine for summer ), gives raw hem edge, its seems like great dress for vacation, office, dinner,0 fit me right, not tight, but look fitted, but for anybody with smaller size/ weight- it will be big.

Rented this last minute when another dress I had ordered didn't fit with my unlimited subscription. I normally wear a size ten but sized down as others mentioned this dress does run big. The straps were still a bit long. The dress is a heavier material but that made it more forgiving and flattering I feel. Super easy to wear with a regular bra and easy to walk around in. Doesn't wrinkle either which is a plus! Definitely a good dress for taller ladies.

I wore this with block heels to a nice dinner. I didn't see the belt at first and almost didn't wear it because without the belt it is very shapeless. However, with the belt, it was fabulous. The material is very thick. I used fabric tape to conceal the straps of my bra in the back. It is pretty low cut and the straps would probably be too long for anyone who wears an A- or B-cup or anyone who is petite.

Loved the flattering cut and had to pin the straps back a bit because they were too long but overall really loving this dress

I wore this dress to the funeral of a family member. I could've worn a size 2 because of the stretch in the black side panels and the overall stretchiness in the sweater-like fabric of the dress. I did wear a black cami underneath instead of a bra because I didn't want GOD to see my cleavage. It was a nice length for the occasion and it's an overall nice dress.

Loved this dress. Goes from office to evening. Only issue is that the straps are a bit long so it's a little low cut. I could wear my own bra with it. Somewhat heavy for very hot weather. 

Loved this dress, so many compliments! The straps were a bit long so it made it very "cleavage forward" but i loved it (not a work dress). It didn't come with a belt and I had to use my own, that's the only thing that really bothered me.

I chose this dress from the NYC flagship store. It runs big, especially around the arms and torso. It looks reasonably cute with the help of the belt so I decided to go for it despite an imperfect fit.   

This was a cute dress but I picked it for everyday wear and it had a more formal feel.  The length really needs to be worn with heels and the cut was a bit large for me.  It would be great for a formal event, a dressier office vibe or wedding.

Such a cute dress, BUT I need to order a smaller size. I'm in between 6 and 8, and definitely returning for a 4.

I love the dress but normal size 6 was a bit loose even with the belt and showed a lot of cleavage. It was a bit much for my conservative office

Fun dress to wear. Don't forget to wear belt that cones with it. Loved everything about this dress...comfortable, texture, patterns, cut, quality, and weight.

Love the weight of the fabric on this dress!  The stripes are super adorable, too.  I'd definitely rent this one again.

I wore this with a thin black turtleneck for work and it was perfect. The material is very thick so I wouldn't recommend it for warmer months/climates even though it's sleeveless.

Runs large. I sized down to a 4, based on previous reviews. I'm typically a 6. Fits great with the belt. Super stylish. Prefect for work or everyday wear. I'd keep it if it were a little less expensive. Love it.

Runs true to size, I should have been a 4 but they didn't have it, but the 6 still looked great as a roomier fit. Heavy quality fabric, the stock photos don't do this dress justice!

Easy and forgiving fit with gorgeous little belt. Perfect fit.

Amazing thick material.  I've rented Derek Lam in the past and it ran small.  However, this dress definitely runs a tad large.  I'm between a 4 and a 6....ordered the 6.  But the second I put it on, I knew it would look amazing in the 4.  It has a belt, but still had plenty of room on the sides.  Can't wait to get the size 4!   Sorry no photo, but wanted to get this out there for everyone right away.

Wore this to an outdoor concert. It was extremely flattering and comfy. Felt a bit large for the size. The sides flair more than the pic indicates, but I liked it. 

This is a great dress.  I got so many compliments.  I ordered a 4R and I am normally a 4-6 and it was still a bit too large, but the belt sinched it in.

I normally wear a 4/6 (usually 6), and the 4 was really big. A 2 would have worked.
