I love this dress and received so many compliments on it. Yes, the slit is fairly central and high (likely because i'm 5'10") but I didn't find it to be inappropriate. I work for a fashion company, so this was well within what we would consider tasteful. I did size up to a 6 because of my chest thinking the buttons might gap -- no need. If you're between sizes go with the smaller size. The dress has plenty of stretch to it.  Also, after seeing another reviewers photo I was a little concerned the navy might have faded -- not so. The dress is a perfect shade of navy, but does tend to wrinkle if you're sitting for an extended time period. I would totally rent again. 

I loved the asymmetrical style of this dress. The nature of the cut makes it a bit challenging to sit in a work setting -- I had to place a scarf in my lap to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions. Received lots lots of compliments on this dress.

The dress is very smart looking, very professional, and very fashion-forward. I felt like it was less flattering to an hourglass figure than it would have been on someone with narrower hips and a slightly smaller bust, but it was a solid work choice. The fabric does wrinkle easily as you can see in my photo (which was taken within a half hour of my putting it on).

Very cute dress. High slit, but totally work appropriate if you don't wear crazy heels. 

I wore this dress at least three times to the office and felt fantastic each time. It hugged my curves without appearing or feeling too tight and the overall style feels slightly sexy but also 100% appropriate for the office. Very light weight and comfortable. Would get a lot of use out of this if I owned it.

Dress fit great. Only negative is the slit is more centered than I realized, so more revealing than I'd like when I walked. 

I wanted to love this dress. It was flattering shape-wise and the fabric had a great feel to it. However, I found the slit very high and couldn't wear the dress to work. I ended up wearing it to dinner and definitely had to be a little cautious with the slit to prevent a wardrobe malfunction. Beautiful top but the bottom just didn't work for me.

Beautiful dress- the neck was a touch too high, but otherwise, incredible

Loved this dress. I did have to pin the bottom slit so that the middle of my legs were not exposed, but aside from that adjustment, this is a beautiful classic work dress. Note I wore a collared navy/white stripe button up due to the weather but it was still a perfect fit!

Beautiful dress but the slit up the front is too high for the office. You could probably wear tights but I don't have any that would match a navy dress. Great fit otherwise. 

The slit rides higher than it appeared in the photo. I was on the fence about wearing it to my formal work affair because the slit came up so high. It hit right at my fingertips. I did end up wearing the dress because the event was thankfully not a seated dinner and received several compliments.

Unfortunately did not fit as in photo.  Arm holes too low and large, front slit to high to wear to work or even out.  Material is good quality though - just the fit was completely wrong

Clean lines, classic look. Just incredibly easy for work. Next time I would size down.

Rented this as an everyday outfit for work. The fabric makes any curves on an hourglass figure look really boxy, but I can see this looking good on a willowy figure.
