This dress was great - it hugged everything in but smoothed it out at the same time, was comfortable for dancing & wasn't too hot for an outdoor wedding. It does ride up a bit, but the length was close to my knee so it wasn't an issue.  I'm in love with neoprene dresses now. They hug you in all the right places and show off your curves without it being too much. The color is absolutely gorgeous as well. Would highly recommend for most body types - though I can say personally it works well for those athletic builds (I have broad shoulders & large quads and felt unbelievably comfortable all night).

I loved this dress and got many compliments. It fits like a glove so if you want it a little looser I would order a size up for the second dress. I've dubbed this dress the wetsuit dress. The material feels luxurious and is amazing. This dress hugs the body but was comfortable to walk, dance and sit in. I'm tall and the length was perfect. It did ride up a little when I walked and danced. I would totally wear this dress again.

I saw the pattern of this dress and immediately had to wear it for the wedding I was attending.  I read a bunch of reviews and wasn't sure of the fit.  I selected the size 4 originally, then switched to a 6 when it became available as I saw other reviews mentioning sizing up.  I am somewhere between a 4 and 6, depending on the brand/fit.  Two days before the wedding I received an email from Alex stating the size 6 came back too late or was damaged and wouldn't be able to be sent.  She had selected another dress and sent it.  Unfortunately, that dress wouldn't work and so I asked for the size 4 or a back-up dress if that wasn't available.  Alex overnighted both the size 4 and the backup, and they arrived before noon.  The size 4 Van Gogh shift fit like a glove.  The neoprene is a really fun material, it contoured perfectly to my shape and I didn't need any additional shapewear, it smoothes you out so well!!  I am happy I ended up with the 4 as I think the 6 would not have looked as good or as sleek.  I received SO many compliments on the dress, and felt confident, sexy, and amazing all night, especially when dancing.  I highly recommend this dress for a big, fun statement.  It runs true to size and you will regret having to send it back!  Absolutely great first experience with RTR!

This was my second RTR experience and just as great as my first. I rented this dress for a graduation dinner and it was perfect. The material is interesting--neoprene. I read the reviews so knew what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised when i tried it on. It is extremely formfitting but the material makes it very comfortable to dance and move in compared to other form-fitting dresses. I was so happy with the style and would highly recommend it.

This dress fit great and was very flattering. I received many compliments. It is a wet suit type material, which actually nicely keeps everything in. I rented a necklace along with this dress, which I wouldn't recommend due to the stitched black "V" on the dress' neckline. Putting a necklace over that looked silly. Overall it was a great experience. 

I wore this to an October wedding with a navy pashmina & it felt very comfortable and weather/event appropriate. This was another great experience with RTR. I'm normally one for a solid color dress, but it was fun to go with this unique pattern. I will say it is form fitting, but not in a negative way. When other renters say it fits like a wetsuit, they are not lying. Wishing I could have kept this dress!

Loved this dress! Comfortable and sexy without feeling inappropriate given the print and high neckline (although I did wear a blazer over it). I usually wear a 4-6 in dresses and ended up wearing the 6 because it was a bit longer, but I'd have worn the slightly tighter and shorter 4 if I'd been going to a bachelorette party rather than a work event. 

The color was a little bit different than the photos online. I rented this after the original dress I had picked out was damaged beyond repair. The dress was made of a neoprene material so it fit like a glove, the material was thick but very comfortable.

Like many others have said, the material is not usual, I felt like I could have gone surfing after the wedding - without changing! But, it fit amazing and I absolutely loved it. Perfect for an outdoor wedding. I didn't notice much difference between the 6 and the 8.

Flawless fit, incredibly comfortable, stunning pattern, vivid colors.  Definitely made to stand out in a crowd. I'm not normally a print person, and wasn't impressed with this dress on the hangar, but it came to life when I tried it on! The neoprene fabric was form fitting yet flexible and very soft.  Fun, flirty, unexpected twist for a cocktail or party dress. Received tons of compliments.  

This dress is neoprene, but it feels amazing on, like a glove. It was a warm day, but the material reacted quite well to it. The color and pattern is BEAUTIFUL and bold. I felt so great in this dress and recommend it! It doesn't suck you in as much as I thought though, so food babies etc. aren't too hidden. 

I rented this for a summer wedding and I loved it! The material is almost scuba like but it turned out to fit perfectly. It's not restricting at all and very easy to move around in. The colors are bold and I got compliments all night! This dress is true to size and since I  am about 5'10 the length was perfect. Would definitely recommend and rent again!

I wore this dress to a May wedding. I have fair skin and dark hair, so I avoid pastels in my wardrobe and loved that this dress had rich, deep purple and deep coral. The thick, flexible scuba-like material made it more formal and chic than it might have been with thinner material. It skims the body but isn't shrink wrap tight. I really liked it and didn't need to add much jewelry or other styling.

A few things you may not be able to tell from the descriptions and/or pictures: The design on the dress is printed and flat, so nothing protrudes. There is also a narrow, black, V-shaped seam along the chest, and another black seam along the hem, almost like the seam you would see on an inside-out garment. Also, the 2 was ironically much tighter than the 0. I saw that another reviewer had the same issue. 

Most comfortable dress ever! Probably would've worn the 0, but the one I was sent was actually larger than the 2! 

I am a curvy girl so it wasn't as loose fitting on me as it was on the model. It fit me like a glove, and i loved it. 

This was a really pretty fun dress. The fit is very snug. I went up a size to be comfortable. If you are tall like me I would highly recommend going up 1-2 sizes. But I was comfortable and loved the dress. Could be dressy or casual depending on how you style it. Racer back bra worked perfectly.

This dress is great! It's made out of a neoprene, wetsuit material which is thick and comfortable. It hugs in all the right places and was not even too short on me, which is unusual. I received so many compliments and would definitely rent it again! 

The material on the dress is similar to a wet suit. I loved the dress and wore it to a rehearsal dinner. I ordered a 2 and a 4 but ended up wearing the 2 because the 4 was too big around the neck. I received numerous compliments and would highly recommend it to other people!

Great dress!  I wore it to a school fundraiser.  The dress was conservative yet fun.  I usually wear a 6 and the dress was true to size.  Scuba material as described in other reviews is accurate but it made the dress very comfortable-lots of dancing is possible.

As previously reviewed, this dress fits like a wetsuit! The material clings to your body and hugs curves almost like thicker spanx. Because of the tight fit, you don't need much underneath. I usually wear a size 4, and I ordered a 4 reluctantly, but the dress I received was true to size.  This dress worked great for my husband's 30th birthday surprise party!

I rented a 0 and a 2 and for some reason the 2 was smaller than the 0. The dress is definitely tight. I'm only 5'2" so it was a little long. I wore with black tights and heels. I felt confident and sexy.

The wet suit material took me off guard at first but it was really warm and comfortable. Got tons of compliments. Very easy to dance in. Rode up a smidge when walking but nothing crazy. Fit like a glove. Great for a wedding you have to travel to as it doesn't wrinkly. There is a sewn 'V' on the chest that I didn't notice on the initial pictures but it almost takes the place of a necklace. Hair up or down works really well. 

The dress fits very snug. I love the length of it, just above my knee I'm 5-5ish. The color was amazing it shimmered in the day light, perfect for the sunset wedding I was at. Dress it up with black heels that match the stitching on the bottom and the neckline and red lipstick and its unforgettable. 
I'm curvy and still liked how it hugged my curves it showed me off without clinging to the bad parts. 
Cynthia Rowley's designs are always impressive and this didn't disappoint as my first RTR purchase.

Loved the print and colors of the dress. Material is a stretchy neoprene, which is comfy, but it definitely hugs your body and so would say if you're not comfortable with that i wouldn't recommend it. Because of the material, also tends to ride up a bit so did have to keep tugging it back down. Spanx recommended!

I generally don't opt for a print (especially a floral this large), but the rental option made it a good time to try something new! The neoprene fabric felt a bit like a wetsuit...it wasn't too constricting though. This shift was very stretchy in case you have some moving/dancing on the agenda! 

I wore this to a John Legend concert at an auditorium, although it would also work nicely for a brunch or dinner out during spring. While the color combo was nice, it wasn't my favorite rental ever 

This is European sizing so the 6 fit like a 2/4. The neoprene wore really nicely and I didn't feel like I needed Spanx because of the thicker fabric. Not sure this would be a good choice for warmer weather. Nice length. Not too short. I wore with the House of Harlow gold cuff and chandelier earrings. 

This is a really cute and fun dress - though not what I was expecting! The dress is basically like a wetsuit--I didn't read the details closely and missed that it was neoprene! Along with the material, the zipper and stitching really are reminiscent of putting on a scuba wetsuit. Although that description might seem like a poor choice for a wedding rehearsal dinner, I was very happy with it. As one might imagine, the neoprene fits snugly. I usually wear a size 0 or 2, but went with the size 4 on this one. The smaller size fit okay, but it was a bit too "glove-like," so I would definitely recommend ordering the backup a size up. One added bonus is that it doesn't wrinkle at all, so if you need to pack it in a suitcase, you can be confident that it will be ready to go when you unpack, even if your suitcase takes a beating

The dress was stunning, but even after ordering BOTH my size and the size up, the dress was just too small. The neoprene bunched terribly around my hips, though the bust fit fine.  I would have been able to wear it for a more casual occasion in a different venue, but the tightness made it very inappropriate for a formal wedding. 

Super thick stretchy material, feels kinda like scuba material. Loved it! I wore it three times!! Twice to work and once to a party. Received lots of compliments on this.very colorful and flattering.

I wore this dress for a bridal luncheon and then throughout the day for the wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.  It was very comfortable and easy to move in.  I ordered the 6 and 8 sizes and ended up going with the 8.  The 6 still fit, as the material is a stretchy neoprene style, but the tighter fit of the 6 highlighted any bumps, etc around my hips.  The 8 still fit my body and lines but was a bit more forgiving.  With a racer-back bra there was nothing that showed.  The dress has such great colors and the fun v-line threading from the neck down meant I could wear very simple shoes and jewelry and just let the dress be the star of the show.  Very happy with this rental.

The material is odd but super comfortable! It was stretchy. The fit was really flattering and my husband loved it!

This was a backup dress I got after my first selection was not available to ship. I was weary at first but once I put it on I felt great! Such a fun, unique dress. The material was actually super comfy and didn't leave any sweat marks even after a long, hot outdoor ceremony. I am usually between a 4 and 6. I ordered a 6 because I was nervous about the fit. It fit me well. I probably could have also worn the 4. Since I don't have much junk in the trunk it bunched a little if I didn't pull it down. I'm thinking the 4 may have been tighter. Either way the 6 was still great. Very stretchy material. I received many compliments on the dress!

I wore this to an engagement party. The fit was pretty tight, a lot tighter than I'm comfortable with. I still wore the dress with a spandex type body suit underneath.  The material is very much like a wet suit and forms to every curve on your body.  Once you get past that, the dress works. 

The dress hugs curves and runs small.   The fabric feels like a swimming wet suit.  The dress also looks and photographs poorly so I'd only recommend this as a vacation dress for comfort only (after sizing up). 

I paired this dress with pumps, a fun necklace and a blazer for work.  Nice high quality material, feels like a scuba suit.  I'm normally a 6 and the 6 fit like a glove.  Colors were pretty.

I really loved this dress! I received so many compliments. While the neoprene fabric was unusual it was very comfortable and really held everything in nicely. The colors were bold but not too in your face even for someone as afraid of color as myself.

This dress fit true to size. I wore it with Spanx to suck my belly in, especially since the dress is very form fitting. The material feels great to the touch and does not wrinkle. 

I really loved the material, it almost felt like a scuba suit. It kept me warm on a chilly Overcast day.  The bottom flared out which I did not care for, other than that is was a great dress.

Fit: I rented the 4 with a back up size 6...both fit perfectly, but I figured I'd go with the 6 in case I needed some expansion room throughout the night, since drinking was involved. The thick neoprene was form fitting and held everything in nicely without making me look or feel like I was in a sausage casing. Ideal length for a slightly formal event, falling just above my knees. 

Material:  Again, the neoprene made it feel like a wetsuit, but it was rather nice actually.  The color of the dress was a vibrant orange and blue, which stood out beautifully in a sea of black and burgundy dresses. The pattern was just the right amount of busy. The dresses came in great condition, with no zipper issues, rips, snags or anything. 

This was a great dress and so easy and comfortable to wear. The bold colors and pattern made such a statement that accessories weren't really needed. I wore it with nude pumps and a very simple, thin gold bangle set. I received compliment after compliment with this dress. Makes me so sad to have to return it. I'd definitely rent this again for any number of occasions!

I loved this dress! With my ever growing baby bump, I needed a dress with stretchy material. This was perfect! I got so many compliments at my baby shower, and I would definitely rent this again, bump or not. 

This dress was perfect for a summer wedding. The neoprene fabric forms to all of your curves and sucks you in but is also delightfully stretchy and easy to move in. I wore it with Spanx for a smoother look and loved the way it hugged my body. Ladies, be prepared to show off your curves! At only 5 feet tall, the dress was a touch long for me, but given the form-fitting nature of the dress it did not need to be short to be hot! (fun fact--the dress my friend is wearing was a RTR too and looked incredible!).

What a wonderful second option dress! Wow I didn't think I would like the scuba material but now I want to find more dresses like this. All night I felt secure and comfortable. I received so many compliments and the color was great! Thankful this size was available so last minute! 

Fun, sexy, comfortable dress which fits like a glove and will make you stand out in the crowd. Scuba material but has no sleeves so you can still keep cool. Amazing color/design scheme which is too memorable and makes for a perfect rental. 

As many others have stated, this is a scuba material which I didn't love but is very flattering! The size zero ran big on me so I would say it runs big for its size.

I ordered this dress for a spring wedding at a warehouse like venue in the city. I loved the fact that it was neoprene type material--thick enough material to smooth you out but not hot at all. The colors were fabulous and vibrant--orange and violet. This runs true to size! I was sad to return it! 

I got this dress after my first choice was unavailable. It is impressively flattering! Pretty colors and amazingly comfortable. Definitely would travel well. And it could easily be dressed up or down. But in the end, I chickened out and didn't wear it for my event. It was just too form fitting for me. My husband and mom were disappointed. :) Maybe for another occasion! But I also didn't love the smell -- it really smells like you are wearing a bathing suit! I got both the 0 and 2, and the fit was extremely similar. Maybe a little more room in the 2, and possibly bigger arm holes, but either would have worked for me. 

The dress quality is amazing ! I'm very skeptical about dresses because I'm curvy and it's hard to find dresses that compliment me the right way but this fabric is amazing ! Hugs the tummy and hips all in the right way ! I recommend this dresses on a date ! 

This fit like a neoprene glove. It really was amazing, and I got plenty of compliments. My only complaint is that it wasn't very forgiving in hugging the not-so-great areas, but well... Spanx make up for lots of that. Overall, I loved it and was very comfortable all evening. It runs true to size, but has some stretch so it easily accommodates different body types. it did cut in just a tad at the front of the armpit, so I found myself adjusting that from time to time, but that was more from consciousness of how it looked, because it wasn't uncomfortable at all. Great dress overall! 

The colors on this dress are great. I loved the orange and the purple. I wasn't wild about the v-shaped seams down the front, and it did smell a bit like a wet-suit. This probably wasn't the right shape/style for me, I have hips and a rear end, so I felt a bit lumpy - but I'm guessing no one else noticed. I also tend to prefer dresses that are more a-line. The 4 fit, but showed every lump, the 6 was much more flattering, though I still wore Spanx.

Like other reviewers have said, the dress was very body hugging and made of neoprene.  It was stretchy and comfortable but was also very tight to my body.  I never wear shapewear products but I bought some control top pantyhose to wear with this dress because it showed every lump or underwear line and I was also going to be outside during a fall wedding.  I don't know if it was the dress or because of the pantyhose but it seemed to creep up and I found myself pulling the skirt down throughout the evening.  I also liked that it was a nice length for being a taller woman.  I liked the print and colors of the dress and also got some compliments on it, including one saying that the dress was "made for me".

It was great that two sizes were sent, I knew I had lost weight, did not know how much, and did not have time to figure it out. The surprise earring were perfect, I would never have picked them on my own.

This was a backup dress as the one I ordered was damaged and would not be available. RTR, as always, did a great job of getting me plenty of options. I am usually a 4, but this was a 6. The 4 would have been a better fit, but the 6 was just fine. This dress has a neoprene (scuba) fabric so it hugs in all the right places. The pics do not do the color justice, the color is beautiful! No necklace needed: earrings and bracelets are all you need!

Playful yet conservative, perfect for a fall wedding. The thicker material really helps as it was 45F that day. Very firm fitting. 

Definitely get a size above. This wet-suit like material clings like a creepy ex boyfriend. I am 5'4'' and it was the perfect length for a wedding- good to dance around in without riding up. 

My husband wants me to buy it!  It's as flattering as you can get.
