do you have pictures of the back of the dress being worn? i'm concerned about it being too low

This Taking It Back Dress is amazing for a night out! The construction is a difficult fit, with the open back, so I would recommend sizing down for your free backup! I would also recommend wearing the nubra or no bra. It's an excellent fabric, and perfect for the fall/winter season!

From the front this dress looks pretty conservative, but the low, open back definitely gives it more of a sexy feel. Typically I'm a size 8 in anything that is fitted through the hips, but since you cannot wear a bra with this dress, I opted for the smaller size and I'm happy I did. While it was a little snug, the material was thick enough to conceal any problem areas and it stretched so I didn't feel like I was wearing the wrong size. If you are smaller busted, this may not be the best fit for you just bc it will gap at the top. Otherwise, I'd highly suggest! 

I have hips and thighs and the two was a perfect fit. I'm tall and the length in sleeves and skirt height was very appropriate with black stockings for my Engagement Party! Stunning 

This dress looks SO elegant from the front, and it's stunning and people are surprised by the back!  I usually wear a 2/4, i wore the 2 and still wished i had gotten the 0 (38) the top because it is open in back is wide and large, the sleeves are VERY long but i folded them under and in and you couldnt even tell. 

I rented this dress for my birthday in New York City and it was a HIT! The open back is a show stopper and it hugs the curves just the right way to accentuate your figure. The dress does in fact run big though. I'm so happy I read the reviews before I ordered my size. I'm normally a size 6 or 8, but after reading the reviews, I ordered a 4 and 6 (40 and 42) and the 4 was perfect! 

Definitely size down 1 to 2 sizes. I wore the dress with black necklace and sheer black tights. If you're looking for a stunning new year's eve dress and don't want the typical sequins, then this dress is perfect! 


Great dress. Short. Could not wear because the sleeves were a bit discoloured!

Loved this sweet little dress. It was perfect for a downtown date at a fancy restaurant. It was slightly itchy but other than that perfect. It looks better in person than pictures can show. I think it's the high quality fabric. 

Beautiful dress.  I was going to use fashion tape to secure the back, but my BF told me that it was supposed to look that way.  Lol  I did leave it the way it was (no tape) but I felt odd because I couldn't feel much of the material on my back.  That made the dress a little uncomfortable to wear. HOWEVER, he was totally right and I got compliments all night! The photo of the model from the back does not show how it actually looks in person.  It has more of a flow in the back.

Dress was very pretty, however I recommend sizing down possibly even two sizes. 

I wore this dress for a date night out with my boyfriend on Valentines day. I'm a smaller bodies person and the arms were quite long on me. But I just tucked them in and no one would have know otherwise. 

My one con is that the back was a little big since it's so open. It messed up the silhouette a bit depending on how you moved. I didn't mind much, because I loved how exposed the back was. The body was very fitted so the larger back wasnt too inconvenient. I enjoyed wearing the dress especially because it was so cold out! 

I was so excited to get this dress because of the back.  When I put it on my boyfriend was convinced I had it on inside out.  After teasing him for not knowing what he was talking about, I took off the dress to check and noticed the exposed seams on the entire back of the dress.  The hem on the sleeves and skirt are also unfinished.  Of course this is just the style of the dress and in no way does is take away from how well made the dress is or how classy it looks when it's on, just be aware.  I am pretty muscly so the sleeves in the 6 were a little tight.  I also think my big shoulders made the large sizing of the dress not an issue.  I would recommend ordering a size down if you're not muscly or broad up top, otherwise the back will slide off your shoulders.  Even with the exposed seams I would order this dress again.

The dress absolutely runs large. I'm really glad I read all the reviews before renting. I wore the dress to my 25th birthday dinner and received tons of compliments. It was really comfortable and easy to wear. The back adds a fun, sexy element too. My only complaint is that the back did not lay flat like it appears on the model. My roommate had to help me safety pin the back so that it wouldn't 'bubble.' I don't know if this happened because I'm shorter or what, but be prepared to do a little taping/pinning with the back.

This was a fun little party dress that I wore to a bachelorette party/rehearsal dinner. The dramatic open back and black and white design made it unique and a hit. The cons are that I had to wear the smaller size (40) that was almost too tight to zip up because the opening in the back is so large. The bigger size (42) which fit better gaped to much and did not look as good. So because I wore the smaller size and am tall I had to do a bit of dress pulling down through the night but it looked great. I also did not wear a bra but you couldn't tell at all. The material is way more sturdy than you think. 

I ended  up not wearing this  dress for the wedding I rented it for. Although it runs large it has a very flattering fit. However, as other reviers have stated the hem and seams have an unfinished look that I wouldn't wear to a formal event.

I ordered this dress but ended up not wearing it. I am typically a 6, so I took the site's advice and sized down, ordering a 6 and a 4. They were both huge. Even if I had ordered the smaller size, the sleeves were way too long on me - past my fingertips. I guess this dress is meant for taller women!

This dress is massive. I rented it for a fraternity formal in Aspen, and I didn't end up wearing it. I generally wear a zero and I was swimming in the 38. The sleeves also had an awkward fit, but that could be because it was too big. Bummer, because it really is a pretty dress. I just wouldn't recommend it for petite girls/smaller frames.

This dress wasn't what I was expecting. It was far more structured than I thought. Also the details on the stitching were unexpected. It reminded me of a wetsuit. Definitely runs large. Get a size down and don't rent it if the second size down is unavailable.

Fit was large and boxy and the quality wasn't up to par! 

I am normally a 6-8 and I ordered an 8 (46). The arms were way too long and the dress was kind of shapeless. Not fitted like the picture. But I didn't have a 6 to compare it to. I also did not like the exposed seams in the back of the dress. Made it look and feel cheap. I ended up not wearing the dress and returning it. Too bad. Looks like it would be so sexy, but it wasn't.

Love the idea of this dress but it just didn't work for me. The dress was too big and the sleeves too long. 

It was very large and gappy in the back and even large in the chest (which mine is huge)! Definitely get a smaller size than you normally would.

The dress was beautiful but it's not as fitting as the pictures. 

The dress runs 2 sizes to big and is not the most flattering dress.


The fit was massive. The smallest size hung on me like a garage bag. The construct of the dress was equally terrible. It looked like it was sown inside out. I would not recommend this dress to anyone with a small frame !

This dress looks really pretty in the picture - but I don't really know what kind of body you need to have for it to fit you. I sized down since the reviews said it ran large - which was a good idea in theory.  However, while it fit through the body, I could have fit another person in the top with me. It was falling off. This was my back-up dress, so it wasn't a huge deal, but I would definitely not rent this on its own.

It definitely runs small. The equivalent to a size 2 fit my body perfect, but I have really broad swimmer's shoulders and the fabric has zero give so my shoulders just couldn't quite fit. The back was super baggy on top though. It just didn't work for my body type. It would look beautiful on someone with slimmer arms and shoulders though.
