Great office dress. Fabric is gorgeous and feels so good on your skin. Requires some pinning up  in the chest area for busty girls in order to make dress work-appropriate 

I loved this dress. It I slight airy and totally kept me comfortable at a rooftop party/work function. The front was a little lower than I expected so more chest was showing, a pin or fashion tape could easily solve for this. I didn't wear a bra but felt fine, just made sure my posture was straight the whole night. The waist has no give, so unless you're tiny, size up. Con - the zipper was horrible to get back down at the end of the night. I had 4 people try to zip it down and nothing. I managed to slip my arm through the front and turn the dress around to find that the zipper was caught on the fabric. Make sure you zip it up and down with care. It was worth it! loved it!

Fit perfectly and was very versatile as well as sophisticated 

This dress was so fun to wear to work, and went straight from that to happy hour with friends. The fit was true to size, but the "belted" waist doesn't  give so was more comfortable before eating. I liked the print and contrasting pattern assembly-- that detail, the interesting waist and split front with ruffle made it a striking dress workable for many different occasions. It can easily be paired with a jacket or sweater for cooler temperatures. Definitely a winner, and I'd rent it again. 

Comfortable and flattering dress.  Fabric is thick and satiny which is a plus because (1) it doesn't wrinkle and (2) it makes it look more expensive/formal.   

This fit perfectly and was just the right amount of formal and feminine. The pattern was suit like but the plunging neckline and ruffle made me feel pretty. The fabric is silk and was lightweight and cool. 

Love this dress, fits very well. The fabric is amazing and I loved the style, very slimming at waist with  pretty ruffles on skirt.  Plunging neckline but always stayed in place, no adjusting  or fashion tape needed. Wore on date night and my husband loved this dress. 

Fits true to size although very snug at waist with no give so I suggest sizing up if you don't have a small waist. Gorgeous dress! Love it for work but will keep and wear it over the weekend too! Wish I could keep this one. Definitely would love to own it!

I love this dress.  The fabric is lustrous.  The style is very flattering, a crossover in the front but not dangerously low (i.e. should keep the girls in without a safety pin).  The waist has an interesting, structured detail.  However, I forgot that Carven tends to have structured/ unstretchy waist lines with ZERO give, and I didn't size up.  I will definitely rent this again... one size up!

Fabulous black & white dress by Carven! We love how comfortably chic this piece is for everyday or a quick brunch. Running true to size we recommend going a size up for a back up. This dress is mainly fitted in the waist providing some stretch along the remainder of the garment. This dress falls right below the knee with a hidden back zipper. Pair with a great bold lip & your favorite heels and enjoy the day!

What a beautiful dress in a lovely soft fabric. I'm a size 6, so should be a 38, but I got a 40 based on reviews and European sizing. The 40 was perfect. The top does open up easily, so I wore a low cut cami underneath, which was necessary to avoid it opening up to fully reveal my bra. It's the reason I don't give this dress 5 stars,  but it's pretty close to it!

This dress fit well enough, but there were a few issues, like the seemingly excess material at the top of the dress at the back. I don't think I could have gone down a size because it would have been too tight in the shoulders... and I don't have very broad shoulders. And it was a little snug in the boobs, to the point I had to use fashion tape to keep my bra from showing. But it hangs beautifully. And I got tons of compliments!

The dress is gorgeous - the fabric feels amazing and it has lots of fun design details - but as others have noted, the waist is quite snug fitting. I'm small up top, so the chest was also a bit billowy and the proportions weren't quite right, so I didn't end up wearing it. 

Great fit and the quality of material was perfect. Loved the dress so much. 

Drapes beautifully, a little small in the ribcage.

Defintiely had to wear a black tank underneath and it was a tad baggy in chest, but still really cute.

This was by far my favorite rental yet! It is a bit low cut, but I wore a black sports bra underneath and that covered enough to make it work appropriate - for a summer event, it's not necessary. It's light, flowy, and just kinda makes you feel pretty. No stretch though, so order your size. 

Beautiful dress! As soon as I figure out which size fits me best, I'm buying it. Im short waisted and petite, so even though I got a size 38 which should have fit, I had too much extra material around the shoulders. The waist is also very tight and unforgiving. Sadly, I couldn't pull off the material bunched behind my shoulders so I'm sending it back but intend to try the 40 to see if the waist being slightly larger will make any difference. 

Wore it to a gallery opening event.  A very cute dress, with interesting details and great silky material. One note is that it fits true to size everywhere except the rib cage.  I could barely breathe and barely zip it up in that area.  I would order your extra one size up just to be sure.

The quality and style of this dress are amazing. So far one of my favorite dresses I've rented. It was lightweight and the fabric was comfortable. I originally ordered the 36 and I couldn't zip it up (I have broad shoulders), so I re-ordered the 38 and it was perfect. Will definitely rent again.

I'm going to have to add a photo later, but I'm seriously considering buying this dress. I can't bring myself to send it back forever. It is absolutely stunning and one of the most amazing dresses I've ever worn. Do yourself a favor and rent this one. I've gotten so many compliments on it every time I've worn it. It really stands out. It does gap a little at the bust, but fashion tape fixes that.

Perfect summer work dress. Very fitted in the waist with no stretch, so consider this when sizing.  At 5-8, the waist hit me at the bottom of my rib cage. The top was a little big, but fine with a cami underneath.  Fabric wrinkles easily, too.

Fits true to size, great dress to wear to work and then after work! Wish I could add this to my closet. 

The waist line could be a bit tight. In general, it is a nice work dress for casual Friday. It goes with heels as well as sneakers.

Material is gorgeous- very thin and flowing but not at all transparent or clingy. Elegant and transitions well with jacket during day to out later. You will need double sided tape for the front cross over. If you don't have a small waist size up.

Love this dress! It's so flattering! Comes with a built in slip, which is nice as the skirt can really fly open when you sit down. The waist is really tight and has zero give, so maybe size up if you are more apple shaped. Fabric is so light, making it a really great summertime dress.

Great quality, fits a little tightly at the waist but also very flattering (not suuuper forgiving but the pattern is distracting), edgy but sophisticated, stand-out. I'm a DDD and it's great for busty women.

The material is sooooo nice . I'm 5 feet tall so the top part puckered a little but it didn't deter me from wearing it THREE times. The ruffles flow when you walk and lay beautifully. I would definitely rent this again! 

Wore with a black blazer to work. Lovely fabric and great fit! May rent again when it warms up a bit.

not sure what 38 is equal to in US sizes, but i'm typically a 4 and remember that i usually size up for carven since the waist on most of their dresses has no give. the 38 fit great with room to room to move and eat comfortably. it's a midi dress on me since i'm short, but i wore high heels and it worked out beautifully. there is a gap in the top that slouches forward so i wore a cami under so i wouldn't expose myself. love the pattern and details. this is an amazing dress for a work meeting. highly highly highly recommend!

I felt very stylish and wore this to work with pumps and a blazer and then to a day brunch with sandals the next day. It looks very tailored. The only thing I could have used was an extra inch or two at the waist, which sits a bit higher (empire) but still very narrow--13" flat. 

Pretty fabric and great fit everywhere, except the bust. I ordered a 38, weigh about 140 @ 5'7, with  32 DDD bust. It was so tight over the bust that I couldn't even pull the fabric together to try to pin it. The waist has no give but really holds you in! 

I did not wind up able to wear this. It fit very well at the waist and hips, and was flattering there, but it was too wide at the shoulders and cut too low for work. The material was very silky and smooth. It would be good for work on the right person.

This definitely ran small.  I would recommend sizing up due to the fact that the strap around the middle had no give to it.
