I never wear a strapless dress, as I am busty, and always feel as though I will end up adjusting myself the entire night - well, not in this dress. While this dress size runs smaller than most, I typically wear a 2, 4, or small, and XS even in other BCBG apparel. However; I chose a 6 based on other reviews and it was almost perfect! A tiny bit tighter than perfect, but the next size up might not have hugged in my curves as well as the size 6. The top of the dress, at the bust, feels as thought you are being held up by a corset, which was perfect so I didn't have to worry about it falling down. I received compliments all night long and felt like a million bucks! In fact, much so that I searched the internet to find someone selling this dress so I could own it. You will own the night in this dress, just read plenty of reviews before selecting your size. 

Runs small, so size up. I’m 5’3” 110# and usually wear a 2. Wanted to upsize to a 4, but there were none left. The 6 actually worked out fine but had maybe a little more “give.” Didn’t matter though. I LOVED this dress. 

The dress is unbelievably flattering and the cut is sexy yet elegant. Wore with black patent leather pumps and a cape for dinner at Per Se. Only reason for a 4 vs. 5 star is the fit - the dress runs small as I am usually a 2 or 4 and the 4 was VERY snug. Though it wasn't necessarily uncomfortable, it was quite difficult to get on, particularly if you have larger legs/butt. Good for smaller chests as well as I didn't have to wear a bra and didn't have to constantly pull up either - would rent again! Would recommend to size up.

So in love with this dress!  Had numerous compliments the entire night.  Would highly recommend!!! The size 4 actually was smaller in the waist and a tighter fit than the size 2.  Size 4 was a perfect fit. 

Got sooo many compliments on this dress!!! I usually wear a 4, but the 6 was a much better fit. Only downside is the zipper in the back seemed to shift to the left and was not straight down the middle of my back. Not sure if it's just the way the dress is made, but it was very obvious.

This dress hides all the flaws!! The only issue was it kept folding down at the top. You can see in the photo. It wasn't that comfortable but it was worth it for its camouflage benefits!

This is the only size 12 dress that I ever got from RTR that I couldn't zip up. Maybe the smaller sizes are a better fit, but I would size up to be on a safe side. The quality of the dress was great and I liked the color but not able to wear it in the end.

This fits small! Reserve someone to help you get it on and off :) my hips butt are 37' waist 26' and bust 33' bra size 34 b and no room for a bra :) loved it though!! Size up!!

I wore it to my sorority formal. I'm usually a size 2 but this size 4 was really really tight on me. However, it was beautiful and I got lots of compliments that night. I wore it with a necklace also rented from RTR. Definitely recommend renting it but definitely go 2-4 sizes up

It was a fabulous fit, made me look so voluptuous and slender. Very flattering fabric, and accentuated the bust area great :) Only complaint was that I was constantly adjusting the top, but otherwise it was a winner!

It fits nice. The zipper was difficult to manage. Great dress for new years eve party.

It took two people to zip this dress, even in the larger size. Absolutely zero stretch. Once it was on the dress was relatively comfortable. Very flattering cut and long enough to dance in.

Ran very small, but  it is a beautiful and well-made dress. Do size up if you have an hourglass shape or a little chesty on top. This dress is made to fit like a second skin and you have to do the "jean dance" to get it on, but once you do it's actually very comfortable. Ordered this same designer in the past and a size 6 was like it was made for me. Could not even get the size 6 over my hips on this one. I am 5'4" 137lbs. 34D. I was able to wear the 8, but would have liked to have seen what a 10 would have felt like. I never had the issue of having to pull on the top through the night. Really glad I rented it though and  received many complements. 
                                                                                                                                       

I loved this dress. I wore it as a bridesmaid in my brothers wedding, but it has definitely seen better days. The boning was fairly misshapen and the top was very stretched out. I used fashion tape to prevent the top from flipping down like I saw in lots of the other reviews, but it was loose and I'm not small chested... Despite all that, it was a knockout and I felt beautiful in it. Would have loved to wear it new! It ran fairly small as everyone noted, but I actually wish I could have tried the 4 just to see if that would have solved some of the issues with the top sliding around. 

I read the reviews and trusted that this dress runs smalls, so I ordered accordingly and ended up wearing the larger of the two sizes.  The zipper was very stubborn (even when I wasn't IN the dress) and clearly I'm a bit too busty (plus as an athlete I have a wide upper back), but it was VEGAS so there's no such thing as too busty.  Nevertheless, the dress looked great and if it weren't for the mega-cleavage it would be a very classy dress.

This dress was actually a backup-backup style for me.  The original style I picked was returned late so the stylists at RTR chose another dress to overnight me but it was several sizes too large.  That being the case, RTR said that they would overnight me yet another style of my choice up to twice the cost of my original pick for free (you guys are the best!).  So when the backup they sent me didn't fit I called customer service and requested this dress, which I had found on the site that morning.  
The 2 fit like a glove on my curvier/athletic bottom half (thick thighs and butt with a tiny waist).  The top half was a little looser though; my bra size is between an A and a B and I almost wore a strapless bra and cutlets to fill it out.  I ended up wearing just the bra but had to use fashion tape to make sure it stayed up.  Like many other reviews have said, the band at the top of the dress seemed a little stretched out and tends to roll down (reason for 4 stars vs. 5).  I had to adjust it several times throughout the night but ultimately the fashion tape helped a lot.  If you have more of a chest than me I don't think you'll experience that problem as much.
For other general fit notes, the dress material wasn't too heavy or stiff and it was easy to move around in.  The bottom opening of the dress is meant to be wider so you have some room to move your legs/dance/sit.  I typically like styles that are tighter around my thighs but the extra width at the bottom made the dress great for a wedding--still sexy but not too over the top to upset grandparents.  The color is a beautiful light gold/champagne color.  I was afraid it would blend in too much with my skin tone but the fabric has just enough sheen that even the palest of girls can wear it and still look great.  I wore the dress with a statement-y black and gold necklace from Topshop (not pictured) and was told all night that I looked like Cleopatra.  Would definitely recommend.

Definitely echo what everyone else says to order up a size.   I normally wear a 6 and even though my hips are not wide, I couldn't even get the 6 over my hips.  The 8 was still snug in the hips and had a little extra space in the bust, but with a strapless bra, it was great.   Dress is well made and looks great on.  Boning is also a bit awkward as it appears to hit in the wrong area, but overall I was very happy with the dress.

I wore this to a formal work event and received so many compliments. I typically wear a 4 but since this is a very fitted dress and I have larger hips and a booty I wore the 6 and it was perfect. I would highly recommend, I felt beautiful and sexy but not over the top. Very well made also, love love love!!!

Dress is snug, get your no crap size...the picture does not do it justice. 

PROS: The dress is gorgeous, very fitting and a true champagne color. 
CONS: is that it runs small, I wear a size 8 normally but this felt more like a 6. The upper rim lining the breast near the armpits had a tendency to fold over which was a pain to check and shift all night. Also, I couldn't pull it up past my hips, so I had to put the dress on over my head which was quite a challenge, but with no backup sizes available when I reserved it I had to make it work! And work it, I did! I received compliments all night. 

Amazing fit!!! I got SOOOO many comments on this dress...!! It was so easy to accessorize and I felt so amazing in it! Highly recommend!! 

I ordered this dress in size 6 and 8 and wore the 8.  I'm 68 years old with an athletic body so I was able to carry it off and received lots of compliments. It was very form fitting and somewhat tight but I had no problem sitting or moving about in it.    It wasn't necessary to wear a bra because it was so fitted.  I didn't feel totally comfortable though,  mostly because the dress was obviously well worn and starting to lose it's shape. The inner boning was beginning to fold over at the top edge and at the inside waist.  The zipper was very hard to maneuver and looked as though  it had been repaired.  Overall, I was  happy with the dress and the RTR service and will order again for the next 3 weddings coming up. 

Definitely go a size bigger! Usually I am a size 4, but after reading all the reviews, I didn't even try putting on the 4. I don't have much of a rear end, and I still had to wiggle my butt to get into it. I was worried about too much boob peaking out of the top, so I spent a lot of time pulling it up, but I probably would have been fine just to leave it alone and let my husband do hand-signals to let me know if/when I needed to adjust. This dress was not my first choice, or even my second choice, but I am so glad it worked out that way because of the 3 dresses, this one was definitely the one with the highest vava-voom factor. Most importantly was the customer service RTR provided. If I ever had my own company, I would model this company's service. I can't say enough about how incredible they were, especially at crunch time! I was so impressed, that I told my whole story to my friends on FB. Without telling the whole story, I'll just say that the first dress I got didn't fit, so they overnighted me another dress (actually 3 different sizes of the same dress) and it was literally on my doorstep 15 hours after I contacted RTR (my reunion was that very day). I was blown away. What an awesome company! Extra special thanks to Nastassja H. She pulled off a miracle!

When other reviews say this dress runs small they aren't lying.  I typically wear and 8.  I rented the 8, and a 12 because the 10 was already taken.  The 8 was so tight I couldn't even completely put it on.  The 12, two sizes up from my normal size, was a little loose on top but fit perfectly on my lower half so I suspect the 10 wouldn't have worked if I'd gotten that one. 

I was nervous the color of the dress wouldn't look good with my lighter tone but took a chance and was pleasantly surprised.  I'm sure it would have looked better if I had a smidge of a tan but I was happy none the less.  

I had been eying this dress to rent for a while now and I am thrilled I finally did.  When I was all made up I felt like a million bucks and it certainly helped that I got a ton of compliments on my dress. I honestly think that the way I felt in that dress is partly why my event was the most successful yet.  

This was my third time renting, and as predicted, Rent the Runway didn't disappoint! I wore this to a cocktail-attire benefit gala. Some were dressier, some were not so dressy and this was a perfect middle-of-the-road.   My typical dress size is a four, but after reading the reviews I selected a six as a back-up. THANK GOODNESS. The six was snug but comfortable. It fit right in all the right places. There was a lot of tugging throughout the night on the top half, but that's typically the case with a strapless dress. 

There's no give in this dress, so order your true size. The dress kept rolling down in the front, so I kept having to pull it up all night. It's gorgeous material and design though

Quite form fitting through the body and legs.  A little looser in the top.  Then again, I am an apple shape, so that might just be me.  Great vibrant gold color.  Would rent again.

I wore this dress to my company holiday party. I got lots of complements from people. Reviews said it runs small s so I ordered a 4 and 6. Ended up wearing the 4. It was a snug in the chest area so I ended up not wearing a bra.  As with all strapless dresses I was pulling it up through out the night. I didn't like how the top edges of the dress rolled down. Sadly this curling over of the material  was noticed in a few pictures during the night.  Overall I really like the dress and felt great wearing it. 

The dress was different in a good way! It does run small so I ordered the 6 and 8 and wore the 8.
I even fit into a four at times. I had to keep pulling the top up during the night but that happens with strapless. If I went the size down, I think the hip area would have been uncomfortable. 

People kept asking about the dress- people my age (30's) older, women, men.
I will absolutely be renting again from Rent the Runway!

I ordered a 4 and a 6.  I fit into both, but ended up wearing the 6 so I could breathe and sit down. :)  The six was a tad big on the top, but the dress fits like a corset.  Still, it has a "wow" factor that you just can't beat!

I ordered a 2 and 4 because the reviews said it runs very small. The first size 2 I received was completely stretched out in the stomach area and the 4 was huge!! After speaking to an amazing girl at RTR she sent me another size 2 and 2 additional back up dresses to choose from. The second size 2 was better but I disagree with the reviews that said it doesn't give. The dress had plenty of room in the stomach still... I will say this it is HARD to zip but once it's zipped up it fits like a glove. Already rented the and dress for another wedding!! You will not be disappointed in this one!


Loved this dress. It is a tight fit with almost no give. I would recommend sizing up. 

I absolutely loved the fit of this dress. It did run small however it still was amazing and looked amazing. There is absolutely ZERO stretch in the fabric but once it is on it is surprisingly comfortable despite the lack of stretch. Also the color and design pattern is so flattering. 

I truly loved this dress; however, it was extremely fitted which made it a little uncomfortable.  I guess it's true when they say "it doesn't matter if it hurts as long as you look beautiful."  The size 6 was super fitted and the size 8 was really loose on me so obviously I wore size 6.  Overall I liked it, I felt beautiful, sexy and classy. 

The dress was perfect a little uncomfortable in the breast area. I fixed it by putting some double tape and it hold up better. 

Construction was a lot different than I expected from the pictures. It's more a black dress with champagne bands sewn onto it than loosely connected champagne bands with a black liner peeking through. (That doesn't seem like such a big deal until you have to figure out what color shoes to wear.)

It definitely runs small. I'm a firm 2, and ordered a 4 as a back-up based on other reviews. I didn't even bother trying on the 2. The 4 fit just right once we got the zipper up. The dress was snug all over EXCEPT at the bust. I didn't quite have enough assets to fill out the cups and the wire at the top beneath the shoulders was rolling down on both sides. I did have to do a bit of tugging throughout the night. There was no risk of flashing anyone, but I was definitely showing far more liner than the designer probably intended.

The dress material is pretty heavy, but if you have a belly at all, you may want to consider pulling on some shapewear.

It's a flattering dress, but I'm gun-shy about the brand's sizing now. I'll probably avoid BCBG/Max Azria dresses in the future.
