Perfect fit. I am short 5'3" and worried about the length but glad I read reviews since there weren't petites available. It fit perfect and because the front is higher I wasn't tripping. I wore a 3' inch heel which helped.   I am a pear shape as well and this complimented my figure perfect. 

I wore this for a formal night at a sorority convention. The 8L was not my first choice in length, but with 4" heels it wasn't too bad. Make sure you have time to press/steam before wearing as the back has a teeny tiny train that wrinkled in the delivery bag. 

Beautiful color and flattering lines. I love this dress. It's simple yet has very unique foods and features that make it special. 

Loved this dress! The material is kind of thin but it is an absolutely beautiful blue that really pops in photographs. I tripped on the high-low hem a few times while dancing, but overall really loved this look.

This dress was great! Fit extremely well except that it was too big under the arms & had to use fashion tape. Received a number of compliments. Definitely recommend renting for a special occasion! 

I absolutely loved this dress!! I wore it to the Make A Wish gala in Chicago a few weeks ago. I got compliments all night long. The 4 was a perfect fit. I'm a 34D so I couldn't fit a bra, but the silicone nipple covers were perfect. I'm 5'5 and wore 4" heels. Perfect length. I seriously wanted to cry when I sent it back! 

If you are not 6', do not go for the long one... the long version is really long and the people might step on it.

I felt so special wearing this! It's a vibrant color, flattering fit and fun details. Rent this!  

I wore this to my junior prom and I definitely stood out - in a good way! I ordered both the 4R and 6R and I ended up wearing the 6R because it was a little looser around my stomach which allowed for more room to dance. Both dresses fit wonderfully though. This dress made me feel so beautiful and I received so many compliments! I definitely recommend this dress to everyone. You will feel like a princess I promise. 

I wore this to my senior prom. It was an absolutely stunning dress, I got so many compliments and it stood out in all of the picture. The color is very vibrant and beautiful. It fit like a glove too! The fabric was nice and sturdy also. Would definitely rent again

If you're a double 00, or on the border like me a size 0 will be a little big, but people won't notice. I loved this dress! I didn't get to try it on first, but it came out great. It does have a slit, but as shown by the pics it doesn't really show, the black streak does instead. I felt sexy but modest at the same time. It was great!

Gorgeous dress! Color -- really popped my blue eyes. Halter top is perfect for my build -- small waist and chest. Bottom half of dress adds a little edge/fun. Fabric is a perfect weight -- supports yet still flows and is very comfortable. If I rented this dress again I would wear a strapless bra as I am very small chested and it would have filled the top out a little more. Received lots of compliments -- many thanks to Jared Gilbert for picking out this perfect dress for me!  

The dress looks different on the hanger. I think it was true to size and I was still able to wear a strapless bra with it. It is a stunning shade of royal blue and the fabric was perfect for a winter formal. It was a pleasant alternative to a black dress. I received numerous compliments at the charity ball. It was comfortable and the train didn't seem to get in the way, as it appears.  
Only con: it does wrinkle easily, but I don't think it took away from the dress.

Oh this dress is gorgeous!  It is so unique and beautiful.  I highly recommend it.  I am slim through the top and tend to carry a little more weight in my lower section.  So this dress was a perfect fit.  It fits slim through the top area and then the lower half flows outward to hide the hip area.  Definitely glad I ordered the long as the regular may have hit me at my knees.  Having long legs, the talls are always on order.  I was given compliments all night long!  

I wore this for my company's annual sales gala. Was on stage to hand out awards with stage lighting. Had so many people come up to me afterwards and tell me how beautiful my dress was. Many took pictures and showed them to me. In the bright lights it had a nice sparkle and stood out from everyone in black. I purchased an inexpensive crystal pin to put at the waist and had sparkly red shoes. Made the whole look perfect.  Zipper is difficult and as to get help but fit like a glove. I got the long one and I am 5'5". Could have been a bit longer with my high heels

I absolutely LOVED this dress! I wasn't sure how it would look on me since I'm pretty curvy, but it was perfect. The area around the bust gaped a bit, but not enough for anyone to notice. It was super comfortable (no Spanx required either!) and I got so so many compliments. I would definitely rent this dress again!

I wore this dress to a formal New Years Eve party. The fit was amazing, the color was absolutely stunning. It was comfortable to wear and I danced all night! 

This dress was so chic! It was comfortable, and honesty I could have gone with a 2 or a 4- 4 gave me a little more room which I liked. I didn't notice a huge difference between the long and regular styles- they both seemed to hit around the same length. I'm 5'7" and wore a 3 inch heel and the dress just missed the ground in the back. You could even pair it with a statement necklace! 

I wore this to a formal Christmas party. The theme was Red Carpet and this was the perfect dress for it. It's very elegant and classy. Received many compliments. It was a little room-y in the chest area ( I'm a 34B) but not enough that it bothered me and nothing showed. I wore a padded strapless bra just to feel more secure but honestly would have been fine without one. A dress size smaller would have been too tight in the waist for me. There's not much wiggle room so your true size and maybe a size up for back up. I'm 5'6", 155lbs, and wore 3 inch heels and the gown barely touched the floor. It was perfect! And bonus: it sways when you walk :) 

This dress stole the show! Love the dress and its easy to move around with. I was on a stage before packed audience and the dress was adored by everyone.

Wow! Dress is stunning. Blue color is gorgeous and material has excellent structure. Back side train drag the floor a little bit but it was not bothersome. No tripping while dancing either! This dress is magnificent. No cons. 

This gown is perfect for the petite ladies as it has the high-low skirt, allowing you to walk easily without tripping while appearing very stylish. There is no give to this dress, so I would size up, but overall it is quite comfortable. The color and sheen of the fabric are the showstopping elements of this dress. I received compliments on it all night and I was really happy with out it held up sitting through an opera and then to dinner. It doesn't wrinkle easily!

I felt like a princess in this gown. I got so many compliments!! This was my back up dress and glad I chose this one. I will definitely order again! 

Ultimately I ended up choosing another dress to wear because I loved it more but it was a tough decision. This is a gorgeous dress and it is so comfortable to wear.

The dress was a show stopper!  Looks great in photos.  Wore 2 inch heels - perfect.  Even took off my shoes towards the end of the night, and the dress did not drag on the ground.   I usually wear a size 8, but I ended up wearing the size 6.  I have 34B bust, and there was a little wiggle room in the upper back / chest area.  Did not wear a bra, bra tape, nothing. The dress was quite comfortable and light.  The dress was a tad wrinkled, so we tried to steam it, but we were not very successful.  But that was okay since the wrinkles were not very noticeable.  I'm now a converted Rent The Runway user and have told all of my friends about it! 

It does run small and short, It touched the floor before I put my 4" heels on then was a couple inches off the ground. No worries though, I received compliments all night. The material and color are stunning. I loved this dress! 

I am extremely flat chested and have a small waist. However, I have a very large bottom half. This dress fit incredible. I ordered my standard size 6 and a 4l. The 6 was too large on my top half and a bit short for the stilettos I wore. The 4l was, to my surprise, perfect. The top was just right with a padded bra ( of course) and the waist was svelte. With high heels the back of Dress just swept the floor. If you have a similar shape as me - this is your dress! I felt beautiful. I am 5'5" and weigh 140lbs. I have an an A cup. I hope you love it too! 

This is a beautiful gown! I wore it to a modern art museum gala. It fit beautiful and had a unique sculptural design and structure to it. I received many compliments on the striking blue color and it stood out from a sea of black formal gowns. It was comfortable and I was able to dance in it all night. 

I rented two other dresses. Beautiful, but neither fit. So I quickly emailed RTR customer service because it was so late at night no one was at the office/phone! Over night customer service answered me. I called at 9 am on Thursday, and they were amazing. I had  rented this one a few months ago... So, I asked Norma of customer service to send it to the hotel in St. Louis-- about 1300 miles away from where I am!!!-- for the next day. They did! It fit beautifully! I love this dress-- the color, the high cut. Its so beautiful and flattering. BTW, I am older then most RTR clients (54) and maybe rounder (am about 20 pounds overweight by today's measures, I think.) This dress was show stopping! I did have to wear high heals, of course. Can't say enough about customer service or about this dress! Rent it! MHS

Stunning formal hi-low dress from Badgley Mischka! Running large, we recommend going one size down for backup. With no stretch in the fabric and a tighter fit in the bust, this dress is better for smaller cup sizes. The midsection is not fitted and with the fuller skirt this allows comfortable room for full hips. If you’re curvier, you may want to consider sizing true to size due to the fitted bust area. You can wear a NuBra or strapless bra with this dress because of the neckline and thin straps. My favorite part is the hi-low ruffle detail in the front. If you are taller, this dress would hit a little higher with the front ruffle. This dress is stunning and perfect for black-tie weddings, red carpet events and formal holiday affairs. It would look best with black heels and a statement clutch. 


Ended up wearing this to the Emmys. I'm 5'2 and this dress fit perfectly with a pair of 3inch heels. The dress is a true cobalt blue in person. 

I wore this dress to the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards at Microsoft Theater, and I received numerous compliments! The dress is very elegant, and I love the manner in which it flows. The fit was great, very comfortable. I rented a size 2R, and it fit me perfectly. The length was great, and the fact I had on 4.5' inch heels helped. Simply put, this dress was a dream, and people would not stop complimenting me on how gorgeous it was. I felt like a princess!

Wore to a charity gala- got so many compliments. Gorgeous dress and color! This was the  end of the night when I'd switched into my flip-flops!

I loved this dress! It was true to size. I have a large chest, but it fit nicely. Everyone was telling me what a beautiful color it was. It really stood out!! I am doing the unlimited subscription right now and it is so easy and I always have what I need for my events! 

Such a great fit. I'm usually a size 2-4, and the two fit perfect! Maybe just a tiny bit tight, but 4 would be too large. Now I am a short girl (5'3") and this dress just trailed a tiny bit, albeit I was wearing large heels, so be wary of that. All in all, such a beautiful and comfortable dress.

This dress is beyond words. It made me feel like a million bucks. Never have I ever received so many compliments in my life! The electric color, flow, and symmetry, everything was GRAND! Such a beautiful gown. However I have a very small chest. So the armpit areas had too much fabric for me. In the first picture, you can see where I had to stitch the material together on both sides. It wasn't ideal but after the small modification, it was a dream gown. Absolutely a show stopper. If you want to be the belle of the ball, this is absolutely the gown. Not to mention dancing in it was SO much fun! I made the best decision renting this gown.

Fits pretty tight in the bust but was perfect for me! Beautiful color also! I loved it!

I loved the color SO much! Sadly the 2P was too large for me, so I didn't end up using the dress. 

This came as a back up and I wished it had fit better as I would've worn it. Too large in the bust from, but a size small would've been too tight in the waist.  Had my bustier sister try it on and she had the same problem. For someone of different proportions it would be perfect for a formal occasion. Lightweight, and somewhat conservative. Very classy.

Dress fit true to size. Not a ton of flexibility, but the ruffle starts at a spot that helps cover a little tummy. Small hole at the base of the zipper, but I fixed it. Very flattering - tons of compliments. Did not want to take it off and rerun it!

I wore the larger size, but it was still difficult to zip up. The top was very tight under the bust line, but under my armpits it was a bit big. I would recommend going a size up. Length wise it touched the floor with 3 inch heels on. 

Overall I loved the dress!  It was stunning and was stopped several times for compliments.   The color really pops and a small statement broach was the only thing needed.

That being said,  the fabric of the dress was not soft or silky to the touch as the photos make the dress look.  

Also, I thought the dress would be floor seeping but it isn't.  I'm a 36DD and it made the top fit tighter.

I am a 34DDD (which isn't even an option for bra size on this form, ahem, hint hint, RTR) and always have a hard time finding dresses that are fun and not too matronly. This dress was the perfect solution to that problem and also perfect to wear to a black tie wedding in NYC. Pictured is the 10 sans bra-- I ended up wearing the 12 because I feel more comfortable in a bra-- but both were totally wearable. The only complaint I had (which is a testament to how well made this dress is) is that the fabric is quite stiff and can be a little uncomfortable at times. Otherwise, total hit!
