Green Light Ahead Gown

The dress runs a but small, but it is very flattering. It gives a nice shape and it was a very comfortable dress. I danced all night!

I absolutely loved the dress! The color was exactly how it looks on the website (was worried it might be a different shade based on customer photos...like mine) but they did an excellent job showing the dress how it really looks. I wore a 20W and did not need to try my 22W. I'm typically a 16/18, but my stylist told me these dresses run a bit small so I had to compensate. It was a little big in the bust area, but fit very well in the waist, which was my main focus because I wanted to be able to zip it up. No need to worry about the hip measurements because the dress has a very free flowing bottom half. I enjoyed wearing it and I received so many compliments! I can't wait to rent another stunner!! :-)

This dress is gorgeous! I loved the emerald green color and the fabric is beautiful. I rented it for a formal dinner to celebrate LGBT equality in my state. I'm glad I ended up ordering this is in a 14, 16 and 18 - even though I normally wear a 12. I'm glad I rented the 18 because I needed it --- the "waist" of the dress hit at exactly my ribcage, which is wide. The 18 fit perfectly in that sense, but was a little loose up top as a result. Additionally, I should have rented the longer length, but it wasn't available in the 18 for my event. I improvised by wearing flats instead of heels!

I needed a flowing gown that had a simple silhouette because I was creating a sari-inspired look. The Go-To Girls at RTR helped me narrow down my choices to this halter cut, flowing, emerald green gown. The first one I chose in a 12L was way too small. I forgot that formal wear does not always fit the same way as normal wear! In everyday clothes, I wear 12 and 14. It was also Thanksgiving, so that really stressed me out. However, it all got resolved on Black Friday: RTR shipped out 2 dresses- this one in a 16L AND a gorgeous strapless version in an 18L. They promised a delivery no later than noon on Saturday (the day of our 2:30 PM event). As promised, it arrived at 11 AM. Both gowns fit perfectly, and I stuck with my original choice, mainly because it looked better with the vintage dupatta (ornate scarf from India) I had to drape over it. Unfortunately, it hides most of the gown, but some of it does peek out. The length of the gown was perfect, and I am 5'-10" and wore ballet flats. (So, If you are tall, please order the gown in Long.) I have holiday parties coming up, and can't wait to use RTR again!!! xoxo

I originally ordered a size 20 thinking there'd be no problem with fit, however it was waay too small. This dress definitely runs small. However, rtr overnighted me the next size up and it fit so much better. We had a great time at this 40s themed event and I received lots of compliments throughout the evening on both the dress and my vintage hat.

I felt like the sizing was a little off - I had to go up two sizes than I normally wear (usually wear a 14) so I'm glad I got the extra size! Overall, the dress was very comfortable and flowed beautifully. Such a vibrant color! I wore gold shoes and gold earrings.

After seeing this dress online, I had to have it; it was absolutely perfect! I rented the 16L and the 18R for my senior prom, along with the Glitz gown as the backup. The 16 wouldn't even zip, so I would have had to go with the 18. I am very high waisted (empire waist gowns fit me like natural waist gowns!), so when I first placed the band around my waist, I hated the dress. The bust was loose and bunched up. I pulled the dress down where my waist should be (but isn't) and Tah-Dah, the dress looked 100X better. It was definitely very fitted around that band, but looked lovely. I was not a fan of how low the underarms went (you could almost see my bra), but everything else was fine. It came down to being able to rent this dress again to wear to a formal wedding, etc. vs the Glitz gown, which is a lot more formal. Overall, this is a quality dress and would have worn it given the absence of the waist problems. The regular length was fine without heels, but would have been too short with heels on.

I usually wear a 16 or 18 but with this dress I had to go with a 20. Not because of the bust or hips but because the waist is not proportioned to the rest of the dress or the size. It's a lot of fabric, which hides imperfections but does not work well with a larger bust because the extra fabric to make the pleats doesn't really give you definition on top therefore looking a bit bulky. Overall it's a great dress.

I loved the way it fit, I felt very glamorous and I loved the color! Regular length was the perfect length for me with heels. I had gained a few extra pounds over the winter so the size 16 ended up fitting me better than the 14.

I am 5'6", wear a 14/16 normally and I have an hourglass figure with DD breast. All the previous reviews let me know that the dress ran small in chest and that if I wore any type of heel to go with 16 long. I am so happy because the dress fit me like it was tailor made for me. If you have any kind of middle weight or thick ribcage area I would suggest going up 2 sizes. Thank you to all the previous reviewers and to RTR for making life more simple for these stressful yet fun times in life.

This dress is one I was so happy I fit in, and fit well for my size. I am a 40 DD bust, waist 38 inches and hips/butt 51". This dress is snug beneath the bust line, but with a full body spanx I was fabulous. The bra has to be a racer back as the dress is a cut to show more shoulder which does not allow for normal bra style; or you can do what I did and wore a regular nude bra and had my fiance tie the straps together in the back. The flow to this dress hides a multitude of imperfections: bigger tummy, bugger thighs, and bigger buttocks. Everyone as the Wedding rehearsal told me that the color, style and fit of this dress was the perfect fit! They all were so happy I had found this dress and asked where I had found it and how much it cost considering who it is made by. I was never so pleased to tell someone that it was a rented dress for $70-80; this started a topic of conversation and allowed so many others in the room that night to find out about rent the runway. Thanks so much for including larger women in your collection these days. I felt like a million bucks in this dress. P.S. I was even more excited to be watching my regular TV series, "Beauty and the Beast" and see the main actress wearing this dress in one of their last episodes this season...I felt like a star then! Thanks again.

I was looking forward to wearing this dress to prom, but it was surprisingly small...WAY small. Color and style is beautiful, but you definitely need to go up a size or two.

I am very sad I couldn't fit the dress. It arrived a day earlier than expected and I tried it on and it was to small. I normally wear a 14. my wedding dress was a 16 so I didn't understand why this dress didn't fit ? RTR next day me same dress in a different color. Overall the dress is gorgeous in person.

The dress was beautiful and at size 16L was a little tight at the waist. If I had even just a 1/2 size more would have been comfortable for my figure. I got lot of compliments on the color and it was a flattering fit for my figure.

This was a nice fit and long enough for me with 3 inch heels and I'm almost 6' even. It was very flattering. The only con was the zipper is very difficult and got stuck easily so just be aware. I would definitely size up on this dress. I had my normal size zipped up but not with ease! 2 sizes up was too big for me.

This dress is beautiful in person, but the fit did not work for me. The cumberbun hit at my ribs instead of my waist. I am very short waisted, and this style usually works really well on me, but I think the waist may sit higher than other styles.

I got the dress and I was so excited to get it but it was too small. And when I was ordering, no back up size available. So that was it:( had to send back. Definitely go up a size!
