The fit was very flattering and I felt comfortable in it all night. It was the perfect dress for the occasion, very classy.

I love this dress and wish I owned it. The material was thin enough to keep me comfortable at a courtyard wedding in 100% humidity. We even second lined around the block and I didn't break a sweat. The design of the dress was perfect for my curves. It was a little loose in the bust area but I wore a nicely padded bra to remedy the problem. The material is great at hugging curves and hiding any imperfections, but not so tight that the dress rides up. I didn't bother trying the 10 on because the 8 fit so well. Condition of the dress was great!

I really enjoyed the fit I am typically a size two and this fit really well without being too tight or loose. It flattered my figure. I typically wear dresses that fall on or around my knee. If you are looking for a shorter dress this may be a bit long. I wore this to an intimate wedding and it was a good choice since it wasn't too fancy or not fancy enough. Great choice.

I wore this dress to a baby shower and could not have been happier! I usually wear a 12 and ordered the 10 and 12. I probably could have worn an 8 because it was a little big, especially in the shoulders, but the 10 worked just fine. The fabric is great for winter/fall because its a little thicker. The dress was delivered without any damage and was very good quality. It had a lot of stretch which is good if your in between sizes. I would defiantly recommend to rent!

Fits true to size, but the fabric is very forgiving. I'm usually a 4 or 6, and I got this in a 6 since I wanted a more comfortable fit. It fit perfectly. I could've probably gone with a 4 if I wanted it tighter, but the 6's cut was classy and still sexy without being painted on. I also thought the fabric was super comfortable - not itchy or irritating, and plenty of stretch to get your dance on. :)

I rented this for Christmas Day with the family, and it was perfect. The material has some give and either the 6 or 8 would have worked, I went with the 8 so I would be more comfortable (the slight stretch was excellent for the eating and drinking that took place during the day.) The pattern was really unique. It's hard to tell in the picture but the black swirls on the purple panels have a slight sparkle to them. I dressed down a bit with flat boots and black tights. Silver jewelery worked great. Would like to own this dress.

Really flattering fit and very comfortable - there is a lot of stretch since the black panels are a heavy jersey material, I probably should have worn the 10 but was feeling a little lazy and sized up. I wore with tights, so other renter's complaints about the purple fabric being itchy wasn't an issue for me. I wouldn't spend almost $400 to buy this dress (it's not lined) but for a rental, it's a steal. I imagine it looks great on all body types - a really safe bet (and not too short for us in our mid/late 30s.)

I've gained some weight over the Holiday Season and needed a dress for a Holiday Card Photoshoot and company party so I decided to rent this dress. It did not disappoint! It fit well, and the paneling gave a slimming illusion! Would highly recommend this dress!

What a great dress! I'm currently between a 10 and 12 dress size. This dress was actually my back up, but I loved it so much that I decided to wear it! The dress is fitted and it was very comfortable. It is not lined but I wore shape wear underneath. The design is very flattering the way the paneling of the purple meets the black. I would rent this dress again. Great first experience with Rent the Runway!

I'm usually an 8 but rented a 10 bc I had another dress from this designer run small. This was much more true to size and an 8 would have for perfectly. So comfortable and easy to move in. I had so many compliments!

I wore this dress for a military graduation. It fit me and the event perfectly. The fabric is a good quality and it is well tailored. If you are looking for a reliable dress this one will work!

I wore this dress to a brunch for my Mardi Gras Krewe. I chose it because it was purple, and it looked daytime without being work-y or church-y, and it was dressy without being fancy. It was perfect for the occasion, and I got a lot of compliments. It was much more flattering than I expected it to be. The photo makes it look a-line and fairly loose, but it was close-fitting and really accentuated my waist and showed off my curves. My only complaint is that the brocade fabric panel feels a little more cheap than it looks. The fabric overall was not what I was expecting. It was definitely thinner and stretchier, which wasn't a bad thing...just something to be aware of.

Fit was perfect. True to size, hits right above the knee. I wore this to a school event so I wanted something conservative and this hit the mark. Plus the stretch and panels kept it sexy. Only drawback is it doesn't have a lining.

I had issues with the other dresses I had rented, one was a bit too snug (and I only received one size for some reason) and the other had an extremely sticky side zipper making it super hard to zip up at the waist and I was quite nervous it could break while trying to zip it before the wedding. I was in a bit of a panic but RTR offered me another dress and shipped it overnight to the hotel where we were staying for the wedding. It was there when we checked in and happy to say, the 10 fit me perfect, maybe could have gotten in the 8 since the black fabric stretches but overall, the 10 was very comfortable and easy to wear. I also loved the bit of a sleeve on a January evening in the NE. The jewelry I rented looked great, I didn't wear all the bangles because they were pretty noisy but the three I did wear was plenty. I added my own sheer black scarf and let it flow down the back of the dress for an extra bit of flair. RTR was super easy to deal with!

I cannot even begin to tell you how much I LOVE this dress! It was so flattering--especially for this 43 year old mom and the colors were so intense and rich....much more so than appeared online. I wore this for a political event at the Four Seasons...a dinner for the Speaker of the House. It was important to look classy and elegant and this dress allowed exactly that. I'm 5 '8 and feared this dress would be too short but it was perfect. I live in New England and this event was in December...so I wore SPANX tights to keep worm and keep everything where it needed to be! : ) This dress was ideal and I can't wait to rent again!

flattering cut and looked great on. Not too tight or too short; subtlety sexy. It works great for something a little more professional or a party where you don't want to be too flashy.

I adored this dress and would buy it if I could afford it. The photos don't do it enough justice, the purple brocade is very rich and slightly metallic which offers a little sparkle and makes it appropriate for parties. However, the cut is fairly conservative so I didn't feel inappropriate at a corporate holiday party. Both the 6 and the 4 fit well, the dress has enough stretch that it's comfortable. I chose the 4 because it hugged my curves a little better and the length was a touch shorter. As you can see from my photos the length is longer on my petite frame but I think that added to the vintage feel of the dress. My daughter who is taller and a 34DD chest wore the size 6 the next night and it looked amazing on her so it works for larger chested girls as well. I paired it with a retro looking bootie and left jewelry to a minimum as the dress stands well on it's own. I received a lot of compliments. Don't hesitateto rent this stunner.

I wore this dress for my family's Thanksgiving dinner in order to achieve a balance of dressy and casual. It was perfect! I am basically a size 5, and always order a size 4 & 6 from RTR. The dress in my photo is the size 4, so I would say this style runs somewhere between true-to-size and a little big. Also note that I am 6'0" and 100% of that height is from my legs, so this was short on me, but would typically probably be just above the knee/to the knee on someone who is more proprotionate. Overall, it was a high quality item! I didn't realize the paisley purple design had a bit of shimmer to it until I saw it in person, and that added a perfect, extra touch of elegance. I highly recommend this dress & designer!

Rented this for a back up and did not end up wearing it…sadly. It is very pretty, super comfortable, and incredibly flattering. There is a bit of metallic in the design which makes it more interesting. The fabric has give. Very well made.

Great dress! Very comfortable and fit perfectly. The zipper did stick a wee bit so I had to get help from my husband. When it arrived the black detail had a shiny look to it. Unexpected but looked great.

I rented both the 6 and the 8 for this past Thanksgiving. Both fit, but I have wider hips and long legs, so I went with the 8 for the length! It was the perfect dress for my conservative Aunt and Uncle's country club! I got tons of compliments on it and wish I could keep it! The purple is a little itchy, but you get used to it, or forget about it. I was worried about the sleeve hitting at an awkward length, but they were great! I only gave it 4 stars because it was a little itchy.

I'm a size 10 and this size 10 fit me perfectly. I needed something rather conservative to wear to a very nice dinner and then a small NYE party with friends afterward, and this was conservative. Was nice to have a touch of color and not just black but this look is pretty ho-hum. Looked great with black tights and black heels.

The fabric on this dress is dense so it masks imperfections nicely and helps suck it all in; it was a flattering cut for my curvy figure with emphasis on creating a waistline. The pattern is funky yet the cut is sophisticated; this is a great option for someone looking for a unique dress that will make an understated statement. Due to the density of the fabric I do not recommend this dress for hot weather or intense dancing as it doesn't breathe and gets very warm!

Very comfortable and hugged in the right places. Easy to dance in! The 10 was a bit big in the back, but not so much that the fit was compromised. The length and the sleeves were fine. I loved wearing it!

This dress for like a glove and have that old time pin up feel. The only thing I would complain about it the hem on the bottom of the dress was falling which was kind of a pain. Other then that, it fit the affair well.

The dress is the perfect mix of comfortable and classy. The fabric is of high quality and looks pitch perfect--even better than the pictures. Because it is so stretchy, make your alternate size one down from what you normally wear. It actually stretches out relatively fast and lost its shape a little bit at the bottom hem (but wasn't noticeable from other people's vantage point, just from above). This is a little more conservative and although it has a little sheen, it's not the most daring piece. Nice for business events or for the more body con dresser.

I received so many compliments on the dress. It was so comfortable to wear all night. I was really worried that I was going to need a size 4 since I didn't really know my new size since having a baby but the 2 fit perfect. I might have even been able to pull off a size 0 but the 2 fit great. The only con was the hem was already coming apart when it arrived. It was held in a few spots and I thought it would make it through the night but as soon as I got out of the car one stitch popped and a small section of hem came undone. Would have bugged me but the section that popped was the black part so I just took one bobby pin out of my hair and slid it over the loose hem. Worked like a charm. I would defiantly rent this dress again.

I wore this dress to an industry (professional) holiday party. I'm on the board and wanted to look professional, yet style stylish (and hot!). This dress was perfect - it's a conservative cut, but the black blocking creates curves and the dress is fitted, which makes it a little sexier. It's stretchy so it's very comfortable too. Got lots of compliments.

The dress looked good but not great. The stomach fit large while the dress was tight around the legs.

I ordered this to wear to a Gala I was co-managing, so I did a good deal of running around in it. It's really a lovely dress, and the pattern/lines on the front really accentuates all the right curves. I received compliments and some of the pictures look really nice. What puzzled me was that I didn't feel so great in the dress. The fabric was a little itchy, and it didn't feel like it was fitted in the exact right places for me (i.e. there was some extra fabric in the midsection that bunched up when I had the chance to sit down). That said, it still did the job well and for the price I needed: it kept me looking professional and vibrant for a lovely evening!

It was a great dress though I wish I would have ordered the size 4 instead of the size 0 for comparison's sake. The size 2 fit well everywhere but the shoulders - it was pretty tight. The biggest problem was the zipper. It was almost impossible to get up or down by yourself. I had to enlist a friend to zip it up and a neighbor to pull it down! So make sure someone else is home! I liked this dress but I've LOVED others more.
