Dress was perfect for a black tie wedding I attended. My only complaint would be the long option didn't quite reach the floor while wearing my 3.5 inch heels. Dress stays completely closed while standing but it opens up at the slit while sitting. The slit also opens up quite a bit when walking so keep your strides small! Material was thick enough to go completely braless and not worry about giving a free show. I'm typically a 2 but the 0 fit perfectly. The 2 hung more than hugged in all the right places.

The size 2R was my first choice with a 4R as my backup. The 2R fit perfectly aside from the length. But I knew that would be the case, so I had a pair of 5" heels on hand. The dress was beautiful, sleek, made me look taller than I am with the higher waistline and clean skirt. I didn't want to send it back!

This is such a glam dress -- picture really doesn't do it justice. It's incredibly flattering and elegant and the open back and slit add just the right about of sexiness. I didn't have major problems with the slit. It is high as the other reviews note, but manageable. I absolutely loved every second of wearing this dress and would rent again in a heartbeat. Definitely can do one size down although my true size wasn't too big to wear.

I wore this for a black tie NYE gala. If RTR ever included this gown in a clearance sale, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. The open back is stunning (sorry, I forgot to snap a photo of that part) and the leg slit is just the right side of scandalous. The slit is in the center of the dress, so it requires a little extra effort to keep things covered when sitting and walking down stairs. I went braless because of the back, but the front is blousey enough to make it comfortable to do so. Because of my height, I wore 5 and 3/4in heels to make the length work. It was still ever so slightly long, but thanks to the slit the gown flowed beautifully and I didn't have any difficulty walking. The hook an eye closure at the top of the zipper fell low/mid back and dug in to my skin when I leaned back a bit, but I think a previous wearer may have bent it out of shape. With a little help bending it back, it was fine.

This dress is the perfect amount of sophistication but yet still very young and fun for the 239th Marine Corps Birthday Ball in Miami, FL. The dress is very comfortable and I thought it fit well. The slit goes all the way to the hemline so the dress posed some problems when sitting. I was able to wear a slip under the dress which helped with most issues. The dress fabric (silk) does wrinkle very easily when traveling so it took awhile to steam out all of the wrinkles before wearing it. I would definitely rent this dress again and would love to own it!

Beautiful dress that manages to be sexy in a very grown-up and classy way and is comfortable on. I wore this to the opening night of the Metropolitan Opera and felt great amid a sea of gorgeously dressed women. The slit is extremely high but only opens up when you walk against the wind or -- this required some tugging and holding -- sit down. Only design flaw is that the little hook and zipper at the bottom of the back presses into you; it may be an idea to cover that with a little bit of fashion tape.

Great dress, loved it and I should have ask for a size 2 instead of a 4.

Wore this to my graduation ceremony. I normally wear a size 10, but read the reviews, and got an 8L, and it fit PERFECTLY. I'm 5'11", and wore flats bc the dress wasn't quite long enough for heels. Otherwise, I loved it. there was no fidgeting or pulling up straps or sucking in...I just felt great in this dress, wish I had gotten a better picture of it. I have hips, but this dress just flowed great. can't say enough good things.

I'm usually a six, but I wore the 4 and had some room to move. It's very comfortable, but the slit is very high which may prove difficult if it's windy at your event. I love this dress so much, I got so sad when I had to send it back!

I was in between the 8 and 10 but the 10 gave JUST enough wiggle room to make sure I felt super comfy and had an extra low back to dance the night way. Made me feel elegant and was even a little slimming!

Very comfortable. The slit if so sexy and so elegant when you walk. However, if in windy conditions, pick your prettiest lingerie. Excellent for athletic builds. No bra necessary. The length was perfect with 3" heels.

Absolutely loved this dress! I felt totally comfortable but sexy (not too tight, but form fitting in all of the right places) all night and received a ton of compliments. I was worried about the length, but I'm 5'9" and wore a 3-4" heel and the dress hit the floor perfectly. One warning, the slit goes HIGH, which I loved, but if you are going to be very active at your event you may want to reconsider (lots of potential to accidentally show your goods) and if you don't like your legs they won't be hidden. Definitely not a vulgar/inappropriate slit when walking/dancing/etc., but when I was finishing up getting ready with it on, my friends got a little extra show before we left for the wedding--was lucky to figure that out before we got there :)

This dress was not my first choice. My original dress became unavailable 2 days before the Black Tie wedding I was supposed to attend. I am SO happy I chose this dress as my backup. This dress is extremely elegant, chic, and edgy - with a dash of sex appeal. Not AT ALL what I expected. The 2R fit me perfect. Wearing 3 inch platform heels the dress still needed to be hemmed up about 1 inch. The back of dress is beautiful! I was receiving compliments all night on how the dress is gorgeous and questions asking who the designer was. Because of the open back I went bra-less, but I am small chested so it wasn't noticeable. One tip: Going from car to church and church to reception hall, I noticed it was a very windy day. The slit in the front is SO SEXY when you are walking and dancing, but beware. With heavy winds it will fly open and show off your lady parts. So in that regard, I recommend not wearing this dress in windy weather... or just plan on being very brave (and make sure to wear nice undies).

I wore this dress for a close friends black tie wedding. The dress was stunning and super comfortable -- easy to dance in, but incredibly elegant. The fit was true to size and I wore the regular length with 3 inch heels (I'm 5'6") and the fit was close to perfect.

Wore this dress for a friends wedding. It was a replacement dress. I simply loved it was very foley, and classy. A bit long since I'm only 5'3" and big on the top but not noticeable to others. Received many compliments they the nite and even on my Facebook. Thank you rent the runway!

Needed full three inch heels for length.

The description says it is okay for 5'2"+ but I am 5'2" and it was still way too long on me. I am usually a 2 but wore the 0 in this one. I wore 4-5" heels and it still dragged the floor a bit. We were at an outdoor black tie wedding and it was a bit annoying to have to carry my dress in my hand any time I walked somewhere. The top is fun and different, but it does blouse out a bit. Also, the other reviewers are right about the bottom - you need to watch it if it is windy or make sure to wear a black slip underneath. The slit goes right up to nearly your waist. The material is stretchy so you will not have to worry about eating a lot in this one.

It hid my tummy flaws and was very slimming. I didn't wear a bra due to cut out back but no problem.

LOVED this dress! I went back and forth between the regular length and the long, but I was so glad I went with the long. It is super flattering, and fun with the slit and the open back. The slit does tend to come open when you sit down, but as long as your legs are crossed, you should be fine!

This dress was amazing!! I am a solid size 8 but I read the reviews saying it runs large and so I got a size 6 and prayed they were right. The dress fit PERFECTLY!!! It hides the mid section, has an optional large slot up the front (you just move over the side if you want to show it off). I felt like a million bucks! Love the dress!

This was an alternate dress after the one I ordered wasn't available. I can't say enough about it. The top was loose fitting but with both shoulder straps it fit properly. The fitted waist really accentuated my shape in a positive way while still giving me breathing (or eating) room. The length was perfect with my 5'4" height plus 4" heels- never worried about tripping or walking on it. The slit was subtle, only really noticeable when purposefully poking my leg through (for photos) or walking. The dress was not as formal looking as the other dress I was considering, but it was such a comfortable and flattering fit (boosting my confidence) so it ended up as the hands down winner. Absolutely perfect for the occasion.

The dress runs big. I usually wear a 4/6 (but always have to have it tailored unless it's stretchy) because I have broad shoulders and a large bust, but am athletic and have a small waist. I'm 5'9" with a very long waist. The dress fit beautifully, and the long was the right length with a high heel (4"). There is plenty of room in the bust, but the waist is fitted. The hips are not tight and the dress drapes in a very flattering way. The picture makes the slit look like it is very open, but it is not. It is just the right amount of skin showing. The neckline is really beautiful on, and the back is very dramatic. Fabulous dress overall!!

I would have never selected this dress but the stylist in the showroom recommended it. The fit was great. I had ordered a 8 and a 10 but ended up going with the 8 (I had tried the 6 in the showroom and it was just too small). The 8 fit perfectly (and I've been wearing a 10 in everything else these days) so I'd say order down a size. Low and exposed back, so I didn't end up wearing a bra. Overall great fit and very flattering dress (especially postpartum).

Really, you can wear this dress just about anywhere. It have the perfect amount of class and edge. It did however run a bit long on my 5'5" frame, but it's nothing a pair of sky high heels can't fix. I would have gotten the 2R if it had been available.

extra material in the bust area. Great open back- cannot wear with a bra. You cannot see any leg like in the photo unless you are seriously trying . Very classy, if you're looking for sexy not the dress for you.

Gorgeous. absolutely gorgeous! It fit perfectly in the waist for me as I am usually a size zero..... but it felt like the top was draped a little too large for a size 0 . It was still stunning..... but i ended up wearing my backup dress because i felt like this was too safe and boring, The picture makes it look like it has a pronounced slit. but she's walking and they pinned it back because in reality the fabric just hangs and you lose the effect. so while this dress is absolutely gorgeous and I would rent it again for a wedding or something. its just not the show stopper I imagined in the photo. As I said, LOVED it but just wanted to point out what I like to get from these reviews which are the "down sides" to a great looking dress.

The back is stunning..simply beautiful and elegant. This was my first RTR and I had an amazing experience. The customer service is through the roof.

My first dress was delayed and did not make it in time, so they had to overnight this dress. Although it could never match up to my other dress it still worked. The back was beautiful! I wasn't the biggest fan of the wider sleeve on one side, but that is just a preference thing. The length was perfect. I am so glad I didn't go with the long size. I wore high heels and it was the exact right length. Shorter girls will have to pin or tape it up probably. I wore a backless bra form Victoria's Secret and had no problem and felt really comfortable.

This dress is very plain on maybe if the size fit it would of looked better but to me it did not have wow factor
