The original size I wanted to order was a 0L, but I procrastinated and that size was unavailable. I was worried about the fit of the larger size, but it worked extremely well! The dress was very comfortable and stretchy, I felt like I could take normal steps. I was worried that with the low back my underwear would show, but it actually was not a problem at all- even with the little bit of gapping in the back. The lining of the dress does run a little below the lace on the 2L, and you can see it if you look closely at my picture. However, this did not effect the overall look of this dress. I received compliments all night! It is a little bit of a more purple color than it appears, but once again it was still gorgeous! If you're worried about matching colors: my date wore a black tux with a white vest and bow tie. All of my accessories were gold and my shoes were black and they matched wonderfully. I didn't want to return this dress! Also, shout out to RTR: included with my dress was a garment bag I got to keep, some fashion tape, and a complementary lotion. I will rent again!!

Wore this dress for a black tie optional wedding, and it made me feel so glamorous. It was sexy and comfortable. The color was rich and gorgeous, and the material was not at all heavy. As other reviewers have noted, the lining does stick out from the bottom. So I rented a long, despite my small stature, so I could pin up the lining, wear with heels and the lace to graze the floor. I did note that the 2L did not have the issue with the lining. I opted to go braless, but would have would felt more comfortable with some type of support (those dresses with the built in bras are great!)

The dress fit perfectly length wise. The only problem I had was that I'm a bit small up top and it was a little loose fitting but no one noticed but me. This dress is perfect for a tall, thin woman. I have curves and although it fit nice my curves weren't flaunted enough. The back is very sexy and the lace and long sleeves were perfect for this winter event.

The dress fit perfectly all over. Not too tight and very comfortable to move and dance around in. The color is a little more purple than expected, but that made it even more lovely! The length was perfect with 3 inch heels and everyone loved the look. My favorite part is definitely the open back.

It was basically a perfect fit, going in I had no idea what my dress size really was but it ended up being the perfect size , I wanted a long fit so that it wouldn't show my ankles and that's why I went with the 6L and not the 6R but it did run a little too long as I had to hold the dress up while on the dance floor to prevent stepping on it, overall a beautiful dress and got lots of complements from the other ladies.

I wore this to a black tie optional wedding in October. The dress fits a bit large, however I am 5'5 and the long was necessary. I have a larger chest but was able to get away without any type of bra/tape etc. The dress was very comfortable and I received tons of compliments.

I am usually a size 4 and this dress fit like a glove! The fit is very true to size and the fabric has some give so it will stretch and move with you. I knew the dress was gorgeous but it wasn't until I walked through the hotel lobby and conversations stopped as I went by that it really sunk in how amazing this dress really is! I received compliments all night long and I felt like a supermodel. I love the RTR experience and look forward to using it again for upcoming events!

It was a little big, because I usually wear a 2 and there weren't any 2's available to rent during the date of my party. I love the back of this dress, and I got tons of compliments! I felt so elegant and classy, and I would totally recommend it to everyone.

I ordered a size 0R and 2R. I was notified a few days before the prom that the size 2R came back damaged, and so they let me pick another style dress in a 2R. I was extremely nervous that I wouldn't fit into this one, because I've had my heart set on it for months. But once I put the 0R on, it fit perfectly! I decided to wear flat sandals instead of heels because the dress wasn't as long as I anticipated, but it worked for me. I received so many compliments and felt beautiful the whole night. The dress was super comfortable, as well. I'm about 5'4" and if I would've gone with a long, I probably could've worn heels and it might've looked better at my feet. Other than that, I can't think of anything I didn't like about it! It might be better to order a size down, because it seems that it runs just a little bit larger. I didn't expect to fit into the 0, but I'm glad I did!

I am usually between a size 6 and 8, but all they had was the 6, so I took the risk and just got the one size and it fit perfectly! I didn't have to worry about wearing spanx or anything because it was so flattering as it was. The only accessory I had was a corsage and I think it was perfect that way... The dress speaks for itself! I'm so glad I used Rent the Runway and will absolutely use it again!

I wore this dress to my senior prom and it was just perfect. I was anxious and nervous considering that I was to get it the night before prom but it all worked out. Everywhere I went people stared and I got stopped by strangers asking where I had gotten if from and saying I looked so elegant. The only cons I can say is that the layer underneath the lace would stick out at the bottom a few times and even though I'm a 4 and I wore a 2L it was still a little bit big in certain areas especially around my back and waist. But other than that it was great. The length was also perfect I am 5'3" and wore 3 in heels so I emailed RTR a week before getting the dress and they were able to get me the 2L instead of a 2R. Customer service is amazing. Truly an unforgettable dress.

It was a little big in the back but the fit was otherwise perfect. I'm 5'2 and it was short with 5' heels so I'd suggest a long for taller ladies. RTR's service was amazing. The dress was perfect, so unique, and the back is so stunning. I wore it to prom and got so many compliments, a few told me it was the most unique dress of the bunch :) It showed my curves and had a good shape, and it was really comfortable even with the lace.

I wore this dress to prom. I loved the color for it was purple too with burgundy. The open back was low and an eye grabber, loved it! I received a ton of compliments. It was a perfect length even wearing 6 in heels. Okay the only concerns I did have was the second layer of fabric under the lace because it was too long compared to the lace layer. It wasn't super noticeable when I moved though (you can see in second pic). Also it was loose in the waist. I would suggest a size lower if you want a snug fit. Dress wasn't ridiculously large though. I would recommend this dress, and using RTR! I'll be ordering again.

This material is super stretchy which makes it amazingly comfortable. This is awesome if you have bigger hips and a small waist like me. I could have even worn a 2, as it was a little loose around my waist, but overall the fit was comfortable and flattering.

This dress was simply amazing. I wore this to my spring formal for my sorority. I got compliments on it allll night! I'm only 5'2 so the long length was perfect with my heels. The only thing I can say is that the dress runs a little big. I normally wear a 12 in dresses but I could've gotten an 8 in this one so I would take advantage of the free second size option. But in conclusion I loved this dress and recommend it for anyone trying to steal the spotlight!

The dress was a little large in some areas, but it fit me pretty well overall. My only complaint that i found that it rode up frequently so i had to pull it down often.

Loved the dress so much. It's very elegant but with a fun back as well. The fabric is stretchy, comfortable, and flattering. The dress runs a little big and there were a couple baggy spots around the waist/hips but a little fashion tape fixed that easily. The color is much more purple than it looks on the model but is just as pretty. I got lots of complements and would highly recommend this dress!

I needed a in-between season outfit for a black tie event at a five star resort. This lace purple number was perfect. I paired it with satin nude wedges and antiqued gold jewelry. I also had a purple/lavender sequin clutch. The back is to die for (but I was traveling alone and couldn't get a picture of it) and adds just the right amount of sexy without being risky. I didn't wear any special undergarments and it laid perfectly. I hope I have the opportunity to wear this one again! (Worn in March)

The fit of this dress was perfect, if anything it was just a stretchy fabric so it hugged curves/made it seem like you had curves! I have wider hips and a very small waist so it was quite flattering. I wore chicken cutlets with this dress which worked perfectly, but you probably don't have to wear a bra if you prefer. The sleeves were a little short, and I was surprised that the dress was a long because it was even a little short for me. I wore gold earrings and didn't wear a necklace which worked well. Very elegant dress and I got so many compliments. I was only a volunteer at this event but everyone thought I was a model! Great dress, I wish I could keep it.

I wore this dress to a formal holiday party with over one-thousand attendees. Friends and strangers alike approached me to with how absolutely special this gown is. Everyone I met said how beautiful it is, and then were floored when seeing the back. I felt amazing in this dress and hard a difficult time parting with it the next morning! Overall the fit runs large. I am 5'8", about 115 lbs, and usually wear a 0 or 2. This dress was just a tad too big for me even in the 0L, but no one could notice. I wore black T-strap heels and the bottom of the dress grazed the floor perfectly. I highly recommend this dress (and remember to take photos of how gorgeous you look and feel!). My partner's coworkers were still talking about my look the next day.

This dress runs large. I am usually a 4-6 and the 2R fit (and could have been a little more form fitting). Definitely order your size and a size down. It photographs well and I got a ton of compliments! It looks great on a curvy/athletic shape.

I am 5'6 and at first thought the Regular Length would be the best. I ended up ordering the Long and wore it with 3 inch heels and it was the perfect length.

First of all, lemme just give a shout out to the RTR costumer service. What an AMAZING group of people. Unfortunately, my original back up dress was returned from its pervious rental too damaged to send out to me, so they were quick to notify me and give me suggestions for another dress. I ended up choosing this dress to wear (it had been my first choice all along) and I am SO glad I did! It is absolutely GORGEOUS. It's a very romantic style, but the back makes it a statement dress. No one else had a dress like mine at the Marine Corps Ball. I ordered a 4R, but it was a little short for me, as well as not as tight fitting as I had wanted, so I called RTR right away and they sent me an overnight alternate backup size, 2L which was PERFECT. I wore about a 3 inch heel and the bottom merely grazed the floor. The open back is so sexy and shows off your back muscles, as well as hugging you rear end in all the right ways. I have a soft spot for lace, so this dress was all I could have asked for. The color is slightly more purple than the picture shows, but it is even more beautiful in person!

This dress was one of the most comfortable and flattering dresses I have ever worn. It hugged my body in all the right places! Loved it so much. The customer service was also amazing as I had originally ordered an 8 and 10. I called right away when I realized they were going to be too big and customer service overnighted me a 6L. Love RENT THE RUNWAY! You all are amazing. I always suggest you to anyone who asks for suggestions in places to get formal dresses.

First time using RenttheRunway and impressed! Overall the fit was fabulous, though I was disappointed that the lace did not extend to the floor, and the lining peeked out about 3 inches (you can see the dark lining), I am not sure if the long size would have fixed the problem either. On the other hand, this dress is COMFORTABLE, CLASSY yet SEXY with the open back. I wore this for a red carpet, black tie fundraising event and it was perfect for the night.

I would not typically wear a dress like this due to the lack of support, but I was able to buy a backless stick-on bra which was the only way I was able to wear this dress. You could just barely see the sides of the sticky part as they wrapped around, but everyone else said they couldn't see it at all. This dress would be perfect for someone that feels comfortable going braless. The color is very pretty and the fabric is very stretchy and you can move well in it. I had no problem dancing all night with everything staying in place. It was a tad short and the under layer of lining definitely hangs below the outside layer. I went with the 4R as 4L wasn't available and the 6L was definitely too big. Overall a really striking and unusual dress, I got lots of compliments and felt great wearing it!

This dress is amazing. I wish I could have gotten the 2L because it was a little short and came to my ankles almost. A little worn at the bottom too but nothing a little tape couldn't fix. I believe the slip was too long and needed to be folded. It also wasn't as fitted as I would have liked it to be. Other than that this dress made me a show stopper at prom and a jaw dropper when people saw the back. Sexy but classy.

I almost returned this RTR dress for merchandise credit because the lining of the dress was showing a good four inches longer than the lace fabric. BUT I'm so glad I didn't! I wore it for a low-lit, sit-down wedding at a an old historic building in Downtown LA and felt stunning the entire evening. I received compliments all night long, even though I had to hold up the dress in one hand any time I did any walking or dancing. And there was a ton of dancing! Since the lining was hanging out the dress was a bit long with 4 inch heels at 5'2", but I intentionally ordered the 2L because I didn't want the dress to stop at my ankles and show my feet. I probably could have worn the 2R. However, I think holding up a longer dress with extra long lining was less awkward than a shorter dress with visible lining. Overall, it was very comfortable and fit well, and I could move freely in it, even with the open back. I would recommend this dress for really special occasions. Also, the low lighting helped make the dress because it is beginning to look worn in some parts of the lace. The color is also more purple than the model's picture, but I still enjoyed the color even though I would have liked the maroon color a bit more.

As other reviewers have said, it runs slightly large but it's not overwhelming. The dress is more purple than the stock picture shows and the 2L has a small hole in the upper back region, but it isn't too noticeable since the dress has that look to it already. The dress had quite a few snags that I had to cut off, but I guess it comes with the territory of a used dress that is shipped all over. Since I'm short the 2L was still too long with 4" heels but I made it work. This was my first time using RTR and it was an 'ok' experience overall.

This is a great dress that I wore to a black tie wedding. I got TONS of compliments on it. I read the previous reviews which stated that the dress runs large, which I found to be true. I am 5"6 and normally wear a size 2 in dresses, and was planning on wearing 31/2 - 4" heels. I ordered the 0L & 2L, and wore the 0 - the 2 would have been baggy. Also, if you plan on wearing high heels, I definitely suggest ordering the long - with my 4" heels, the dress barely skimmed the floor. Overall though, great dress - the back is incredible!
