I shared the day with my sister, she came with me to shop for my daughter's wedding :)
The VIP session was terrific. Organized by size made it much faster for me to zip thru the available gowns - I found my selection within minutes! I was the first one in the dressing room and out the door with my purchase in 45 minutes.

I shared this day with my sister and BFF
Shopped until we dropped. So many things to chose from. My sister's daughter was getting married so she needed dresses for the rehearsal dinner, the welcome dinner for out of towners and the brunch the morning after. She got dresses for all in one sweep. Will be back next year!

Lots to chose from!
Crowded, line for dressing room was very long, but with patience and perseverance found a great dress for a fraction of the price.

Super exciting! i bought 3 bags of great RTR samples! I was there all day trying on clothes!
I had just joined rent the runway when the annual sample sale was take place & I was invited! I have lived in NYC for a number of years and I have only been to a few sample sales, nothing this big! It was super exciting and I stayed trying on clothes all day, and bought many! And even moreso, i got to know many of the brands and the fits for my future rentals : ) YAY! It was a great splurge & I got some great bargains too!

So helpful on getting into the event early & getting the first dresses.
Always a great sample sale. Many dresses do have rips, stains, or broken zippers, so you do have to be careful when purchasing.

The sample sale was a little crazy, but I managed to walk away with two dresses.
Almost all the dresses had some snag or problem with it, so you just have to be patient and go through the racks.

This sample sale was AMAZING! So worth the crowd!
Pros: Great designer pieces on SUPER sale (I bought a leather jacket that was supposed to be 600 for $70!) Cons: Longs lines, staff of the pop up wasn't super friendly (not affiliated with RTR, though), only had 15 min in dressing room and you were in with about 10 other women. Best to go to these things in leggings and a tank top so you can throw things over your clothes.

Great prices for decent couture
I've been to this event twice so far. Both times I racked up! It's nice to be able to purchase items that are typically not affordable for the average person. You have to be SUPER careful at these sales and check for broken zippers, stains, snags, etc that are beyond repair. You can only take 10 items into the communal dressing room (no exceptions), so it's best to either bring a friend who can hold your other items, or stop shopping when you reach 10 items. They will not hold any items for you that are above the 10-item limit. Speaking of the dressing room, it's a madhouse! Just be prepared for this and wear clothes that are easy to remove. The VIP sale typically starts at 9, but do not expect to show up at 8:55 and have a good spot in line. Women started showing up at 8. I showed up at 8:30 and was 20th or so in line. Even though you won't benefit from the deep discounts that are presented on the final day, it's worthwhile to go the first day to purchase items that you feel will not be there on the last day (leather jackets, nice bags, etc). Leave the items that are a dime a dozen for the last day where you can expect 50% or more discounts. Happy shopping!
