Stand Out Color and High Fashion Style
This was a back up to my back up after an alternate size became unavailable. It was great to be able to upgrade as a result. The service on the phone with the stylist who worked with me while we both looked at pics on our computers was terrific. Once I had it on and styled I felt absolutely great in this dress. However, getting it on, at least at first, was definitely a team effort. A friend had to help me figure out the internal zipper to the bust lining. Great choice for a black tie work event where I was speaking on stage and having my photo taken. Definitely stood out in a crowded ballroom! I absolutely needed spanx and a push-up strapless bra to feel right in this--and also wore a strapless full body undergarment over all that to smooth it out. The belt is a great touch--makes the waist look smaller in contrast with the yellow. And somehow this yellow works with black--do not worry about looking like a bee!

I was a red carpet, A-list movie star. Period.
I went RTR because I a) didn't have time to shop, and b) wanted to wear something dramatic and different to a charity gala. I fell in love with the dress, but wasn't sure of the color with my fair skin and strawberry blonde hair. I'm a pretty steady 6 (5'9", 139lbs), so at RTR help's recommendation, I ordered the 42 and 44L. The 42 was perfect. The 44, while ok in the body, was way too big on the shoulder, and the draping fell. Somehow, though the 44 belt was on the 42 hanger, so I tried it first. There was no way I would have fit the 42 belt, as the 44 was snug. I went braless (there's a lined shelf bra, but if you're more than a B cup, go with a strapless bra), and wore the Commando thong. I didn't wear Spanx, but I could see them helping. I'm hooked on RTR because of this dress/experience. I got all sorts of compliments (except from my 3yo son, who liked the other dress better. My 6yo daughter loved it.) from everyone from my husband to strangers. They liked the color, the cut, and I got "You look like a glamorous 20s movie star," "There's no way you have 2 kids," and an actual former European model loved the dress and me in it (yup, coincidentally seated next to her). I went for a modern vintage look with my grandmother's ruched gloves and MIL's fur stole, but this is such a modern dress, you could rock it with uber-modern statement earrings or a massive cuff. If you're considering this, do it. You won't regret it.

Everyone LOVED this dress! Stunning, comfortable and a real show stopper!
Fit true to size (I'm 5'8" and a regular was too short.) I am small chested and the built in bra held the dress up. I didnt wear the belt, it actually made me look thicker in the stomach, so I skipped it. Very form fitting. YOU HAVE TO WEAR SPANKS! Panty lines are VERY apparent so I bought a pair. Also, take the dress to a dry cleaner first to eliminate any wrinkles and lines.

When asked best dressed for our grad formal...I truly felt like this dress did the trick. LOVED IT!
The size for me was a little tricky on this dress but wound up being fairly easy to manipulate once on. I am 5'11" and definately agree that if you are tall get a long, the regular that I ordered was just way too short. In terms of overall fit, I am a college athlete and felt I would not need any help getting into this dress but do think that spanks could probably be helpful. It was fairly fitted through the hips and so I wound up choosing the larger size I ordered which made it a little too big on top. However, it was easy to correct with the belt since that kind of helped cinch it up. I ultimately did decide to wear my own leather belt which I felt was a little more formal than the one they sent with the dress. Overall though I got a million and one compliments on this dress and loved every minute i spent in it...it was hard to send it back. I felt absolutely stunning in it and felt like I stood out beautifully in the color but with a truly classy flavor! LOVED IT...rent it you wont regret!

Comfortable and flattering all in one!
I absolutely loved this dress. It was so comfortable and felt It was flattering at the same time. I skipped the belt b/c I have very wide hips. That happens after having kids. The belt is spandex with a shiny patent closure so it really extenuates the waste making your hips look even wider. The belt would be perfect for someone who lacks curves. I did wear spanx but only b/c it made me feel more comfortable. Panty lines are very visible in this type of fabric so not sure you could get away w/o spanx or pantyhose. It runs long i think. I am close to 5'8 and they were out of the L so I ended up with the R and my heels were 4" long. It was a perfect length. Otherwise I would have been tripping or getting it caught in an elevator! I'm wondering if they store their dresses hanging b/c this fabric can stretch over time? Warning: this dress could easily take attention away from a bride. It such a great dress!!

Being at a wedding and feeling like I may have upstaged the bride (oops!)
I cannot even put into words how gorgeous and what a standout this dress is. The color is to die for - it is super glamourous but also unique with the shape. I felt like a supermodel in this dress. I chose not to wear the belt as I thought it brought too much attention to my mid section but the belt would look great on straight & narrows, hourglasses or pears. Also, thank god for Spanx

I loved this dress! Belt, not so much.
This dress fit great. I got the long which was well, long but i wore big comfy shoes and no one could see. I am busty and was able to wear my normal strapless with it. The belt was awful though! I am a size 6, and I think that belt must be a one-sizer because that elastic was actually painful and made me look like I was cut in half. LUCKILY, the other dress I rented came with a beautiful beaded belt that dressed it up completely different and fit perfectly.

Stunning!
This dress was a show-stopper, but required a lot of working out pre-show...

Chic and modern.
I'm not sure how to comment on fit... I tried on a 40R in the NYC showroom and it fit perfectly, but when the dress arrived at my apartment, it was snug--like probably a size smaller snug. That only happened a few days apart (and my slinky back up dress fit the same as in the showroom), so I know it wasn't weight gain. I couldn't find the size on the tag, so I don't know if they sent me a 38R by mistake, or if they actually gave me a 42R to try on in the showroom. Other than that, it is a beautiful gown and very modern. The color is a little more 'mustard' than I expected--I would have personally preferred a brighter yellow (like in the photo). Also, although the skirt portion not fitted, it is not lined and shows every little bump, so I probably would have worn Spanx for smoothing purposes.

Needed to order at least a size up.
I didn't end up wearing this dress because it was a huge struggle to get on. There is a I am usually always a 4 in dresses and I didn't receive a backup size so I had to wear an alternate dress. There is some kind of built in "bra" in side but its just a light mesh fabric with boning like a corset and you can see the boning through the top fabric in the chest area. For being a designer gown I was a little shocked at the thin fabric which is also unlined. I love the idea of the dress with the oversized bow, but it was complicated to get my arm through the shoulder draping. The dress I received was also ripped at the zipper so I'm assuming, the customer before me had the same problem. The belt is black patent leather and has a u-hook to close and looks good in the picture but isn't the best match in person. Overall, I was a little confused how such a seemingly simple dress turned out to be so ill- fitting. Maybe I needed a 6 or an 8??

Loved this dress in photos, but not so much in person
I could not wait to get this dress--it was fashion forward and would have been a standout piece for the blacktie event I was attending. However, upon reciept, neither my original size or the larger backup size fit. Both ran small in the chest. (I must mention that the bottom half was fine, and i have a 36" caboose!) The photo appears to have a bloussant fit up top, but this dress was tight and I'm only a 34A! It was difficult to get on and was a bit awkward and uncomfortable. In addition, perhaps due to the lighter color, the hemline looked worn and dirty. I was a bit disappointed that it didn't fit and returned it without wearing. Could be a gorgeous dress on the right frame. Its definately a statement piece.

a great color but very poor fit. basically, it's not designed for regular body types.
you have to be very tall and thin. otherwise, it's just a poor fit. i love the design and color but very disappointed with fit.
