It runs a bit large. I normally wear a size 2 but only size 4 was available. It worked, just a bit loose around the waist. I'm 5.6" and wore 3" heels and the length was perfect! The slit is elegantly veiled by a black sheer overlay. This dress definitely showcases your shoulders and neck...I wore my hair down but this would be fantastic with an up-do. So many compliments on this dress, felt like a princess!

Dress fit surprisingly well. I'm five foot one or two. Wore tall heels. Did long wavy hair pinned up to do old Hollywood glam w red lipstick. Did wear strapless bra. Have 34C. Dress fit well. Wore like a glove but was long. A must to know how to walk in heels and long gown up and down stairs too. First RTR wore to a wedding. I got So many compliments. Not just saying that either. Usually wear between 4- 6 dress pant.

I rented this dress to wear to an Oscar watching party in Vancouver. It fit very well. The dress does not really stretch, the fabric is very lightweight and soft, elegant. The seams are on the bias and very flattering. If you were feeling froggy you could wear this dress without a bra, I opted to wear a standard strapless. I had people coming up to me all night complimenting me on the dress, asking where I got it and was told by several I was the best dressed lady there. I even had a columnist take my photo and tell me I looked "fabulous;" rumor is I'll be featured in the paper later this week. I did not mind this part but just FYI - due to the slit once you are seated you end up showing quite a bit of leg. Like I said - I was fine with it, but be sure to practice sitting at home before going to your event so you know exactly what it's going to feel like, might be a surprise. In conclusion - It's gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous and I felt like a Princess wearing such a beautiful gown.

I rented a size 8 R, usually wear a size 6, but I'm busty. This dress fit my hourglass shape perfectly! I usually wear a size 6 and I sized up for this one. I wore silicone pasties, so didn't need to wear a bra. Super comfortable and so elegant. It was long so with 5 inch heels it was PERFECT! This was for our 25th anniversary company party and even the owner noticed and commented on how great it was! I'm renting again, best decision of the year! Thanks RTR!

Wore this to a black tie gala and got TONS of compliments. It fit perfectly and was perfectly comfortable the entire evening.

I rented this dress for my cousins wedding. It was simple, elegant, and comfortable. I danced a lot, and not only did it hold its shape and not wrinkle, but it also was comfortable enough to move well in. I was concerned about how the one shoulder design would look on my large chest (I have a DD cup) but it was a total non-issue. LOVED this dress. Would totally rent again :)

I felt amazing in this form flattering dress. My husband loved it and said I looked elegant. The only gripe I have is that I did wear the larger size I ordered because the smaller size looked as if it had seen one too many parties. The larger size was quite new and it was apparent in the way it looked. I am only 5'2 so the dress dragged a little even with 4 inch heels. I did not step on it at all due to the slit, and I loved the little train look in the back. I just made sure the dress did not touch the floor outside. I really LOVE this dress and would love to purchase it so I never had to give it back!! I would so wear this again.

I wore this to a reality tv show premier. I received so many compliments all night. It fit true to size and hid all my imperfections. I highly recommend this dress if you want to feel like a true princess!

I wore this dress to my step-daughter's afternoon wedding. It was a total hit! The compliments just kept on coming. The material is perfect and the bias cut helps it shape the figure. My build is muscular and it showed off my buff arms. It runs long and I am glad I got the regular. I could have taken a 42, but the 44 gave me breathing room. Rent this to feel elegant.

The dress what quite comfortable and elegant, while spending the day at my sons wedding and reception. Wearing this dress for the day not only received numerous compliments from fellow guest at the wedding, but also allowed me the flexibility to not have to change into multiple dresses for different functions throughout the day.

I really loved this dress! It was perfect for a black tie affair. The fit was great for sitting and dancing all night! Great dress thanks RTR! The only thing was that I needed a little more length for the shoes I wanted to wear but just had to wear a smaller heel

I have never felt so gorgeous! I wore this dress for my 30th birthday party and had a blast. I ordered the 44R and the 46R, and wore the 44R, but I probably could have gone down to the 42R. It is long, but I didn't have any issues walking in moderate heels. The bias cut is amazingly flattering and the slit is flirty and fun! It's actually really comfortable, so even though it's long and fancy you won't feel stuffy, just fabulous! The skirt does swirl around your legs when you walk but it's just like a column when you're standing still...so it's not too revealing by any means....unless you wanna work it!

Absolutely lived this dress! First time renting a dress from here but I am so pleased with my selection! The dress fit a bit looser than normal but very comfortable! Many compliments and my boyfriend loved it!

This dress was absolutely stunning! I wish it had fit me however, it was a bit to large on me! Just trying it on though, it was a gorgeous and form fitting dress that accentuated the right parts of your body!

Overall I am very pleased with this dress. I wore to a formal New Years Eve party and received many compliments throughout the night! The bust was a little snug, but the rest of the dress was true to size. Ended up wearing 3 1/2" heels, so the dress ended up being the perfect length. I am extremely happy that I selected this dress!

This dress looks AMAZING on the website photos. It does not look amazing on. :-( Thankfully, I had ordered this as my backup dress, and was very happy to wear my first choice dress (Carmen Marc Valvo Precious Sapphire Gown). When I ordered my dresses, I had no idea what my dress size was. I had just lost 15 lbs and am in the process of losing more. So in the interest of helping out other women who might be in the same position I was, my measurements at the time worn are as follows: bust 36", waist 28", hips 39". The top was either a little big or just cut oddly - the sleeveless/strapless side came down low enough to show my bra. The waist and hips fit well, but definitely do not disguise any trouble spots. The slit hit about mid-thigh on me. The measurements regarding length for this dress seem to be not that accurate. I am 5'4" and in 4" heels, this gown was still 1-2" too long.

I am short so it was just slightly long on me. Otherwise it fit well and looked gorgeous.

I wore this dress to a formal promotion ceremony. I felt beautiful. I typically wear a 6 in most things so I was nervous about the 4. Initially I wasn't sure if the 4 was too snug at the top, but I believe it needed to be snug in order to stay up. Some of the other reviews mentioned the shoulder feeling loose. I didn't feel that way at all. The slit is very high but I loved the peekaboo. It was sexy without trying too hard and for the most part was very modest. I did catch a little breeze at one point when I was walking which gave a little peep of the leg, but I didn't feel like it was ever inappropriate. So beautiful. I loved this dress. I really didn't want to return it and would love to rent it again. :)

I would say this is a sexy dress but that would not do it justice, if you love your curves this dress accentuates them! I wore spanks and felt fine, I usually wear an 8 and have a larger bust, 34dd, and a naturally padded butt. This dress puts the curves front and center, you'll get lots of WOWs! I ordered a different dress, this was sent as a sub because the other dress was returned damaged, great job ladies!

This dress was a huge hit on the runway. I work for a nonprofit and needed to be able to afford a high end dress so as to fit in with the crowd. This dress stole the show. Loved it and how it made me feel! i had a size 10 and a 12 and went with the 10. Very comfertable.

Very flattering fit. I'm 5'7" and was unsure of which length to choose. I knew I was going to wear short heels, so I chose the regular length. Any heel higher than 2" would have definitely required the longer length.

I rented this for my super hot girl as a surprise. It was for a wedding i dragged her to. She was all 'that's a waste of money' until she tried in on. Now she is bugging me to find more events to go to. The gown is stunning. Victoria is a 2 but the zero fit just fine. she is 5'4" the gown is fairly long so you will need a 3" heel at least.

I LOVE this dress! I tried it on as soon as it arrived (new with tags!), and didn't want to take it off. There is a chiffon insert on both sides of the slit, so you really can't see the slit unless you purposefully stick your leg out like Angelina Jolie. I wore it with a normal strapless bra. I'm 5'6" and wore the L with 4 inch heels. It was definitely too long, and I kept getting my heels stuck in the dress all night. If you're around my height, I'd go with the R length. Wore it to a black tie charity event and got a ton of compliments. RTR never disappoints!

Who knew "Jolie-ing the leg" would become a thing! I owned it, and you can too. I highly recommend this gown. Not only did it look stunning, it felt incredibly comfortable. Rent it, rent it now -- before I reserve it again!

Baggy in the stomach area, but was definitely set apart by having a dress no one else had!

This dress is gorgeous! However, I'm 5'2" with a short torso. Please don't ask me why I thought it would fit correctly. In hindsight, it wasn't the smartest idea. But I love how beautiful the dress is. The torso was 2-3 inches to long for me, which led to gaps in the back, side and front of the torso. If I found this on a clearance rack at a boutique, I'd buy it and pay to have it altered. If you have a regular or tall torso--- go for it. This dress is a show stopper. As you can guess, I didn't wear it; I wore my back-up dress (Ruby Red Gala Gown by Badgley Mishka) instead.

FIt was great. The flow of the gown and leg slit may go unnoticed if you're not walking around...or twirling a lot. if that's your thing. It looks like a great, unfussy black gown at rest. It really looks special when in motion.

It was a beautiful dress, unfortunately it was so large I could not wear either size ordered to my formal event.
