I loved the cape! I felt like a superhero all night and had a lot of fun with it. Definitely size down for your backup. I ended up wearing the smaller size and it wasn't tight or too short. (Disclaimer: I'm pretty flat-chested - that may not be the case if you're well-endowed). The only downside is you need to be aware of your angles when taking pictures (I recommend straight on). If you have a tendency to turn to the side slightly like I do, the cape doesn't read as separate from the dress and can make you look a little bigger than you are.

Rented the 10 & 12. Went with the 12 for more comfort. Didn't completely hug all my mid section, but gave a nice silhouette. Cape was awesome.

Loved the cape in the back! The back was a little short but with the cape being longer I felt covered. It was a comfortable fit! Loved the dress and the color. Looks great with gold

This was a very flattering dress, it's lined and not too clingy but still a slim nice fit! The Cape was great and I like a short dress so this was great for me, it looked fab with a big long gold necklace!!

LOVED this dress! It looks a bit plain from the front, but the cape really makes it. I have a large bust so I was worried it might look like a tent on me, but actually it's tailored in a very flattering way so that I still had a figure but plenty of room to dance. I wore gold open-toed heels and a seafoam green collar necklace and got compliments all night -- including from my friend who worked at Chanel! The cape is also extremely fun to dance in: the photographer got tons of candids of me on the dance floor.

First time user of RTR and it was great! This dress was super comfortable and very flattering on my body type (apple). I wore it for an awards show for work - it was appropriate and still trendy. I rented my size and a size up. I would recommend for my figure to rent your regular size and a size down - but it fits true to size! Loved the cape :)

This Trina Turk Dress is great! It has a cape in the back that really makes it a statement piece! This is super fun for a night out, a cocktail party or even a day at the office. The fabric has a comfortable amount of stretch to it and has ample room through the bust, waist, and hips. Runs very true to size, but due to the looser fit of this style I do suggest sizing down for your back up. I'm quite short and found that this hit me closer to the knees. It's absolutely great with a simple clutch or statement necklace.

Comfy and great for short women as the dress would be too high for my taste if I was taller than 5'3". The cape is a great fun update to a basic shift dress, but makes it hard to wear anything over it (e.g. sweater or jacket). So that means it's sleeveless and warm weather only.

I loved what this dress did for my figure! The cape added a unique touch. I received multiple compliments! I wore a regular bra and felt comfortable throughout the event!

When I first got this in the mail I was a little nervous about what it would look like. Admit it does run a big around the waist and the cape is certainly pronounced, but I had so much fun wearing this dress! I usually wear a 4 or 6, glad I ordered a 2 and a 4. Ended up wearing the 2 and it was still a little big. It was super comfy and easy to wear. I am 5'6", 125 with an athletic build.

I wore this gown for a 2nd wedding reception at a formal Chinese dining restaurant. I received compliments all night about how elegant and classy the cape was and the dress overall. The dress was super comfortable and I would rent it again if the occasion to wear something like this came up again.

Pros: -It has a cape! -The fit of the dress is very forgiving. It didn't place any emphasis on my shape, but I was able to eat lots of food without worrying about my belly. Cons: -The material was a little heavy. I wore this to a wedding in NYC when it was 85 degrees and humid. We had to walk 10 blocks to the venue and thought I was going to sweat through the dress before getting to the wedding. Once we were inside it was fine.

Although I didn't choose this dress, it is very elegant and would be perfect for a wedding. The decision not to choose has to do w/the fact that I don't like my bare arms at the moment.

I tried this on beforehand at the Rent the Runway store. It was perfect for the event. I wore it with a statement necklace and a leather jacket and some nude simple heels. The cape was so much fun to dance in!

This dress is a shift style which makes it very forgiving in the center of the body, as a girl with an apple shaped figure, this is a requirement! I loved the cape style, it added that something a little extra. The dress was also super comfortable.

Fits true to size. It's not form fitting, which is perfect. I was afraid the cape would make me look like a super hero but it hangs very nicely.

So I didn't end up wearing it for my event (Indian wedding called for traditional clothes, provided to me after the fact), but I loved this dress. I typically wear a size 0, and I could have gone with that, but I loved the structured look and how well-tailored it was, and the cape added some whimsy and flare. I'd definitely rent this again in the future, when I know I can wear it!

This was a really cool dress, but i wore it to a wedding by the water and felt like i was super man with the cape blowing in the breeze. I wouldn't recommend wearing it to an outdoor wedding. I could've gone with the 2 instead, because it was a little box-y on me in a 4.

How I wish this dress would have fit me. It was just overall too small. If it was made even just 1 size larger, I would have worn it and probably never taken it off. The shape and design of the dress is gorgeous and the material is thick and flattering. Kind of odd to get into.. having to slide in the side.

The cape was a great touch. I loved that it fit over my wide hips without stretching or pulling. It also covered my troublesome midsection. Wasn't super flattering, but it successfully hid the trouble spots.

The dress ran a little big. And the arm holes were bigger than I would have liked, but I was able to disguise my bra a bit by just pulling the dress back a bit and letting the weight of the cap hold it in place. The deep navy was perfect for matching our company colors but being like a "little black dress". It was a subtle statement piece which is exactly what I needed for a work-related event that I coordinated and emceed. Also, I am actually a 32G, but RTR only has select bra sizes from which I can indicate my size. I also have a significant pooch right now from babies and weight gain, but this dress completely hid it once I added a little spanx thong underneath.
