The sequin dress underneath does not have a ton of stretch, so be careful! The overlay makes the dress forgiving though

Wore this for a 1920s Gasby themed event and it worked really well! The dress is very loose and I also rented the pearls from Rent the Runway (pictured). It looks all black here but in person, the top black layer is sheer and there is a tan/skin color under garment. Still really cute though!

Compliments galore on this stunner! The double layer can be a little annoying to untangle and get to lay flat. The pleated top layer is breezy and swingy - I twirled all around Vegas in this! A friend said I looked like Betty Draper. I loved this - and you can wear a standard bra! Love !

This dress was amazing. I was able to wear a regular bra which was a huge plus! I usually wear a size 12 with a bra size of 34 F and this dress fit like a glove. It was so flattering. If you are trying to hide "lumps and bumps, this dress is perfect! I didn't even need to wear spanks!

I got this adorable dress for my company's Christmas party, which happened to also fall on my husband's and my 20th anniversary. (Isn't he a cutie?) The dress was so perfect! It's very twirly and girly. It was super comfortable. I am pretty tall, so it was quite short, but I didn't mind. I was able to wear normal undergarments (no Spanx, yay!), and because the top layer is so flowy, I ate to my heart's content. The bottom layer is solid silver sequins. None of them rubbed or anything lie that. It was a bit stretchy too, so very easy to wear. I have rented three dresses from RTR and this one is hands down my favorite I've ever gotten. I ordered the medium (I'm 5'8" and about 155 pounds) and it fit perfectly, though I did get the backup in large. I was really surprised the medium fit so well. It's a great dress to hide a bit of a tummy, which is my problem area. I really felt like a princess all night and everyone commented on how darling this dress was!

I wore this for a NYE dinner. Loved the movement and flow of the dress, and the sparkle when it caught the light. I also wore the dress backwards with the bow tied around my neck. I am 5'3" and a Medium was slightly longer than I would have liked. My first RTR experience was a success!

This was my backup dress; I got S and M and thought the S was too big and not as short as I had hoped. But when I put it on backwards it looked great! The deep V of the back gave it more edge than the high neckline of the front, and the tie looked cute in a bow. I'm flat-chested so the low V wasn't a problem. Everyone loved it and it was fun to twirl in! The sparkly sheath underneath is more visible than the picture would suggest.

The fit felt strange because the silver sequin shift part fit perfectly, but the black gauzy part is so voluminous that it felt very big at first. It's NOT figure flattering if you're going for that, but it was definitely comfortable and I did get compliments on how unique it was. For a New Year's party where I was walking and moving around a lot, it was perfect. The gauze belled out very prettily when I spun around. If you want to show off your body, this is probably not the dress for you, but if you want to cover up a bit you can do it very comfortably and stylishly in this dress. Note: I'm 5'4" and it definitely came down close to my knees, longer than I expected but it was fine. You can wear a regular bra with it too, which I loved.

This was my first RTR experience. I rented this dress for a "black tie optional" wedding on New Year's Eve in Laguna Beach, CA. I'm 5'10" and was worried the dress would be too short - nope! It was a great length. Dress ran a little large. Definitely did not need to wear spanx and I got to wear a regular bra - score for my DD ladies! I felt like the dress made me look a little larger than I really am as it is super flowy but the trade off is that it was beyond comfortable and I got to eat and drink to my heart's content. I would recommend this dress.

I wore this dress to an evening wedding. The best part about renting this dress was that it's very forgiving. The worst part is getting the dress on. It has three layers that need to go on at the same time which made it challenging and frustrating. I wished it was a little shorter. I took some of the reviewers advice and wore to backwards. Overall, it's pretty and unusual.

This was super cute, a bit more flowy than I expected and looked better backwards as others have mentioned. I didn't tie it, I just left it to make it a bit less cute (was in vegas and going for more sexy look). It does run large, I wore an XS and am 5' 8.5'' about 140 pounds. Wasn't too short which was nice. The sparkle sheath underneath was the best part and you could barely see it. It would have been great on it's own or better if the black overlay was more sheer. It was very comfortable and easy to wear.

It's cute, very work appropriate if you wear it with the tie in the back (like it's supposed to). Almost a little matronly, but definitely fancy enough (b/c sequins) and covered enough for a work party.

The sequin dress is a little short while the black material is big, but it was very flowy and fun to dance in.

I rented this dress for a Gatsby theme New Years Event party. It fit the theme perfectly. If you're tall and slender I'd recommend finding a dress that shows off your body/curves. I felt a little frumpy in this dress. However, it's really fun and I love the silver sequins underneath the black sheath. I'm 5'8 and weigh about 130lb. I could have worn an Extra Small too.

Size down.

I was really looking forward to wearing this dress, but I think the construction is kind of poor. The underneath layer with the sequins is bodycon, which is not at all what I was expecting. The over layer made me look like a potato sack! I ended up returning this for RTR credit.

I'm usually between a size 6 or 8 and I chose the medium size for this dress. However it was a little big. The small would have probably fit a lot better, especially since the it's a flowy dress. Also in the picture of the model, it looks like it is to her thighs, I'm 5'8 and it was down to my knees. My best friend (pregnant) actually ended up wearing it and she loved it!

Just not into this dress. The silver dress underneath is oddly short and tiny but then the black part is HUGE. I love Tracy Reese but not this one.

I rented this so hide a trimester 2 belly and breasts. It only enhanced it. I would not wear this if you're larger breasted, it only makes it look more odd. Not flattering.

My husband wasn't a fan of this dress at all. It too baggy for me. I gained weight so now I'm a size M. This dress is best for women with smaller chest and taller in height.

Dress runs large. There is a lot of fabric and even on my 6' frame I felt like I was swimming.

Gorgeous dress but was just way too big and flowy to be even slightly flattering. Reviews said good for girls with boobs but because of that it made me look even bigger. It also ran too big, I am definitely a medium and the small was even too big so size down. Really sad it didn't work out

The black over-dress is pleated and has ALOT of fabric. It made me look like a house it was so full. The silver sequin under-shift is VERY heavy and could be uncomfortable on a hot day or in a warm room. It would probably look nice on someone tall and thin.

It was huge, way too long, just looked like a big swing dress that was way to big. I typically do large and even medium was big. Cute dress with sequins,but need to be shortened.

Not flattering if your short.

This dress was almost tea-length on me (I'm 5'2") and it just looked awful on me :( The concept of the dress is super cute, but did not look good on me.
