I had read that others had issues with the slip length, but I didn't have any problems with the size I wore. GREAT DRESS!

Because other reviewers mentioned that the green slip ran small, I ordered the Size 4 and the Size 6 so that I could wear the larger slip. I actually didn't think the slips were different -- they fit exactly the same to me (and in fact, both said size "P"). BUT the Size 4 slip had a crooked hemline and sat too high in the front, so I'm very glad I had the Size 6 slip to wear instead, which had an even hemline. Really great dress, and worked great for the 1920's wedding reception I attended!

Loved this dress! It fit true to size, but the slip underneath did run short. The straps can be adjusted to lengthen a bit. This dress was a huge hit and really stood out in a crowd.

I received this dress as a substitution for the one I originally ordered when it was returned with damage. I am so happy I ended up with this one instead! I received so many compliments and it was perfect for the 20's themed event I went too. It is a lot more fun and unique than the typical black flapper dress. It does run a little small and like the other reviews say the slip underneath is a little short. The sequin layer was also difficult to get on with hair and makeup already done. However the size I did wear fit like a glove. I highly recommend!

It was a really standout dress for a fall wedding where most ladies were in dark navy or black dresses. Received many compliments! As many others have stated the slip is a little shorter that the gold bar at the bottom of the dress, for me it wasn't terribly noticeable though. When I rented they only had 1 size 6 left so I didn't get to try a smaller size. I bet a 4 would have fit better as the dress was a little baggy, but it still looked great and was very comfortable! It was an awesome night and I felt beautiful and very comfortable in the dress, definitely would recommend it!

Best RTR dress ever.

The slip is really short and rides up even on a 5'1 small frame. It was worth it though just have to pull it down when standing up because everything will be exposed otherwise. The fit was perfect and a 0 fit me even though I usually wear a 2. Best rental ever and much better option than a run of the mill flapper costume. I probably wouldn't wear this to a non themed event just because it is over the top. The gold border along the bottom of the dress was appropriate for my event and I liked the soft texture.

I thought the under slip was cut a little small. I probably should have got the dress in a size 10

I have hips so the dress hugged my body perfectly, but the green underskirt was short and my hips keep pulling it up that was the only down side of it. The whole night I had to stay mindful of pulling it down. Other than that, it was great. I was also a little hesitant on the length because I didn't want it long. When I looked at the model who wore, her legs seems long and the dress looks short on her, I'm 5'4'' and it fit 1-2 inches above my knees. The fit and length was perfect.

The slip to the dress was a bit on the short side but was able to make it work!

I wore this stunning dress for a wedding. The colors were minty teal and coraly peach and this dress complimented perfectly. The 0 fit much better than the 2. A little snug at the bust, but nothing to worry about. Would recommend!

Unlike the other reviews I read, I thought the slip was a good length and the dress fit true to size. I usually wear a 0 or 2 depending on the dress and RTR had called me the day before to tell me the 2 was not in good shape. RTR was very accommodating and sent me 3 other dresses of my choice in addition to the 0. Luckily, the 0 fit like a glove and I was very happy with the overall experience.

I think i fixed the problems of past reviewers when i received two dresses of different sizes and the smaller petite sized green "slip" was with the larger size 4. I switched it out so the petite sized slip was with the smaller dress. Also, the lovely sequin work on the smaller dress was missing along the bottom so I chose to wear the larger size because it was more intact. Otherwise, if you love the design, go for it. Lots of compliments throughout the night for this unique beauty. :)

I cannot wait to rent my next dress! I got so many compliments the entire night! The dress looked exactly as it did online. The dress was a little big on me but I am extremely petite so I was sort of expecting it. The box came on Friday packed up nicely with the return label for Monday..it was just so easy. Honestly will never buy another expensive dress that I will wear once ever again!

Overall fit is very comfortable...runs a tad large. The green slip fit perfectly for me unlike some of the other reviewers mentioned. The colors really make this dress stand out in a crowd and is a great look for a Gatsby/1920's themed party. Was extremely satisfied with my first RTR experience! Rent this dress-you'll get tons of compliments!

Rented this dress for the Montreux Jazz Festival Loft Party in NYC. It was perfect for the occassion and I received lots of compliments on the dress.

I'm petite, so things typically feel large on me. I wore the size 0 dress. It was a little baggy but the style made up for it. Overall, I loved the dress!

The under slip was a tad short, but besides that I loved it and got a ton of compliments!

I wore this for my 30th birthday party: Great Gatsby theme. The dress was GORGEOUS! I felt super special on my birthday and this dress made it happen! Everyone had compliments for me all night. Would totally rent this again for another formal affair, but I think I will retire it because it was such a special part of my birthday!

It was a gatsby homecoming, so this dress was perfect! It fit great and was so much fun to wear.

This dress comes in two pieces: an outer mesh sheath and an inner slip. If you have any sort of bust or are curvy, the inner slip fit is a problem. It was super tight on me and was too short. I finally threw in the towel and purchased a nude slip to wear under the fabulous mesh sheath. Loved it wearing it this way, but missed the intended effect of the blue slip. The outer mesh sheath is gorgeous and is really easy to wear. I would definitely love to rent this dress again.

This dress reminds of a saree! Beautiful sequin work and the colors make it so unique! I feel this dress runs large as there was a lot of room even in a size 0. The kate spade mint statement earrings at RTR matched perfectly with it!

This dress is gorgeous and I absolutely loved the beautiful beadwork. As other reviewers have mentioned, the dress consists of two pieces -- the greenish blue slip and the beaded overlay. The slip which zips at the side was much more form fitting than the overlay and if it had been any smaller, I would've had a hard time zipping it up. The overlay is larger as it's a simple sheath so there's not any definition at the bust or waist. Some other reviewers have mentioned that they found the gold band at the bottom to look cheap but it didn't bother me at all. I did wear the dress to a fancy dress 1920s party so maybe I was more lenient with the overall look because it was intended as a costume. The slip is shorter than the sheath although the straps on the slip are adjustable so I could have increased the length but then the front would have been too low cut for me. This dress was perfect for a fun New Year's Eve on the town. I loved wearing it and I felt so much more party-ready and confident than if I'd tried to make something from my own closet work. I got so many compliments on this dress — a lady even stopped by our table at dinner just to say how much she loved it — and everyone wanted to know where it was from so RTR might have a few more customers after my rave reviews of the site. I'd never ordered from RTR before so when we got last minute tickets for a Roaring Twenties NYE party, I checked out out the site and thought this dress was perfect but a bit pricey. Luckily, when I checked the site again, there was a NYE 50% off deal so I couldn't resist. I ordered on Friday and the dress arrived before noon on Monday. I loved the thoughtful touches of the party hats, fit kit and tote bag. The return process was so simple. It was a great experience all around and I'll definitely check out RTR for any future special occasion needs.

The first time I saw this dress I knew it would be perfect for the October wedding that I was attending. I was hesitant at first because I would normally choose size 4 and 6 as my backup because I am petite but muscular. However size 6 was unavailable so I went with a 2 and thank god I did! The 4 was huge but the 2 was perfect. I'm used to dresses clinging to the body, but this one is loose fitting. The length fell about 2 inches above my knee which I was not too happy about, but I was thankful for that later while I was dancing. Overall I love the unique pattern of the dress, the colors and of course the sparkle! Accessorizing and doing my makeup was so much fun, MAC even makes a pigment the exact orange of the dress that really complimented my eyes.

This dress is really pretty! It comes in 2 pieces (the green lining and the sparkling top layer). I normally wear a size 8-10 and chose to have a size 6 & 8 sent to me because the dress looked sort of baggy. The size 8 fit, but was snug and I couldn't wear my strapless bra with it or I would not have been able to zip-up the green lining. I have to say that I received so many compliments on this unique dress and wore it with champagne colored jewelry (turquoise jewelry would have been too tacky). My only negative comment would be that the sequins were a little annoying, especially when driving my car with my seat belt on or shifting when sitting. I would definitely recommend this dress!

What a fun dress! I got compliments all night long and besides the bride, was definitely the best-dressed there. Before receiving the dress I was a little worried because after reading reviews, I thought it might be too small. I usually wear 4-6 and the backup-size-2 was a last ditch, just-in-case kind of thing. When I received it they had only sent me the slip with the size 2 though so I'm glad I ordered it! It BARELY went down far enough to meet the gold band on the bottom of the dress. As long as I didn't bend at the waist I was fine and I was able to dance in it for 2 hours with no problems! It was an outdoor July wedding and I was so glad I chose a dress that was breathable.

After reading all the reviews about the turquoise slip, I had a backup plan with a plain maroon bodycon dress that I already owned. THANK GOODNESS!! As expected, the slip was beyond tiny and wouldn't even slightly zip up. With the maroon dress on, I pulled the sparkling & gorgeous RTR dress over it, threw on my headpiece and was ready for the night to begin. It was perfect (minus the slip--seriously, ladies, if you have curves, don't be unprepared when the slip won't fit!!)

I wore this dress to a roaring twenties party. It was a great choice. The colors are more beautiful and vibrant in person but not in an outrageous or gawdy way. It is a great unique dress. I stood out among a sea of black dresses and was complimented all night long.

I wore this dazzling little number for a local fundraising event and loved every minute of it! As per many of the previous reviews, the under layer was a bit "off" and tricky to make work (especially on a cold, dry night - lots of static!). As it turned out, I was able to wear the 2 outer shell and then the 4 base layer. That combo worked perfectly for me. The under layer is pretty short so wearing the 4 under the 2 helped with that. It was very comfortable and looked great in pics and on the dance floor. In fact, when getting a drink, the woman tending bar told me it was by far the best dress she'd seen all night! (Perfect chance to tell her all about RTR too!) In a sea of mostly black dresses, it definitely stood out! I would recommend this one with the caveat that the under layer is pretty short.

This dress is beautiful. The teal slip actually fit me just fine, although I've seen other reviews noting that it was too short. I'm 5'7 and it was fine. I opted for a black slip underneath so it looked better with the tights I ended up having to wear due to the cold. I wore this to an engagement party and got multiple compliments (someone went as far as saying best dressed!). Overall, I think I would have liked it better if I could have gone with the teal slip underneath without tights (but hey, its January). It's not the most comfortable dress, but that comes with the sequin territory. I would say it fits true to size!

Definitely an interesting, beautiful and glamorous dress, voted 'best dress of the evening' by the hostess of the holiday party I rented it for, and even my discerning designer-girlfriend agreed. I loved the color scheme and was thrilled to have perfectly matching accessories at hand. The combination of sheer and shiny fabrics with sequins works great and has a lot more class than, for example, a fully sequined stretch dress. However, the problems noted by other reviewers were accurate: the shift runs slightly small - do size up when you rent - and it is shorter than the shell (for no apparent reason, I'd consider this a design flaw), thus easily showing the bottom hem above the golden velvet of the shell. Probably fixable with some fashion tape. The shell, on the other hand, is a bit bulky and likely better for 'straight and narrow' body types than for curvier women. Nevertheless, a fun and eye-catching dress that served it's purpose 'to shine' and deserves 4 stars.

This dress is actually 2 pieces, which i didn't realize. The turquiose portion is just a slip underneath. So the outer dress is sequined on a sheer shell. Its unique and different and I got many compliments on the dress. The gold band on the bottom hem I felt looked a little cheap but the gold matched perfectly with my shoes. I wore this to a black-tie optional masquerade charity auction. It was fun to wear something I wouldn't normally wear and it was a very cool dress.

Wore this to a Washingonian magazine event this summer. The colors were as pretty as in the pictures, and it was true to size. It was a bit baggy on me (both of my sizes) as I'm very petite and slim-hipped. That being said, it flowed generously over all the lumps and bumps so I didn't need shapewear. Would rent it again!

Rented this for a 1920s speakeasy party and it was the perfect look for the evening from the sequins to the teal, gold, and copper colors. I gave it 3 stars because of the fit - based on other reviewers' comments, I rented a 6 instead of a 4 and got an 8 for backup. I wore the slip from the larger dress and the overlay from the smaller dress, and the slip still rode up and seemed too short for the dress. If you have anything going on in the butt and hips you'll probably have the same. Otherwise it was gorgeous and stood out.

Gorgeous!!! Unfortunately, the blue-green slip underneath was far too short to make this dress decent for the event I was going to. Ended up wearing a plain Spanx slip underneath and I think it still looked fabulous! The underneath slip is far shorter than the outside sheath...obviously so! My mom also looked fabulous in her RTR :)

This dress is amazing! So much prettier in person with all the sequin detail. The outer dress fit great in my normal size 6. However, I had the same issue with the green slip that several other ladies have mentioned- it was wayyy too short and therefore was unwearable for me. I rented both the 6 and an 8 thinking that the 8 would definitely be long enough. However, while the 8 was wider, it was even shorter than the 6. In order to still wear the gorgeous outer dress, I paired it with my own black slip. Not ideal, but since I was essentially wearing this as a costume, I was fine with it. Still received a ton of compliments on the look and am glad I rented.

Because this was brand new to RTR (both sizes still had original tags!) I didn't get to see any reviews, but loved this dress so much that I took a chance! I wore this to a benefit concert in which I was performing. When I put it on, I was slightly disappointed in the red colors, which were more brown/rusty than in the picture. On stage, though, the colors were stunning! But unless you have the beneit of $500,000 in professional lighting equipment, prepare for a slightly different effect. The fit definitely runs small. I ended up with the 0 because the 2 was baggy in the waist, but the 0 was snug at the hips and a little shorter than I usually like. If you're curvy, you'll probably fall between sizes like I did. I think this dress is best for a more narrow frame, but it's definitely a dramatic dress and a showstopper!
