I can't tell you the number of people that commented on this dress!!! The BACK is everything. If it were mine I would've brought the XL for my bottom and tailored my waist. It can run big there but it fit my thighs and bum fine.

Absolutely fell in love with this dress! I wore it for my boyfriend's holiday party. Received so many compliments throughout the night. As mentioned in other reviews it does run big it was falling off my shoulders a bit but I managed I think I could've worn a medium and it would've been better.

This dress was WONDERFUL. I was the officiant for my best friends' wedding and I needed to find a dress much like a mullet - formal in the front, but party in the back! This was PERFECT. Very formal, simple, and classy in the front to ensure that I was professional enough for a wedding ceremony and just the right amount of sexy for a fun night to boogy down. It was a very forgiving fabric and super comfortable. The only complaints I would have is the shoulders would slip off every now and then which was a little risky since I didn't wear a bra. I pinned the bottom of the V in the back so it would tighten the shoulders a bit. Now for the crazy panic that's the kicker to this dress and service. I ordered an XL thinking I would fit better in a "14" equivalent just because I haven't had much experience in dresses lately since I've gained some weight. I didn't think that a 12 or Large would be an option, but since I got to try the dress on the day before the wedding, I quickly realized I was super wrong (yay?), and TOTALLY panicked. I didn't want to be an ugly centerpiece to my best friends' wedding ceremony so I called customer service and they were totally easy to talk to. They overnighted me the replacement dress for free (this may have been because I'm also a Pro member), but I got it by 10:30am the day of the wedding at the hotel we were staying in. THANK YOU RtR!! I wish I could keep this gem, but I'll share it with the rest of you lovely ladies.

I rented this for a holiday party and while the seams in the front ankle beautiful the real wow factor on this dress is the back draping. It has a small amount of stretch to it and I would recommend sizing down for your back up. Also if you're particularly busty I suggest investing in a backless bra for this style.

Loved this dress. Rented it for my 38th birthday dinner out at a nice restaurant that my husband took me to and it was perfect. I am 5'10, and I really loved the length - hit just below the knee (which is hard for me to find - almost everything ends up being short on me!). The photo doesn't show the dress from the back, but the open back is really sexy, yet classic and elegant at the same time (you do need to go braless - or, I wore an adhesive strapless bra that did the trick). Highly recommend renting this dress for a statement piece on a night out.

This dress is true to size and works best for A to C cups because it is fitted at the bust and has an open back. Open back provides minimal support in bust area. This dress is fitted at the natural waist, so curvier women should consider sizing up for full hips. the skirt hits at about your knee, and fabric has no stretch. This style works best for Apple, Athletic, Hourglass, Petite, Pear, Tall, and Straight & Narrow body types. Pair with a pair of metallic shoes and modern earrings

The dress really is true to size. I am a pear shape and although the large was snug it was okay. The top was a little loose but not too noticeable. The material is really thick which makes it a great winter dress. I wore for a New Years party and loved it.

This was my first time renting and the dress was fabulous! I got a small and a medium, because I normally wear a medium, but the small felt fitted and so tight! I got a million compliments and my friend (date) thought it was a winner!

Loved this dress and received many compliments. It was worn to a company Christmas party. The bottom is very fitting and hugged the curves nicely. (very little stretch) The top is and is not fitting. IS in the sense that I didn't need to wear a bra and it held the girls in place. (I am a 36C) IS NOT because it will slide off your shoulders a little. The back truly makes the dress. Ordered a large and medium and went with the medium. Xo.

The dress is unique with a tailored, almost tuxedo styled back. The back is the perfect low length, but there is a lot of material so it makes your backside look bigger. The front is plain and tailored, but it doesn't show up in photos. In person, it's unique and clean, great for a wedding or similar event. Good for someone who is pregnant or hiding a larger stomach.

Great dress, super comfortable. Didn't need to wear a bra because it was thick material and tight enough to get away without one. The back is my favorite part!

Loved this dress. It was easy to wear. The front was conservative but the open back was a nice surprise. The fit is not super tight or slimming if you are looking for that this is not your dress. It's a nice twist on a classic black dress. I wore it with loafers to my graduate degree graduation and it was perfect for the event. The fit was loose on the top due to the open back but a little snug in the bottom. If you consider yourself a little straighter I would size down.

Unfortunately I was unable to wear this dress as it runs pretty large. I'm typically a 0-2 for dress sizes so I went with the XS and XXS but the XXS was still too big. However, I'm giving it a 5-start rating as the dress is very pretty - the drapery in the back is gorgeous!

I have a large bust and didn't have to wear a bra! The dress is heavy and elegant. The open back is gorgeous. A little more formal than I needed but would definitely rent again.

The back of this dress is absolutely exquisite! I want to buy this dress so bad. Do check out the sizing chart before selecting a size. It runs big on top but the crepe has no stretch.

I love the dress and the length, however it runs a little large and the front kept falling down. I used fashion tape and it worked just fine.

I was on the fence about this dress at first (the lower back flap detail stuck out awkwardly), but turns out I just needed the smaller size. The fabric was thick & perfect for a fall wedding. The back of the dress is fun but not too risqué for a family wedding. Got a ton of compliments!

The dress was just past my knees, fit loose, which I kind of liked because it made it look more modern-clean lines. The back was the wow factor, without being overtly sexy. Was the perfect spin on a nice little black dress.

I made a great choice. The fabric was a bit thicker than I thought but it laid very well. The dress was fun and the draping in the back made this dress very special. I had to use a few small pins to make the shoulder fit better. A few small safety pins did the trick! I loved this dress so much- I BOUGHT IT!

Dress runs large: usually a size 10-12, this Large dress was bigger than expected (likely due in part to the style, with the open/unstructured back). Dress is beautiful, however-- just recommend sizing down! I felt great and my husband loved it.

I wore this dress to a new years eve party. After reading the previous reviews, it seemed that the dress ran large, so I ordered a small and medium, since I normally wear a size 6. Even the small was a bit big, but it worked fine for the event. I received many compliments. The construction in the back is beautiful.

My waist is my problem area. The lines on the front of the dress accented my stomach instead of camouflaging it.

I really wanted this dress to work! However, both the medium and small were way too big on me. I called customer service, and they were able to overnight me the xs, which unfortunately, was also too big. I think the problem was in the straps - I'm 5'2" and the straps were about and inch too long. With any other dress, I would be able to tape it down, but because of the heavy fabric and the open back, it didn't look right. On someone a little taller, this dress would look amazing - but definitely size down!

Although the dress ran large, it was gorgeous. The material is very heavy and there is only one hook, low in the back, so it fell of my shoulders. I still loved it and the back makes this dress.

RTR came through last minute with this one for me after my last dress didn't fit - I loved the clean appearance of this one in the picture and the very unique open back with bunched fabric near the bottom. There was only one review and the dress appeared to run big so I ordered the XS and S as my backup. I'm normally a size 2 for dresses true to size, but I was swimming in the XS. I don't have any curves (pretty small bust, butt, and hips) so it just didn't fit right at all because of that - it fell off the shoulders because the back was so open, and just didn't do anything flattering for my hips (very boxy). Since it was the backup dress and my wedding started in a few hours.... my mom and I went to town on the dress with some safety pins and were able to cinch bottom of the backless part of the dress to bring the straps closer together uptop. Long story short - still received a ton of compliments on the back, but from trying on the S (gigantic) and XS (very large) I don't even think the XXS would have been flattering on me. Much better for a woman with curves and a few sizes down.

Recently I rented another dress (completely different style and brand) in a Medium, and it was waay too tight, so, figuring the holiday eating had caught up with me, I decided to rent this in a large as part of my Unlimited package. Big mistake. I am probably a Medium most of the time, and the large on this was way too big and caused it to be very roomy and unflattering. The fabric is a lovely, heavy and warm fabric, and quite thick so it sort of hung off me and with the numerous layers at the back it made me look huge and voluptuous. It was also a little longer than what is flattering on me, coming down past my knee to an upper/mid calf length. I generally prefer a slightly more conservative length, but this was all wrong. Perhaps if I had ordered a Medium, it may have worked perfectly, and I do like the concept of the open back and bustle layers, but I won't be ordering this one again. My husband was not a fan either.
