Fit is right on. Length was good with 4" heels. This dress is even more stunning in person. So many compliments. Isn't it nice to be in a gown that looks this beautiful and you are covered? Not prudish by means! Loved this gown!

The gown is a bit tight around the chest. I’m 5ft 4in / Size 6/8 / medium bust. I wore the SR but I think the MR would have been more comfortable. My partner wore a LL. Can be worn in lots of contexts. The top and skirt are connected. The top is a bone / light grey.

This dress is comfortable and fit like a dream. I'm a sea of beading and cleavage, it stood out as understated, sophisticated and elegant. Love love loved it.

A winter formal and I wasn't freezing! I'm 5'5", 137lbs, 34B, I wore the small, it was a little snug through the chest and shoulders, but was flattering and comfortable. The medium was a little loose. 2 1/4inch heels, and the hem skimmed the floor. The fabric has some give and is a little thicker so it drapes nicely and doesn't cling. Note the top is NOT white, it's a light grey. I wouldn't wear it dancing, if you raise your arms over your shoulders the lining under the light grey top piece is visible. If you want to look a little taller and thinner, this elegant, sophisticated dress will do the trick.

The fit is a bit tight around the hips if you're pear shaped like I am. However it had just enough stretch to work. The slit in the front gives the dress a sexy feel, especially when you walk. I loved this dress

Fit was perfect - very slimming dress. I did not expect it to fit as well as it did. I am short so it was a little long even with 5" heels. This dress was sent for free by RTR, they didn't have my backup size. What great customer service!! I wore this for our formal family pictures and just loved how it looked with my fur wrap.

I'm 135 pounds - 32D , 5'3.5 - I wore 4" heels. The dress is very comfy but I could have lost a couple of pounds for this dress to fit better.

I ordered a regular size 4 and 6. The dresses arrived in regular small and medium. I have larger arms - the size small's arms were tight and I could not put my arms above my head but I didn't need to so wore the small. It fit perfectly in all the right places. The slit was appropriate - it showed just enough leg. With my 3 inch heels the dress laid perfectly near the floor. The dress is elegant, very well made and so comfortable. I received so many compliments. This dress is classy! I wore a long, slender silver necklace and simple diamond earrings. Did not want to wear anything that would take away from the beauty of this dress.

The dress fit perfectly! I had no idea that what I would wear would look so becoming after losing 20lbs from an emergency surgery. I almost gave up on hoping that I would look nice for my son's wedding; but, a co-worker told me about Rent-the-Runway and I had just heard about it in my Audible book, The Sharing Economy...so, I joined and got the best dress ever (earrings and bracelet) that I could have had for my son's wedding! This dress was a dream - elegant and extremely comfortable! It has a slit down the middle to make it easier to walk/dance, so it's perfect for an event with lots of movement. Some things to keep in mind are that the top is actually more of a light grey shade than white, and it'll be a little snug in the chest area if you have a large bust.

Fit was perfect. A little long for my short legs. A little formal for errands at CVS and Home Depot, but perfect for walking your dog around the neighborhood. I may just rent a formal gown for everyday use again! I think I had more fun doing that than I would have going to the ball. #getyourmoneysworth.

I ordered the M and L just in case, bc I have a tendency to think I'm smaller than I really am! Glad I just opened the L and it fit perfectly! I am at a size 10 now and am 5'4" . The length was perfect With the heels I wore!

I LOVE THIS DRESS. I seriously considered buying this dress because I love it so much. It's so classy, sexy yet modest, and could be worn to a variety of events (I wore it to a holiday Christmas party). I received so many compliments throughout the night. Most importantly, I felt confident, comfortable, and beautiful. Some of the reviews warned that this dress is tight in the bust, so I was a little nervous about that but it ended up being fine! I'm 5 ft 5 in, 135 lbs, and wear a 32DDD/E. The small regular fit me perfectly with heels. I got a medium regular as a backup, and the color on the top was more of a gray than a white; not sure if that is because the medium has been worn more times or whether a different fabric was used, so beware if you're getting a medium.

Flattering, comfortable, and beautiful. I'm around 125 lbs and 5'4" and could wear either the XS or S sizes. I chose the looser fit with a bit longer length for my heels. Lots of compliments. Great choice.

I rented this dress for an indoor/outdoor fall wedding, and it was warm enough for 50 degrees during the ceremony, yet light enough that I didn't get too warm dancing inside. I'm a 34A, and the top of the dress was just right - a little snug, as you can see in the photo, but overall a great fit. I would not recommend for band sizes larger than 34, or chest sizes larger than an A/B cup. I typically wear a medium (6/8) in dresses but this small fit well. The top is not white - it's an eggshell/off-white color that looked great in person. The dress is a heavy material that is super flattering on the stomach and waist area. I am 5'8" and wore it with low heels, which kept the bottom of the dress just above the ground.

This gown was the perfect combination of classic conservative, professional, and DIVA for being a featured soloist for Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass in New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall. Don't let the stock photo fool you....this dress is all about the slit! Super sexy and elegant. I got so many compliments!

Fit well - was a little long even though I have height and wore heels. It flowed like a train so it worked but given the opportunity again, I'd probably get the regular length.

Beautiful dress! Simple, elegant and super comfortable! If I would have gone with The small the train would not have been dragging. But went with the medium due to my bust size/fit, and loved the little added touch of a slight train.

A creme and black dream of a gown! Running true to size, we recommend sizing up for backup. Although this style has some stretch we do recommend it for smaller busts (A-C cup). The creme fabric is thick and will not allow for undergarments to show through. The hips are fitted and the dress is more fitted at the natural waist so we do recommend sizing up if you're curvier in the hip area. It's important to note that this gown has a slit, so be aware that your shoes will show. Pair with sleek jewelry like a cuff and cool studs.

Loved the fit. Only negative was the original photos did not show a train and it ended up having one. But overall loved it. I am very tall and it was a perfect fit.

I wear a size 8 and 5'6" tall. With a medium size heel the length was perfect. It was a little snug under the arms.

I wish the top white section was a little longer since I have larger boobs and it kept coming up and showing the slip material when it was dancing. But otherwise, it was beautiful and very comfortable!

This dress was absolutely perfect for a black tie optional wedding. It's comfortable, flattering, and surprisingly elegant. While both the small and medium sizes fit, the top was a bit tight on my chest and shoulders in the small size so the medium was more flattering. This difference is apparent in the second picture where I'm wearing the small on the left and my sister is wearing the medium on the right. The dress was little long on me even with 3 inch heels, but the slit does make it much easier to walk in.

The first dress to arrive had splotchy white bleach marks around the neckline so RTR overnighted me a replacement. The dress fit perfectly and was very comfortable. Fabric is a bit thick but conceals any undergarment lines, etc. The hem was a bit snagged but wasn't too noticeable. I imagine this is from heels getting caught in it over time. I wish the top was a true ivory as it is actually a bit of a dingy color. Not sure if this is from so many cleanings or if it is meant to be that way. All in all, I felt great and very appropriately dressed for the occasion.

Pros: I was surprised to receive so many compliments from strangers with this modest dress! The front slit was a nice "trendy" feature on a otherwise classy dress. I felt comfortable and beautiful in it. Cons: Runs a bit large. I would order an XXS if available. Length was just right. Dress is a bit warm. I was at an in-door gala (cocktail hour, dining, auctions), so it was fine. If I was outside or planned to be dancing, I would have overheated.

I wore the dress for an Oscar's Party. The dress was actually my backup dress. It was perfect, so classic and comfortable. The dress is true to size and length was perfect with 3 inch heels.

Always one to play it safe, I didn't want anything too glitzy or glamorous for a gala I was attending with my colleagues... and this dress was the perfect choice for just that! The dress was simple, yet elegant - and with the right accessories, you can play it up, or choose to leave it be. At 5'10 wearing heels, it was just the right length (sweeping the floor), but if someone shorter was to wear it, I'd be a bit cautious. The bust area was a bit tight in the size small (couldn't raise my arms above my head or put my hand on my hip without the white portion riding up), but chose to stay in the size small since the medium was too large and left my figure looking boxy. As for the rest of the dress, it's not too tight and if you order the right size, it's form-fitting enough to give you some shape. Overall, I loved it and would definitely recommend if someone's going for an understated look for a formal event!

The neck area was a little tight but otherwise fit well. The peplum top with trumpet bottom is especially great for someone fairly tall like me.

Always an amazing renting experience from rent the runway- but this wasn't the dress for me. I wore it to a "Black and White Formal" at the GA Aquarium for NYE. It was very fitting with the theme I will say that. I got it in a size large, I'm usually a dress size 8 or 10, and boy oh boy was it SNUG. But regardless it zipped up well which was nice. I think my main issue with this dress is that the portion that fits over the chest would always slide up. Like you were flashing someone but still had fabric underneath. Just made it kinda awkward, but then again, I'm a large chested gal so maybe not everyone would have that experience. If I were forced for some reason to ever wear this dress again I would size up to XL and also order it in a long. It's a nice quality with thick thick material so I could see it being good for someone else. I think the slit really saves the dress making it fun and playful- otherwise, it would look too matronly. Really this is more of a professional business gown for like a work gala than a fun NYE gown.
