I wore this to a bridal shower and didn't have any guidance on level of formality. This dress is cotton, classic and un-fussy, so it's great for a dressy but daytime event. I got both a small and a medium--the medium was fine, but the small looked better through the bust, though it was pretty tight right at the base of my rib cage. I went with the small size. The weather was cooler than expected and I have some pretty gross poison ivy, so I wore it with black tights and booties, and thought that this gave the dress a nice edge. It was a bit long on my shorter frame but still a nice length.

I LOVE the color and length of this dress. I wore it on my birthday for a day date and thought it was the perfect spring dress. I had help with the buttons on the back, but they may be difficult to button alone. I received many compliments on this dress while out!

The dress is a really pretty muted periwinkle and so well made! It was a bit dressy for work and a little formal for date night, but I still felt like an everyday princess. I had to do a few twirls and let the wind catch it to admire the way it moves (the lining is great, so no "Marilyn moments") It's hard to secure the back buttons by yourself, but I was able to do it after a couple of minutes of struggling. While it's super flattering on high waists, the bust was extremely tight. I almost thought it wouldn't fit but made it work.

This style is extremely comfortable and a great day event style. The detail at the bottom and along the back is truly unique. This dress is fitted at the bust and in the waist area, however the full skirt allows for a looser fit. This dress can be easily paired with a pair of casual heels or sandals to complete the perfect daytime look!

This was a great dress to wear for work. I saw another reviewer wearing the dress backwards with the buttons in the front instead of the back, and it was a great idea! I ended up wearing the dress backwards and it worked and looked even better that the regular way! I got a ton of compliments and had a lot of fun wearing it!

The dress is a lovely light weight cotton material. I had no problems buttoning myself up. I was able to wear a regular bra with it and I also wore a slip. I was very comfortable in it and loved that it had pockets! I got many compliments and would love to wear it again.

This dress was so pretty! My favorite part was the buttons going down the back. I had no problems with any of them coming undone, thankfully. I also was able to button them all myself but help with this would be ideal. The dress fit me really well with the exception of the button around the bottom of the chest, it was a tad bit tight which was weird since the dress fit great everywhere else. Very summery dress and I received some compliments while wearing it!

I loved this dress and got lots of compliments on it, especially the color. I felt super feminine in it because of the cut and how light the fabric was. I'm only 5"4 and felt like this dress showed a bit too much cleavage on me. I think it's made for taller women, because it seemed like it was supposed to have a tighter waist and bust. I felt a little like I was swimming in this dress, even in an XS, and the waist and bust were much too loose. Even so, I still loved it and would recommend it to anyone who wants to feel ultra feminine or loves periwinkle blue. The color was so beautiful!

This dress was very pretty and the material was soft and flowy. I really wanted to love it, but there were a few important things that made it hard to like. First, in case you're like me and don't read details, this dress buttons down all the way down the back. It was hard to manage by myself, but more importantly, the buttons did not stay buttoned throughout the day! The first time I noticed (someone was kind enough to point it out!), I thought it was a fluke, or that maybe I had missed a few buttons when I put it on, but I noticed a few more come undone pretty quickly after that. Thankfully I had thrown my garment tape in my bag, and I ended up putting a piece between each button. I didn't have any issues with it after that. I might have understood the issue if the dress were too tight or if I was being super active, but neither was the case- the issue buttons were on the flowy skirt part and all we did all day was stroll. The other issue was the overall fit. I ordered a medium with a large for back-up (I normally wear size 10/12). The medium fit in the bust well, but two buttons would have been tighter than I was comfortable with where the waist hit. If it had been a zipper, I would have gone with the medium, but I didn't want to strain buttons. I had a little extra room in the waist with the large, but not enough to be an issue. The bust on the large however, was enormous. I don't usually have issues filling out the top of a dress so this came a surprise. I tried to use garment tape to take the back in a little bit, but there was a lot of extra fabric to work with. I did end up wearing a jean jacket over the top because of the weather, so it wasn't a huge issue, but I would have been uncomfortable wearing it without it. Overall, the dress was cute and if it had fit well, I really would have loved it!

A little narrow in the waist. It fit me, but could be challenging if this is your problem area. Buttons up the back.... which was an adventure in flexibility. Has pockets! I wore this to work, and then rode my bike to dinner with friends. This is a PERFECT summer dress!

The dress was adorable and fit beautifully but unfortunately there were buttons missing, so I could not wear it. The waist is very cinched but really I loved this dress and wish I could have worn it. RTR customer service is top notch- I had an issue with one of the dresses from my last rental, then this one so I was upset. They have refunded me twice for the issues as well as sending me an extra dress with the $32.50 fee for the rental I placed next week (I was panicking being there were issues twice in a row.) Overall their dresses are fabulous and their customer service is top notch.

I loved this outfit, its cute, kind of preppy, kind of simple, its adorable. If you are looking for something super cute for summer to wear to work with pearls this is the outfit, the detail on the skirt is so nice, It came a little wrinkled I sprayed downy spray and pulled it a little to flatten the wrinkles and bam it was an instant hit! LOVE IT you will too!

I rented for a more edgy summer affair then this dress ended up working out for. The dress itself is soft cotton and could not be better for Easter or another Spring pastel-type occasion, but didn't work out for the event I had planned on wearing it to. Also, the XS is a true XS. My waist goes teeters between a 26-27 and the XS was stifling, I would size up if you find yourself in between.

Was not able to wear because the waist was too tight. I would say a size Small correlates to a size 4, or a small size 6. Wear a Medium if you are in between a 6 and 8.

Lovely summer dress, useful for many events or day wear. Too bad this didn't fit me. The dress was too short waisted and the waist hit at he ribs making it too tight and uncomfortable to wear. The buttonholes are a bit stretched out as well. Lovely color and fabric. Disappointing that I didn't get to wear it!

This is a surprisingly comfortable, fun dress that makes me feel very feminine and carefree. When I first received the dress, I had a lot of trouble getting it on and buttoning the back; however, the longer and longer I'm wearing the dress, the more I love it! A few people have told me it's a little bit too Big Love or Little House on the Prairie, but more creative types agree that this is a funky dress. Makes me want to run through a sunflower field!

Cute but way to much ironing needed and it wrinkled too easily.

My husband commented that it was a "little house on the prairie" dress which I had mixed feelings about. I really like fit and flare dresses and I loved the color and detailed, flowing skirt. Overall it was lovely and I enjoyed wearing it. One size note, I'm small on top and the top was too big enough to bug me after a few hours.

This fit perfectly except for the part where I couldn't button it up right at my bra line. There is no stretch, so it was unforgiving. There was enough room in the bust, I was just a bit to broad (about 3/4 of an inch) to button it up. Great dress, which I could have worn it!

The dress is beautiful, and I got compliments on it all day, BUT you must be careful with the buttons! Sadly, this is a really unreliable part of the dress. Four of them came undone while I was sitting in church and I had to make a dash for the bathroom to fix them. Later I was out running errands and the buttons that are right below the waist came undone. It wasn't that they were too right because they were on the flowy skit part of the dress. It could definitely be an embarrassing situation if you aren't paying very close attention to them. Lovely detail all around the hem though. You'll feel pretty, you just have to be careful in it.

Very cute, but wasn't right for the occasion I was going to. Reminded me of Provence, France.

I rented this for the weekend and ended up wearing it to mass on Sunday. Got compliments from strangers, and even the priest! The top is baggy, but the "waist" - which hits right at the bottom of the ribs - can be really tight. The pockets are great and I didn't even need a purse. It was cute, but not comfortable because of the tightness.

I didn't have a chance to even wear it because it was small.

but the chest runs small. Couldn't wear it as a 34D.

Not terribly flattering. I didn't end up wearing it because the dress has multiple layers and it was very hot outside during the time I had it.

I was'nt too happy with the fit. I usually wear an XS or an S. I am 5' 4'' and 118 lbs. I feel like the XSR was too tight at the waist and the loose at the shoulders, so Im not sure if an S would have fit either. I am petite on top so that might have been an issue. The outfit itself is very dainty and will look beautiful on someone if it fits their body type.

I wanted this for Easter Weekend events and was happy with the dress overall. The cut and length was good for me (5'10") and I wore it to an afternoon event with flats. The top was a little big, even in the size 8 but I have a small chest. The lining in the skirt was wonderful and the hemline very detailed and pretty.

Love the cut and color but it's extremely trim in the waist and bust but generous in the hips. It has no zipper which also makes it difficult to put on with it's all button back. It could be cute but go big or skip it.

Even pregnant, my normal size was too large length wise. My husband called me "Amish". It has buttons in the back and is a pain in the ass to button by yourself. You'll need assistance. Plus it was a linen cotton blend that wrinkled quickly.

The dress was adorable but the fit was a little off. The waist is very high and was super tight (could be the extra pounds I picked up on vacation!) but the cut of the bodice was loose and low. For us shorties, the length was just a little long...past my knees but not quite tea length. I think the small would've been too big. Sadly, this was a miss for me but would be a great garden party dress for someone a little trimmer.

This dress looked cute online but I should have known it would not work for a 9-month-pregnant lady. I can't really say much about fit since I couldn't button it, but it seemed to run a little small. The skirt was much fuller than I expected.

The XSR may actually be a true S. It did not fit at all. But the details of the dress is beautiful. I wish it fit!
