As others mentioned, this is made of a woolen suiting material so it is quite warm. Perfect for work in the winter with tights. My office isn't super formal so I paired with gray booties and a long fun necklace. I love how the dress has a nice cut but still flows in a comfortable way without being overwhelming. The arms, however, were too long but with the slit at the end it was easy for me to fold in. I would definitely rent again!

Theory is one of my favorite brands. Theory always delivers leaving a flattering, yet simple sophisticated look. I spieed this up with High Top Black over the Knee boots. Paired with a Black trench and looked so expensive.

I dont usually wear things that flare out so much at the bottom but this one was definitely a win. So many compliments! Im a pear shape, 5'7" and small fit my top perfectly. also i met tom hardy in this dress so sending it back to you with all the tom magic ;)

This style is a great alternative to the pinstripe suit! Warm for the fall and winter months. Loved pairing this with a cute pair of sneakers. This style is very roomy, however due to lack of stretch in the fabric, I would suggest going up a size as a back up.

I really liked this dress. I am typically a size medium, and this did fit true to size in the shoulders and arms, but it is very flowy and almost tent-like. I paired it with tights and booties. I'm 5'7" but didn't find it too short. It is shorter in the front and longer in the back. I will agree with another reviewer that it was smelly in the armpits and that this particular one should be pulled from the inventory. Otherwise, it was cute for a dinner out.

I wore this to my company holiday party and it was perfect! It's more of a suiting material which I was expecting but loved! The arms were a smidgens snug, the material has some stretch to it so it loosened up! I liked this more than I thought I would!

Nice wool flannel pinstripe. A bit short for work!! I'm 5'9", so may look shorter than it would be for others.

The shape is super generous and the material makes it great for fall. I took it edgier with over the knee socks and biker boots.

I got this for work, but I love it for everything. It's a suiting material, but the swingy cut makes it comfortable and easy to dress up or down. I rented a S since that was avail, but I could have fit either a S or XS I think. The bust and sleeves on an XS may be slightly snugger, but I'm pretty small so would be able to make either work. I actually liked this one so much, and it's so all-purpose, that I purchased it.

I wore this dress to dinner with tights and booties and plan on wearing it to work! The pinstripe feels appropriate but its also updated - its also very cozy! I did not find it itchy at all. I normally wear a medium and found a little stretch - though it fits my arms and shoulders, and I might be comfortable in a size up the body of the dress would be way to large! I do plan on purchasing this one!

I worried the shape of this dress wouldn't work with a 34C chest but it didn't make me look pregnant or like a tent. I thought this was such a cute dress and I'd rent it again for sure. I have long arms and sleeves can be a struggle but these were nice and long.

The fit was unusual but it's well made and worked. The fabric was thick, warm and cozy. At 5'4 the dress hit mid thigh. I imagine it would be too short for taller women.

I loved this dress. It has a great weight to it making it excellent for cold weather. It is longer on me (at 5'5") than it appears on the model, which is exactly what I was hoping for. It fits really well and looking great on a fairly small bust.

Mens suiting fabric. Everything you expect from Theory -- looks "conservative" at first glance in its orderly, smooth fit, but is totally NOT boring or square in its fun, swingy shape and wacky little split flare at the sleeve. So very "me" (might not be "you") -- I absolutely fell in love with this dress the moment I put it on. It has a very defined fit at the shoulder, bust and arm (and then no real fit at all in the body) -- needs to fit you well there as it has no stretch. I chose the small as I am not slim in the shoulders and arms even though I am an xs everywhere else. (and it's flattering even though I am not slim in the arms...) Below the bust (which is well defined, even on the bottom side, it doesn't hang like a tent) it's loose, so it's fine for those who are self-conscious in the lower half. I styled with tall boots or with nude heels, but as other reviewers have said I don't wear flat sneakers like the model as I am short. Also it was not super-mini on me as it was on the model: totally work-appropriate, in a conservative industry at 45 years old.

The dress is really beautiful amd fits well. Bery thick so its warm, but also oretty itchy. I have to weat a seeater iver it because it came ripped along the seam.

This dress/tunic fits really generously, but doesn't look sloppy. Unfortunately the armpits were a tad smelly when I received this dress--perhaps the wool makes it more difficult to control. Nevertheless, I wore it many times on a business trip last week, and wish I could keep it! Perfect for me.

I wore this dress for work when I had a long day of meetings and no time for fussiness. It looked great and I was comfortable all day long. Would consider renting again for a casual event. Really slimming effect on the arms!

I wore to work and a fundraiser at a brewery. It was a little shorter than I prefer but the fabric was much nicer than I was expecting and the sleeves were beautiful and trendy. Wish I could keep! Could easily dress up or down.

I'm a huge fan of theory and thought I would give this dress a try and I am so glad I did. I wear a size 10 in Theory and I would say this runs slightly big - the medium fits perfect with room to move freely - My concern was in the arms and overall length (my legs are long) but it worked out well - it fits perfect!

I think I would have loved this dress even if I wasn't 8 months pregnant, but it hung perfectly without making me feel shapeless. The pinstripes are classic (the only con is that the material is a little scratchy). I wore it on a warmer day but it would be perfect with black tights and booties too.

I got an L so the dress was a little big but it was really comfortable and fun to wear. I loved the sleeves. The fabric is a bit odd but it's a great dress to wear to work with booties if you want to look smart but feel like your in PJs.

The fabric is heavy but not too heavy. Winter/fall wear with tights and maybe high boots. Winter add a scarf and coat ;-)

For theory I definitely think runs large - I thought after reading the other reviews that the sleeves wouldn't go past my wrists in the Small, but it was a perfect fit. Made of suiting material (which at least to me wasn't super evident from the pics), and not quite as soft as I would have wanted. Great for a day when you want to look pulled together and professional but still comfortable.

I have been looking to rent this for awhile, but in pictures it looked too plain and "tenty"...why did I wait so long?!?! One of the best things I've rented thus far!! The slit sleeve is a great touch. The sleeves do fit snug, not a lot of stretch. But I wore this on 2 desperate occasions, once with my ASH gaucho over the knee boots and another time with tall boots, just changed to accessories. I need this in my closet!!!

This dress is everything. It is formal but feels fun. I wore it for a conference where many people wore suits or business casual or hip workwear. This dress was flattering for my apple shape, the material is a sturdy, woolen pin stripe, and everyone commented on how I always look so polished and put together, and how this dress was no exception and that the next time they want to raid my closet (ha!). I smiled gracefully, and accepted all the compliments.

Fit was a little big but it does not look frumpy. I wore with black tights and booties. Tons of compliments. The sleeves are long but I loved them.
