This dress is generous in size and really needs the belt. To be extra secure I suggest pinning the belt.

Dress is terrific and very comfortable. Note - this is VERY long. I wore it with very high heels and still needed to take it up a lot. Used fashion tape to create an 'emergency' hem and it held for the evening. The back 'panel' is also heavy, so it does pull backward. Tons of complements. To make it my own, I added a thick gold metal belt instead of using the self-belt.

I loved the color and style of this dress for a young professionals gala in DC. I'm 5'9 but wore small wedges so the long dress was dragging a bit. The belt is also teeny-tiny. I wore on the loosest setting, but it would pop open if I sat down or laughed. I ended up safety pinning it looser and it was fine. Received lots of compliments and had a great night!

The dress itself was a totally different material than I expected. Not as high end as I would've expected based on the retail price or based on gowns I've bought in the past for $800+. The bottom hem isn't a typical hem it's wavy with a stich finish (you can sort of see it in the picture). I got the 6L and 8L due to availability and was happy because the 6R would've been to short with the 4inch. heels I wore. I wore the 6L dress with the 8L. The belt doesn't buckle, it's just a small silver ball that you push through the hole. It wouldn't matter what size or how loose it fits, it's going to come undone at some point. I ended up using two large safety pins to semi-secure it until the dancing started. Then I put the belt in my clutch and just wore the gown free flowing. I got just as many - if not more - compliments without the belt (it really allowed the cape in the back to stand out) It's a beautiful dress and clearly hangs well.

I was so excited to get this dress. I took a chance and ordered it before there were any reviews. The dress is a tent dress, so there's no waistband. That's not exactly clear in the photos. This makes the belt absolutely necessary. Well, it's a great belt. That's what sold me! BUT the belt kept popping open. It's just a tab closure holding in all that fabric. This dress would be fine for dinner and standing around but not for dancing. I opened it up a notch, still popped open. I used the double sided tape provided and it STILL popped open. Unfortunately it's a great dress in theory, but the belt is a major design flaw.

Overall: The dress was a great fit, and I received many compliments! Only complaint: The dress was too long, so I had to hem it temporarily with fashion tape

This dress is so elegant and beautiful. The color is a little more red than in the picture. The panels in the back hit the floor, and they do not in the picture. I absolutely love this dress- I wish I owned it! I found that the dress ran true to size. Would rent again in a heartbeat!

I had ordered this as a back-up dress incase the other one didn't fit correctly. Luckily my first choice worked out because I didn't like this one. It is a shift dress and I am not exactly what you would call survey so I ended up getting lost in all the fabric. It is also a really heavy fabric so it wasn't right for prom because I couldn't have really danced the night away like I did.

I was really disappointed with this dress. The material is VERY heavy and thick, and not in a good way. Other reviewers have stated that it's like a sack, and I definitely found this to be true- even with a belt, it had no shape and just felt heavy and awkward looking. The strips of fabric on the back arrived tied in a knot, and the fabric wouldn't smooth out no matter what I did. The color is a lot more orange than it looks in the photo too. I wanted so badly for this to be a beautiful and elegant dress, but it really just failed in all aspects. Sad. :(
