I received so many compliments!
When I found out they only had a 6L available, I was very nervous. But at 5'7" in flats, it wasn't noticeably too long. I did want to post my picture though because I was shocked at how much cleavage showed. My husband enjoyed it, but it made me a little uncomfortable. I'm a natural D, so if you're in that range, you may want to plan to bring a camisole to wear under it. The dress looked stunning, otherwise, and moved beautifully. I received at least half a dozen compliments on my dress and am so glad I chose it. Special thanks to the helpful stylists at RTR.

I love this dress! It was such a beautiful color and the cut was really gorgeous, very flattering.
The dress was slightly large in the bust, nothing a little padded bra can't fix. The color is a lovely champagne blush, very interesting and unique. The best part about the dress is the way the over skirt flows out behind when you walk, very regal. The length was just perfect for me (5'11') with 3" heels. All in all a stunning, perfect dress. Highly recommended.

PERFECTION!
For my flirty thirty birthday party, 1930s themed, I got this dress and it was absolute perfection! Comfortable, glamorous, didn't trip over it as length was just right, great sensual cut for less busty girls (needed some tape just to feel safe)... Only slight difference is color from RTR website photo... its not actually that pinkish, its more neutral which makes the shine of the material much prettier in person rather than an entire solid color all over. Wish I could wear this again as more long glamor dresses should always feel this comfortable! But since I was the bday girl and having a whole photoshoot (more photos coming soon as soon as the photographer sends them over to me) I can't play repeat on this one... Definitely a must rent for all you girls out there. My bday theme or not, the Hollywood glitz & glam from another era is definitely a main feeling this dress exudes ;) Thank you RTR for making my bday so memorable with this dress!

This dress is simply stunning! I rented it and another dress, but I ended up going with the other dress. I did, at least, try this dress on, as you see in the picture (please excuse my lack of make-up). At 5'9" with 3" heels, the 6L was perfect. I didn't even feel like I would need double-sided tape, as the front doesn't "gap" open if you have good posture... I found that when I slouched, the girls tended to show more than I'd like, but if I stood up straight, all was good!

How my hubby looked at me when I put it on :)
I absolutely loved this dress! If your looking for sophistication- This dress exclaims it! Have some double stick tape on hand -you'll need it with this plunging neckline. The dress was true to size. However I did feel the long, was a bit too long. I'm 5'9" (okay 5' 8 and 3 quarters -whatever...) I needed to get buy the highest platform heels possible to be able to wear this dress with out tripping on the hem. And even with those, the hem still grazed the floor. My husband pictured is 6' 3" and you can see I was at least 6' with the crazy high heels I bought in order to pull it off. If anything- if your questioning size; get the size you normally wear, and get the regular, and the long in the same size. I wore the 6 and it was very comfortable, if I would have went up a size like suggested, I think I would have been swimming in it. I don't consider myself to have a small waist either, and this dress was not tight there at all. I felt totally comfortable in it all evening. I can't say the same for the shoes (ouch!)

Old Hollywood Glamor at its best!
I chose this dress after my original pick was unavailable. The amazing ren the runway team not only let me get another dress but they let me pick out a dress regardless of price. (my original dress was only 125$ which is what I ended up paying for this dress.) I did take a gamble though picking this out because I wasn't able to get a back up size. But happily the dress fit perfectly, only a little snug in the hip area but the extra fabric covers that up, which makes a stunning cape like flow to your hips. Everywhere I went the back of the dress flowed with me. I was very surprised how the color of the dress complimented my very fair skin tone, the dress is more of a peach copper tone in person. Only worry and concern I had about the dress is that the fabric is can be very easy to snag so all night I had to be cautious to not snag the fabric. (I recommend not wearing any jewels with it.) Bust wise the dress is very loose up top and being a 36 DD was surprised how much of the fashion tap I needed to use. I don't however advise sizing down because of the bust only because how snug the hips are. Overall I received allot of compliments of how everyone loved the way the dress fit and looked on me, I was constantly told how I looked old Hollywood and like a goddess.

I received several compliments on my dress and had fun pairing it with awesome jewelry!
First time renter & Very satisfied. I of course waited until the last minute to find a dress. A friend told me about Rent the Runway so I gave them a try! The dress was perfect. Great condition and ultimately the perfect fit. I am almost 5'8 and orderd a 6L, which worked out great. It was the perfect length with about a 3 inch heel. The ONLY thing that I had a small issue with was the top. I wear a 36 B cup and it was a little big up top, showing my bra at times. BUT, nothing a little extra padding couldn't fix, hehe. The bottom of the dress, although it may not look it, was very fitting which was fine, but just an FYI. Overall, it was a great experience as a first time renter and would definitely rent again.

Gorgeous flowing elegant gown
I wore this stunner for my daughter's wedding and was quite happy. I had many compliments on its color, fit, and pure elegance. The draping is mesmerizing as you move. Many people noted that especially. I did wear the 6R and the upper part was very open and loose. I went braless with breast shapers and double sided tape that I used from sternum to shoulder and that worked out okay. I have cleavage but didn't want to show too much as mother of the bride! For the hips down, the hip area is very snug, so the disparity between upper and lower half was quite curious. I had originally thought to wear the 8R but it was inordinately large on me and my daughter said to go with the 6R. (FYI The 8R that I ordered as the backup had multiple snags on it, so I wouldn't have worn it anyway.) Overall, very happy. I wore the Miriam Haskell Secret Garden cuff and then Ben-Amun Disco Drop earrings. Perfection.

Beautiful dress that made me feel like a goddess!
I wore this for a "Hollywood Glamor" theme event. It was the perfect blend of elegant and unique. The silk material is so soft and luxurious (careful with your accessorizes as it is also delicate and may snag easily.) Cons: I have a VERY flat chest {34A} but very ample hips {38.5"}. I rented the 6L and the 8L. The 8L swallowed my upper body but fit perfectly around my hips. The 6L fit better on my upper body but was tight on my hips. I used fashion tape from the top of my shoulder all the way down to my breast bone. I bought a thick push-up bra and padded it with silicone inserts. I had to do a lot of taping - silicone insert to bra, bra to boobs, etc - to keep everything in place. I also wore two - yes TWO - pair of Spanx since the 6L was tight on my hips. So if that sounds like a lot of work, it is. Pros: NO ONE else will be wearing a similar dress and you will feel like a million bucks. Once I taped myself in and crammed my butt into my Spanx, I felt like a beautiful statuesque movie star all night. And my "fake" boobs looked awesome! The dress just flows when you walk. It is so well made and so unique. The color is darker than the RTR picture suggests. More of a coppery peach tone. Flash bulbs make it appear more pink. I wore 5" heels. (Probably could have gone with the R instead of the L) I pared it with simple jewelry - emerald tear-drop earrings and a long gold lariat and crystal bangles. Even with all the work, I loved this dress and would own it in a heartbeat!

This dress could have been perfect but my skin tone was too close to the color of the dress and so I would say that in order for it to be flattering you would have to be very fair or very dark skinned. Also, the chest was a little big.

Old Hollywood Glamour
I had gained a bit of weight and was looking for a dress that would make me feel pretty without being too body conscious. This dress was perfect - I felt glamorous and pretty. The 8 was a little snug on me (due to aforementioned weight gain I think, not the dress itself), and it does cling a bit, so if you're on the cusp and would be self-conscious about that, size up.

Wish it had fit
This was my top pick for a formal affair, but unfortunately it did not work for me. The length and waist of the dress were perfect, but the top was much too long, so that if the waist of the dress was at my waist, there was a bunch of extra fabric at the top. This might work well for someone with a VERY large bust if they don't mind showing a lot of cleavage or for someone with a long torso. I think my torso is a bit short.

Romantic, Beautiful gown…very flattering but too much material up top for short torso girls:(
The only size available when I called was a 6R. I'm normally a 4R but was told this dress runs small so I should be ok. Upon receiving the dress I was super excited as it's gorgeous! The silk material is so comfortable and makes you feel like a sexy greek goddess, the color is romantic and beautiful too. It's very flattering, covers the hips and tummy if you need to hide in those areas. My problem was in the upper torso area. I'm 5'3" and have a short torso…you know one of those girls that if a bra has straps that aren't adjustable it's just not going to work. The straps always have to be adjusted a couple of inches. This dress simply has too much material on the upper portion above the waist for a girl with this issue. If it was a dress I owned it would have had to been altered with several inches of material taken up and altering the front could mess with the integrity/look of the back of the gown. Just doesn't work for us short torso girls but to die for if not. Keep in mind I'm a 34 D so it's not that I didn't have enough to fill out the bust, just gapped wide open because it was too much material for me, not sure if a smaller size would have been better I think I could have gotten away with a 4…the dress felt like it ran true to size to me.

The dress was a backup and just did not outshine my first selection.
Shows all your curves and runs small. It is also low cut and not good for conservative events, but nice cleavage for a great black tie party.

Tried this dress but not worn
I usually wear a size 10 so I tried this dress in both regular and long. It is a beautiful dress but way too big on top (I am a 36DD). I would have needed a couple inches taken up in the shoulders to get this dress to fit. It fit very nice in the waste and hips. I was disappointed that it was so big on top. The long was very long ... it would work if you wore very high heels.

really depends on body
I rented this dress for a wedding in size 2R and 4R but didn’t wear either of them. It wasn’t the size that didn’t fit as this is the type of dress that’s pretty forgiving even if it’s a bit tight. It’s the entire SHAPE of the dress that works only for particular body types. If you have a short torso, this will NOT work for you. The 2R fit well in many aspects but not the shoulder straps and the back clip, which ended up looking like a baggy hunchback. (no, not drapey) Also, the behind area has 2 layers – the layer underneath which has a zipper, as well as the layer that’s part of the “cascade effect” – the layer underneath was a bit “lumpy” enough to make it visible to the top layer so the toosh looked…lumpy! Usually I’m a size 2 – this def runs a bit on the big side. I have a bunch of other Temperley London clothes (mostly tops) and her design and quality are both incredible. This is the type of dress you really need to try on. Or at least know if her dresses work on you or not. (also, if you have a tan/olive colored skin tone, this will wash you out).
