I'm size 14 in daily clothing and I usually I'm size 16 on gowns, so it runs big. The dress was beautiful, comfortable and with enough room on the chest area.

I originally ordered a different dress for the occasion (a formal work banquet) and that dress did not fit at all! But after calling, we decided to go with this one. I was not actually able to see a picture of it until after I decided but I trusted the stylist and she helped me a lot! I was nervous at first because it hugs the hips and that was one of the problems with the first dress but the material around the hips allowed for some stretching when I sat in it. I thought it wasn't going to be big enough but it was! The size 18 which is the one I thought would be too small was actually huge, so I ended up going with the 16 and it fit perfectly! So I suggest sizing down or at least getting the size down as the backup. Also, the length of the dress was exactly what they said so I just wore a 3 inch heel and it was perfect! I am definitely a pear shape and it fit really well! The only negative is since I'm a bit smaller on top, it did have some extra room but I don't think that was too big of a problem! The material was very nice and overall this dress was perfect!

This is a truly spectacular dress in both fit and style. I received many compliments throughout the night from family and strangers alike. I am a size 22 and ordered the size 22 without a backup (it wasn't available), and I'm happy to report the backup wasn't needed. The black triangular panels in the middle created the illusion of a smaller waist while the neoprene-like panels around the hips and upper-thigh had a nice amount of give to allow for more flexibility and movement. However, when sitting, it can feel tight from mid-thigh to the knees, but this is minor compared to the overall fit. With 1 1/2" heels, the dress length hit the sweet spot by not dragging on the ground, nor showing all of my feet. Overall I would highly recommend this dress.

This was my first time using RTR, so I was skeptical, but I needed something for a black tie event. What convinced me to buy were the reviews and pictures of REAL women wearing this dress. Everything they said was spot on. The dress does run a bit big. I could have probably gone a size down, but as you can see you can't really tell. I ordered two sizes and ended up wearing the smaller size. It was so, so comfortable. I was never spilling out and I got to wear my own bra with it. I was getting compliments ALL NIGHT from everyone, AND on the picture I posted across social media. I felt so beautiful and wanted to keep the dress forever. The person who wrote, "This dress really IS all that and a bag of chips" is spot on. I can't wait to use RTR again for my birthday. Take note it looked a tad long, but nothing a pair of short heels can fix. You can even see my toes poking out in the pic. Someone noted that the material felt cheap. I agree, but that doesn't really matter as it LOOKED fabulous.

I'm 5'5 with 42DDD bust, and wear a size 20w in casual dresses. This gown fit perfectly, and I wore flats. I loved that I could wear a regular bra underneath. At first I was afraid it wasn't too flattering off the hanger, but after sitting for 10 minutes, the dress formed itself to my curves and my waist looked amazing!!

Rent the Runway's Chicago store saved me! I had rented another dress and when it showed up, it didn't fit. This one was in stock and I was able to switch it out the day of for a very formal nonprofit gala. Beautiful overall!

I rented this dress for a black tie affair in Washington DC and it was absolutely perfect! I am normally a 16W or an 18W and opted to order the 18W and it fit perfectly. It was only slightly big in the bust but because of the sleeves you could not even tell. The dress is very comfortable and you can wear a normal bra with it. I would order this dress again and again. The only small drawback is that it is rather short. I am 5'8" and had to wear flats with the dress so that it hung to the floor.

This is the first RTR dress I have ever rented that I have been sorely tempted to buy. It is truly, truly, truly all that and a bag of chips. The dress runs large. I mean get real. 5'8", 206lbs, and I'm wearing a 14W? Seriously. The hips fit well, with a little give, but not so much that you feel like you're wearing sweat pants. And, for the win, you can wear your plain ol' ordinary workaday bra underneath. No strapless. No pinning. Just put it on and instant glam. Do spend the extra to rent this. It is SO worth it.

Dress was lovely, really liked that I could wear a regular bra with it. A little hard to zip around the banding in the middle but got lots of compliments on it throughout the night

I received this style as a back-up, as they did not have both sizes for the previous dress I rented. I wasn't sure what size would be best, but the 14 was way to big, almost seemed like pajamas. The style was a bit dated for me, but would be a great mother-of-the-bride dress. I don't usually wear styles like this, but the side panels were flexible, had a lot of give. It would have been interesting to try the 12, I think that would have fit. I think this dress is a great option for the right event/person.

I wanted to love this dress. It would have been perfect for my formal. I ordered a couple of sizes up, since formal gowns seem to run small, but it came in and was huge! So please order true to your size. I thought about ordering a smaller size, but I just wasn't impressed with the material. It seemed almost more like something you'd find in a Halloween shop than an elegant designer gown.

The color of the dress and structure makes it look wonderful on the body. It is honestly comfortable to wear, easy to zip up. The only problem I had was that the dress was a little long, but high heels pretty much fixed that problem.

Based on other reviews, I ordered a size smaller than my usual size and unfortunately the dress was too tight across my midsection (but fit perfectly or even a little big on top). So sad, because the dress was incredibly beautiful and the color-blocking was super-flattering!

I felt like Cinderella. Several people said I had the best gown at the party. It is easy to wear, comfortable and simply beautiful. The fabric is very forgiving. Not sure what I will wear next year to the same event, because I may not be able to top this gown.

I have a large bust and am always worried dresses won't fit there. This dress is great for busty gals, BUT it is very short. I ordered up 2 sizes and that dress was way too big, but still not long enough. I'm only 5'7" so if you're very tall this might not be the dress for you

Great length and fit. I wore shoes with just a 1-inch heel.

The zipper only slid down 1/2 way. Both my husband and I tried to zip it down, but were afraid. We did not want to rip the dress or damage the zipper. Fortunately I had a back up dress - but I really loved this one and was disappointed that I could not.

Too large

I am small in the chest, large B, small C cup. So I had to buy a huge push up bra (the bombshell) to fill this dress out, Sorry no good photos to share, although it was beautiful and comfortable. Love for the darker fabric, stretch for a perfect fit.
