The dress I originally wanted became unavailable the day of our event. So RTR sent me a whole bag of amazing dresses to make up for it. They were all fabulous, and I ended up choosing this one because it was comfy and really special. And did I mention comfortable? This is the most comfortable dress ever. And gorgeous whoa. I will say it was a bit wide on top - maybe if I were taller it could have hung lower and the shoulder width wouldn't have mattered? In any case, the dress was really great and I didn't care.

This dress is absolutely beautiful, the back is amazing! I originally ordered the 6R, since I'm almost always a 6 in dresses and other reviews seemed to point me in that direction, but when it arrived and I tried it on, it was about 3 inches too short (with bare feet). I called and the stylist service was awesome, they literally had a new dress out to me in minutes! Unfortunately, neither a 6L or 8L were available, so I was sent an 8R as a replacement. I was a little nervous it would still be too short, and it would be too large, but it ended up working out with a VERY low heel, and was actually much more roomy in the bust area, allowing me to wear a push-up bra, bonus! So my advice would be if you are 5'5" or taller, and plan to wear any type of higher heel, go with the long. If I had to do it over again, (and I definitely would!) I would order the 6L as I feel it would have been the perfect length with a decent heel and because it was a little more form fitting through the waist and hips, thus holding you in a little better and accentuating your curves :)

It didn't pinch in the armpit like I thought it would it just got caught in the fold of my pec muscle if I relaxed with my shoulders forward. This was good because it reminded me to have good posture the back zipper with the gold all the way down is kind to curves and makes your bum look nice

I rented the same dress style in the black/white for a B&W only Gala some months ago and got a lot of compliments. However the gold and black took it to another level. I loved it and felt quite sexy. I am busty (as you can see from the first pic) but outside of that pose, the dress does not show too much cleavage.

Being very petite with a larger bust, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find any long gowns to fit me in all the right places, but this one fit absolutely perfectly. The length was just right when I wore about 4 inch heels. It fit like a glove throughout the bodice and the chest, although some women may feel uncomfortable showing cleavage, in which case I would recommend this dress if you have a smaller chest. Overall, I would give it an A+. Beautiful, very well made, and extremely comfortable.

I loved, loved, LOVED this dress. It fit perfectly and was the perfect dress for the black tie wedding I attended. I felt like a spokesperson for RTR because I couldn't stop bragging about my first rent with them. It exceeded my expectations and I can't wait to rent with them again :) rent this dress ladies, you'll feel and look so beautiful!! (Don't mind my odd hip shape. It was an odd, quick stance and wasn't very flattering!)

This dress made me feel amazing. It was form fitting, and the neck let me have some cleavage, and yet made me still feel elegant. The length was perfect. I ordered a 2P and didnt even need a back up. I am 5'1 and wore 4 inch heels and it hit the ground perfectly. The only con is that the golden part around the neck didnt lay flat against my collar most of the time, but it wasn't a big con, still looked fabulous.

This dress was the best! I received compliments ALLLLL Night. Be prepared. It fits really well and true to size. The top is snug but not tights so no need for a bra. The coverage on this dress was fabulous, just enough cleavage showing to keep it interesting but not indecent. The close fit made for a sexy, exotic feel all night.

Fabric was wonderful--heavy knit, so no steaming needed, draped beautifully, and withstood occasional tugging (the latter only necessary to keep yoke collar from pushing forward). Fit around the neck helped keep shoulders and back straight. Length was fine (I'm 5'5" and wore 2" heels) - in front, toe of the shoe was just visible, in back gown puddled slightly on floor. Only problem: the gold brocade around the front of the neck and above the cleavage was fraying a bit. Compliments all night long--wish I could buy it!

True size very comfortable and elegant.

I love this dress because is simple but so different. It fits true to size. Very flattering. The length was perfect. I wore it to a formal wedding. I'm 5'5", wore really high sandals. Received compliments all night.

This dress was magnificent. The fabric felt sturdy and luxurious. It fit like a glove without squeezing or feeling tight. The gold on top creates a long slim figure, and I loved how I felt all night. Super comfy and just the right hint of glam without feeling like an attention seeker. I have broad shoulders which can be problematic in dresses but not with this beauty.

I hosted the a red carpet event for Game of Thrones in San Francisco, and this dress was totally on-theme! Received many great comments about the style. The 4L would have fit perfectly too, however the arm holes were too snug to be comfortable. Went with the 6L, which was just a hair too long, even with 2.5 inch heels. Not a big deal, I was standing in the same place most of the time!

The gold on top is a little itchy, but otherwise, if flows gorgeously, fits like a glove and the waist detail gives you incredible shape. I love it, as did my date. He said it was his favorite RTR so far.

This is one of the most fabulous Rent The Runway gowns I've ever worn! The compliments were endless and I felt like royalty! The front of the dress is lovely but the back is really the show-stopper! For such a form-fitting gown, it was surprisingly comfortable. I'm 5'4" and wore the regular length - perfect with my 4" heels. There was just a slight train which was perfect as the event I went to was mostly standing with lots of people. I was able to wear a regular strapless bra and also opted to wear spanx (more for personal peace of mind than necessity - the dress holds you in well!). The 2R also fit but I felt more comfortable in the 4R so I chose to wear that one. Highly recommend this dress when you want to make an elegant statement at your next formal event!

This fit me perfectly. The fabric is heavy and lays very nicely, it wasn't too tight and very true to a size 6. I'm 5"11" and the long was a nice length for me - the back touched the ground and the front is a few inches shorter, so no problems with tripping. I have seen some comments about arm holes being tight - I never noticed that, and the gold laid flat enough for me. Love this dress!

I went for the 4L because I liked the idea of a short train. The material of this dress is amazing and forgiving ;) (I indulged a little at dinner). I felt like a princess. If I didn't take so many pictures in this dress, I would order it again.

I selected this dress as an option after both of the sizes of the original dress I rented for a black tie optional winter wedding were unable to ship to me. It fit perfectly, and I liked that it had a little give. The 4L was the perfect length for me in 4" heels. The dress has an asymmetrical hem, and there is a slight train in the back, which I had to pick up when I was dancing to avoid people stepping on it. I was fine with that, but it's something to keep in mind. I was a little worried about too much cleavage, but it was fine with a normal, lightly lined bra. I think that I could have squeezed into the 2, but it probably would have been to revealing for a wedding. I received lots of compliments, and felt comfortable in the dress for the 9 hours I was wearing it! I definitely would recommend this dress!

The gold shows folding and pulling easily, so I had to use my best posture all night. The black fabric, however, is thick and forgiving. Wearing 3.5" heels at 5'7", the front of the dress was about 3" off the ground. Probably should have opted for a long. That said, the dress was phenomenal. People walked across the room to compliment me, I felt gorgeous and confident, and I would wear it again in a heartbeat. Plus, the ladies at RTR were incredible to work with and the return process was super easy.

It fits wonderfully and accentuated my curves. I usually toggle between a 4 & a 6, however the arm section was tight in the 4, so I wore the 6. Very comfortable and elegant. Love! Love! Love!

Loved this dress! I am 5'7'' and wore the 2L with 5in heels. The front of the dress was about a half inch to an inch off the ground. The dress is a bit of a fit and flare style, and there is a slight train in the back which was very pretty. I didn't have any problems walking in the dress, even with the slightly tighter fit around my thighs.The material had some give and was pretty thick and super easy to take care of. The material also drapes very nicely over any bumps in the midsection so I didn't have to wear any spanx! I wore this dress to an event in the winter and was very worried that the salt on the ground would ruin the dress, but it came out easily with some water! I received many compliments from everyone at the event, even the staff running the event made a point to tell me how elegant the dress was! I loved how different this dress was, especially after seeing many of the same dresses/styles at the event. This was my replacement dress after my original rental was damaged, and I am so glad that I had the opportunity to wear this one! I would definitely rent this again!

This dress made me feel so glamorous! It has a bit of stretch so it's comfortable. It hugs curves in the right places. So happy with it!

I rented this dress for a black tie wedding on New Year's Eve. It is amazing. Gorgeous, slimming & comfortable. The back is especially stunning. I felt beautiful & got so many compliments. I didn't want to return it! The 2R fit like a glove but was way too long - even with 4+ inch heels. The 4R was the perfect length. Odd that the 2 would be longer than the 4 - maybe they accidentally sent the 2L. The 4R fit a little looser but still looked good. I love this dress!

This dress is absolutely show-stoppingly gorgeous. I got more compliments than I have at any event in my whole life, between the dress itself and how beautiful it was and how skinny and amazing it made me look. I wore it for a black tie wedding on New Year's Eve and I could not have been happier with my dress. The size fit like a glove and accentuated all the right places. I regularly wear a 4 so I would say it is true to size. I wore very high heels and the length was perfect - I am 5'2" so normally I would wear a petite but with 4-5" heels this dress works for shorter people in a regular length. I didn't even step on it once! I would highly recommend this dress!

I wanted something classy with a small twist to it, and this was a beautiful choice for my New Year's Eve party. The gold on black looked amazing, and the little gold side contrast shows off your waist very nicely. The 4L fit really well except the arm holes; they squeezed my shoulder/armpit area a little too tight and made it a little unsightly. The 6L did a perfect job though! The arm area looked nice and the dress size wasn't too much bigger than the 4L. The length was perfect; I'm a sucker for gowns, so a dress that goes to the floor and has a slight train to it makes me giddy. I loved the dress, and I'm so sad to see it go. Perhaps another time Theia, Graphic Gold Gown!

This dress is absolutely STUNNING! People stopped me all night. The fit was perfect. It was dramatic and different. The back is gorgeous. I wore it to a rehearsal dinner and got compliments all night long. I wore the 0R. I'm 5/7" and I wore it with 4 inch heels and had plenty of length so I think the regular runs a bit long. The 0L would have been way too long.

Beautiful dress... I received a lot of compliments! The dress was very comfortable and I could easily dance in it. I usually can were a 4 or 6 but ordered the 6L to be safe... the back was a little big, but overall it fit pretty well.

Loved this dress - fit like a glove and had such beautiful features. I wouldn't consider myself "busty" - but this dress definitely enhances your assets and curves! Be careful bedding over....the front cut- out can cause exposure.

This dress fit like a glove and is made of thick material that makes you feel secure and confident. I did wear Spanx because the event was days after the holidays and I was feeling very overweight. When you stand up straight, shoulders back, this dress is stunning. If you slouch, the gold top will gape at your neck - kind of a nice reminder to sit up! I worried that I would look too busty with the chest cutout since I am a 34DDD, but it was just enough! I received many compliments and felt great - the gold was enough sparkle to feel festive on NYE but not too much, remembering all eyes should be on the bride. The material was also warm enough to wear outside in Chicago on NYE. Unfortunately, the next day in pictures, I could see that after dancing throughout the night my Spanx slid down in the back causing back fat to be visible because of a gap between Spanx and bra strap. You may be better off not wearing Spanx to prevent that from happening.

The only issue about this dress is the back showed my bra band lines, otherwise this dress felt amazing and comfortable and I got so many compliments! I would recommend it to anyone going to a formal affair that wants a modern/edgy twist!

Easy to dance in.

Stunning dress!! It's simple yet beautiful, it's comfortable and elegant. I wore it to a wedding and received a ton of compliments! The only cons are 1) the arm opening is small, digs into your armpit and 2) the length - I'm 5'2", ordered the regular and even with 5" heels it was way too long so I had to pin it.

This dress is really beautiful. Really classy with just enough edge. I wore it to a wedding on New Year's Eve and it was perfect! This dress fits into the sparky theme while still being really beautiful and elegant. Really nice movement when you dance and the material is stretchy so it was pretty comfortable. The fit is pretty good. My only problem was that the top was kinda big and my bra was poking through the side. It was a big loose at the top gold part. (pic attached) It also shifts a little. The gold line is supposed to be down the center back but it shifted throughout the night. The zipper is a little hard to get up because of the gold part. It's a little thicker there. I didn't like it at first but I fell in love with it by the end! I wore spanx since it's tight and I'm not that thin.

I wore this dress to a great gatsby themed party for NYE. it was comfortable and pretty. I wouldn't say it wowed though. The back is more flattering than the front I would say. All in all a good dress.

This dress hugs all the curves and everything was just right. Wish I had worn a lower cut bra. Spanx smoothed the way.

No need to hem it and you can wear a full bra. Fit perfectly in all the right places. The back of the dress was also breathtaking. Great dress. I would purchase it if I attend formal events often.

I wore this for a Mardi Gras Ball. It was perfect. The fabric moved easily so I could dance in it. The top showcased my features without being trashy. It was beautiful.
