Loved this dress! The fit was perfect, the petite was perfect for me (5'3), with heels and flats it worked/ very fitted on top. I have a 28 inch waist and the 8 petite fit like a glove. I wore a halter bra and was covered.

I wore this dress to a friends winter wedding in DC. I absolutely loved it! I was comfortable all night and the back is really pretty too. The skirt has tons of layers to it making it very thick and luxurious, and there is a slit in the skirt, but it's unnoticeable unless you look for it. 8/10 would rent again.

The fitted waist and loose skirt where great for me because I am smaller on top and have bigger legs, also the 2R was a little long for me even with tall heels. Overall great dress recommend it.

I wore this dress for a formal holiday event and absolutely loved it! After reading several reviews, I was nervous a long would be too long so I ordered regular sizes. I am 5'9 and the 6R was a perfect length as it just grazed the floor. Do yourself a favor and rent this dress!

I loved this dress so much! It is true it is a little long, but it was incredibly comfortable!

This dress was beautiful, comfy, and elegant! Even with 4.5" heels, the regular length was plenty long enough. The neckline is perfect for a larger bust, and the waistline is forgiving (especially for those of us who have had kiddos lol!!). I highly recommend this one, ladies!!

The back detail made it interesting and hip while the front was suitably modest for a work event. 4R was long as others shared, had to gather up the dress for stairs, etc but fit very well and felt great in it.

Top half of the dress is thick and I was very wam through out the night. Dress does run SUPER long. I'm 5'4" and wore a 3.5" heel and ended up tucking the front of the dress under the Satan dash just so I could walk in the dress. There is a high slit that only appeared when I sat down.

I'm 5'10 and rented the 8L. I always have issues with dresses being way too short on me since I'm so tall, but this dress was perfect!! With heels, it touched the floor...so if you get the long, expect it to be just that, very long. I LOVED this dress so much. It was perfect for what I needed it for and I got sooo many compliments. Can't wait to rent my next dress with RTR!!

I am 5'-5", 140 lbs and was able to wear the 6R with 3" heels.

I loved this dress sooo much! It's a universally flattering shape- tight around the waist but ridiculously comfortable and swirly everywhere else. Works great with a strapless bra. Perfect length with 4 inch heels. I have a short torso so the back bunched up a bit, but wasn't a problem. The 4R and 6R fit identically on me, oddly enough.

The fit was nice. When sitting the waist was a bit tight. The dress has a gorgeous flowing bottom half. If you have small boobs it's a little loose up too.i would absolutely rent this dress again. I'm 5'6 and the regular was perfect

This dress is everything. Form fitting, elegant neck detail and swishy skirts. I felt confident. The material was easy to move in - danced all night! I received a ton of compliments on the design and fit especially paired with an up-do to show off the interesting back. Ladies - don't hesitate. This is the dress you've been looking for. I'm dying for another reason to wear it again. Anyone need a date to their next formal event? ;)

It fits true to size. I got a 4L which worked but it could have been 4R. Im 5'6 but pretty narrow so there was a lot of flowing dress I was hauling around all night. I got ALOT of compliments. The cut out back of the dress added so much style and took away the restricting feel of the turtle neck. Overall, VERY beautiful dress, extremely comfortable!!!

I am 5'6" tall and wore regular size heels with this dress. The length was perfect! The skirt is so full and elegant. I received a ton of compliments. I wore padded cups, but didn't necessarily need to. There is a slit in the skirt, but I didn't realize it until later in the evening, so it isn't prominent at all. It was very comfortable and I would definitely rent it again!

This dress was incredible and I felt beautiful in it! I got so many compliments on the gown, and I couldn't have been happier. I wish I could find this dress because I'd love to own it! The fit was perfect for me, and it flared at just the right spot on my hips. Love, love, love! I had a lot of extra fabric even in high heels, so you probably don't need a long... I'm 5'5", 125lbs, 34D and wore a size 2R with my tallest (4" or so) heels to help the length.

I am 6'0" and the long was actually a bit too long - I had to wear 3-inch heels to prevent the dress from dragging, but other than that the dress fit perfectly. I suggest wearing your hair up or to the side to feature the back side of the dress! I didn't need to wear a bra either YAY!

This dress was awesome. The skirt was fun and twirly, and I hardly noticed the slit (but it was helpful when dancing). What really made the dress was the back of it. It was so cool and unique. I was able to wear a normal strapless bra with it, which was nice. I like that I didn't need to wear a necklace with the high neck line. My fiance loved it.

I wore this dress for a black tie optional wedding in December. It was classy yet the perfect fashion forward look with the neckline and back design. So comfortable too! I'm 5'7 and the regular fit perfect with heels. Another RTR success!

This dress is gorgeous! 2 cons: I'm about 5'5" and it was definitely long on me, even with short heels. The other issue I had was that it is very fitted around the waist and was sewn so that I couldn't unzip it all the way, and therefore couldn't pull it down over my hips to take it off. It was also snug enough that I had trouble pulling it off over my head as well. I had to be very careful. Otherwise it is a very flattering cut and the material is very flowy and comfortable. The details on the back are beautiful as well. It was a great dress for a fancy wedding in downtown Chicago.

Very comfortable and non fussy for a winter black tie affair. I felt very glamorous and received numerous compliments for the elegance of this dress.

After reading the reviews I got the 8R and 10P. Good thing I did. I'm usually an 8, this dress has little to no breathing room at the waist, so definitely size up for some room during dinner. I'm 5'3" and 143 lbs and was a little over 10 weeks pregnant. The 10P fit well, still very little breathing room. However the length was perfect with 2" heels. The skirt is my favorite part of the whole dress. It has such beautiful movement. I felt so airy and light as I walked across any room. This dress is made for women with longer torsos. I had to use safety pins to pin the back straps, there's three, closer together so that way they would stay on my back. Otherwise when I was standing up they would bow out and away from my back. I'm sure that double sided fashion tape could work too. Overall I really liked this dress and would rent again after I have my baby!

The size 8R was not available to ship so had to go with the back-up 10P. Length was perfect with 3-4 inch heels so I'm glad I went with petite; the regular would have been too long. Loved the flowiness of the skirt and especially the eye-catching back! I'm small up top so the size 10 was roomy in the bust, but the stretchy material hid that a bit. Would rent again in size 8P.

The zipper was sort of annoying because it kept getting stuck. The dress is fantastic and fits well. Glamorous for a black dress but fairly plain. The back is intriguing but it kept bending when I sat down. My favorite aspect of the dress was the flow but it was definitely long for me even with heels. I’m 5’4 and 135 with an hourglass shape.

I wore this dress to my husband's company's 200 year anniversary party at a museum, which it worked great for. I chose it mostly because of the waistline as I was 4 months pregnant and wasn't sure how big my belly would be and it worked well, although it was definitely snug under the bust before it flares out. The size up ended up not being available when they went to ship and I didn't like the replacement they chose at all. This dress is super formal, very flowy, fabric heavy and should only be worn to black tie events. The 'long' is super long.. I'm 5'8" and wore 3" heels and I was still tripping on the bottom. I did receive a ton of compliments on it, but because of how much I had to fidget with the insane amount of fabric and length on the bottom, I don't think I'd rent again.

The ONLY con is that this dress is SUPER long. I fell on the dance floor because I kept getting tripped up. This dress was made to be looked at. It is gorgeous in every way. I would rent it again, but not for a party where I know I will be dancing the night away.

If you you are 5'3 or shorter (I'm 5'1) get the petite length. I selected regular because I would be wearing 4" heels. Even with the heels the dress was long. I had to hold it up while walking. Not RTRs fault. It was still doable. Next time I will order petite length

I am 5'8" and wore 2.5" heels and this dress was a great length (if just a touch too long - however I will take too long over too short). Waist fit great, back is beautiful. I am not too busty (34 b) and the top was a tiny bit baggy, but just used some inserts into my low-back bra to fill it up. Fun dancing dress, swirls and moves beautifully even when you walk. Overall, classic/simple dress that got compliments and wasn't over the top.

The fit of this dress was perfect. I'm a 34FF Uk size bra, measurements 38-30-40 on a 5'6" frame. The top was perfectly snug, though with as large as my chest is, the torso length was a little short, and the "waist bar" of fabric was about 3" higher than my natural waist. I received plenty of compliments, and accessorized simply. My only complaint was how incredibly long it was. I am 5'6", wore 4 inch heels, and the dress skimmed the floor still - I tripped all night.

This dress was stunning and flattering, but the 6L was SO long. There is a lot of material in the bottom half of the dress too, so because of the length, I was unable to wear the dress. I am 5'8" and the size recommendation was for anyone over 5'7" to order the long length. I tried with my 3" heels, and it was still dragging. I was not willing to wear taller heels than that. Was gorgeous though, and bummed I couldn't wear it!

This dress was awesome: it fit great, was super comfortable for a long night out, and added just enough drama with the flowy skirt and pretty back. Also nice with a moto jacket over for cooler temperatures. One word of caution: the fit notes suggested a long for height over 5'-7". I am 5'-8", wore 4 inch heels and this was still way too long for me. Had to hike it up when walking all night to keep from tripping. Still a great rental - would highly recommend this dress!

This dress was fantastic for a winter formal event. The flowy bottom is very forgiving and the neckline is classy. This dress is really thick and a great fabric. The only downside is that it is really long. I’m 5’2” and ordered a 4P and still needed 4” heels (probably needed more than that)! I would absolutely order this dress again! I also cannot say enough about Rent the Runway. Their customer service is the BEST! After this experience, I’m going to give the Unlimited membership a try!
