This dress was absolutely beautiful. I got compliments on it all night! I could have worn the XS but the S was definitely more comfortable for an evening full of fun, drinks, and dancing :) Highly recommended!

Dress fit true to size. I used fabric tape to help secure the back and shoulders so it did not feel like it was going to fall off and I doubt it actually would have. It did get a bit itchy towards the end of the night but overall, I loved the dress.

I rented this dress for a Gala that I helped coordinate. The theme was "Blue Grotto" and this dress perfect! Great length and I loved the back! I did have to tape the shoulders with fashion tape because they kept sliding off but his dress made me feel like a million bucks! Not to mention, I bragged about the service RTR provides to all my friends and co-workers!

I loved that this dress was not too short and the lining gave me some coverage. Worn with an adhesive backless bra, I felt supported yet could go backless.

I was so pleased with this dress! I have an ample bosom for how narrow my ribs are so I was happy with the amount of support this stretchy backless dress supported my girls- that's almost unheard of! The lace was a bit itchy at the edges of the dress, not a over, but that is easy to deal with when you see how great you look! My husband didn't want me to return it ;)

Beautiful dress. I am tall so the dress was a little short...but appropriately so! Wore it to a New Years wedding. Even though its backless, I felt pretty secure in front because the fit was great!

I really cannot say enough about RTR. This is my third time renting and every time I am impressed. I rented the Halston Heritage Stormchaser dress in 2 and my second choice as a 0. I received an emailed that my second size would not be available so RTR will send my first size - and my choice of ANY dress regardless of cost - for my troubles. RTR had me send them my top five picks - this dress (Slate & Willow New Derek Dress) as my top - and promptly fulfilled my request. When the dress arrived it fit SO MUCH better than my original pick; I absolutely loved it. They also sent me a complementary pair of earrings (Nicole Miller Silver Southern Plantation Earrings) that were to DIE for and pulled the outfit together completely. I received so many compliments and had the time of my life! Lastly, I received a holiday gift in the mail from RTR tonight ! I cannot rave enough about the experience and the customer service of this website.

Loved this dress, and I got so many compliments. I wore it to my husbands office/client Christmas party (with probably 500 people there). I think it's even prettier in person. It cinches in at the waist, and also hid my little mommy pooch, which is the area I am always most concerned about hiding. It fits true to size. The inside lining is a bit stretchy. It is also conservative in the front, and sexy in the back. It's a good way to be sexy for a conservative event, without showing the boobs off. Only cons were that it's itchy, but I would still wear it again. If you have small shoulders, you may want tape to keep the back from slipping off at the shoulders.

I wore this dress to a wedding and it was absolutely fabulous. I received SO many compliments. I wish I had a picture of the back of the dress because it is stunning. Make sure you get Hollywood tape so that the back can be held in place and don't plan on wearing a bra with this dress since the back is so low. The dress was a little itchy but perfect length to be appropriate in a church. It is navy blue underneath the lace but looks black from far away. The elastic band around your waste makes this a very slimming dress. It is tight and form-fitting. I was so sad to mail this dress back.

This was my first experience with RTR and it was wonderful from beginning to end! I had read the reviews for the dress, and appreciated the suggestion that a blazer be worn to cover the bare back when attending a wedding ceremony in church. The dress arrived on time, both sizes were in excellent condition! It was very flattering, I felt beautiful and got compliments all day and night long. The dress was extremely comfortable, we danced for hours. Two observations, the zipper is a little tough to get over the seam at the waist (side zipper) so you might need a second pair of hands rather than forcing it. Also, because the back is so open, I found the sides gapped a bit and sometimes slid off my shoulders, even with the snugness of the dress. I didn't wear a bra, but those who want to wear one will definitely need to use something that won't show in the back. Lovely dress!!

Lots of compliments on the dress. Comfortable to wear even though there was no back, & being large chested. It actually made my chest look smaller than it is, which was a huge plus. I wasn't pulling it down, or adjusting through the night at all.

I wore this dress to a wedding I attended with boyfriend's family in early October. The medium was an easy fit and comfortable, and I threw a black blazer on to cover the open back while at the church ceremony (pictured). The slip underneath is navy, and there is black/silver lace on top (It made it a bit more interesting than just black/silver, plus, I matched my bf's navy bowtie!). You'll need to wear a Nubra/backless bra due to the open back.

I loved this dress and so did everyone else! The bottom fit perfectly, but I did find the torso and shoulders a bit large (certainly not enough to take away from the beauty of the dress or make me feel uncomfortable, though). Highly recommend for an elegant fall/winter look!

The dress was made of a great thick material and was very flattering. The dress is definitely more navy than black. Overall I would definitely recommend this dress. RTRs customer service is also unbeatable

The dress is absolutely gorgeous. I wore it to a wedding, & received so many compliments. It was comfy & I was able to dance around with no problems. It's elegant and the back gives it such a WOW affect! Best rent so far!

The overall fit was true to size. I would size up in the back-up dress. I'm 5'9 and the length was great. You have to wear a nu-bra with this dress since the back is low. I also rented the Juliet & Comany Silver Lilliana Earrings which dressed up the look.

Fit true to size and I didn't need a bra which is always a plus! There's some of the sparkly material on the inside of the dress which was really itchy so I wore some high waisted spanx and it was better. I wish I owned this one!

I didn't end up getting to wear the dress unfortunately because the wedding I went to, there was a lot of dancing and moving around, and this dress although it is gorgeous is meant for a more serious no crazy dance moves event. I wasnt able to ship it back because I flew out the day I received it, or I am sure I could have gotten an easy return for it. I would recommend it to any one with perky girls who isn't self conscious about needing a lot of support in the bust. Otherwise it is stretchy and an easy fit for most any size. I love this dress and hope to find a reason to wear it in the future!

I loved how this dress looked on. The backless back really gave this dress the needed "oomph". It was a slightly bit large in the bust, and I'm not small in this area, so someone with a smaller bust may find this dress hard to wear. I definitely recommend fashion tape on the back to keep the shoulders in place. I got a lot of compliments! It was a tiny bit itchy, though. Loved the dress though!

My original choice for a NYE dress was damaged by a previous customer the day before my rental was set to start. The very helpful RTR staff helped me search for another option at the last minute. This dress worked out great. It has a very sexy back, fits snuggly and has a shimmery, metallic design to it. Perfect for a NYE in NYC. I cannot compliment RTR customer service enough. Almost a month after my NYE rental drama, RTR sent me a beautiful box of Godiva chocolates and a thoughtful note of apology for the trouble I had experienced with my rental. They know how to keep their customers loyal! Well done, RTR!

For the most part I loved this dress. My only negative experience is that the back would bunch out even with fashion tape. I wore a regular bra with an extended strap from Victoria's secret and adjusted it to it's longest setting. It came out from the bottom a couple times but stayed down for the most part.

Such a pretty dress. I would not recommend it for a wedding or anywhere you might be dancing, as there was not much give in the fabric, so raising your arms up would be difficult. It was perfect, though, for my office holiday dinner party. I wore the XS, even though the hips/butt area was snug because the shoulder width fit better. It felt like the top might fall off in the S!

Runs large, the zipper on the small was broken, but my husband was able to work with it enough to make it wearable. A little scratchy but not unbearable to wear through a dinner date. The metallic lace is gorgeous and the back is stunning. Was able to get away with no bra due to support of the stretch in the dress.

Dress was perfect for a holiday party. Top was a bit large, stretchy, but not at all uncomfortable or unmanageable. I didn't use any fashion tape. I have a long torso so the waist was a tiny bit higher than I would've loved, but overall, very pleased with this dress.

Overall this was a great dress! Loved the pattern and the sexy back. It was a great mix of conservative and sexy for my company holiday party. The dress was true to size. It was slightly tight around the thighs, but a do have muscular thighs. But dress was stretchy so it wasn't noticeable. I am short so it was a perfect length (just above the knees). I would definitely recommend Hollywood tape to hold the shoulders in place. I typically have small shoulders so if I didn't have any tape, it would have kept slipping off. The placement of the drop didn't always sit right (kept bunching so there would be gaps) but with the Hollywood tape, worked out well

This dress was perfect! I will say when I first put it on it was a little itchy and the cap sleeve didn't let me dance as enthusiastically as usually- but that was a good thing for all involved. Throughout the night I didn't even notice the material anymore, I felt very comfortable, and yet sexy. FYI: I did not end up wearing a bra of any kind. Overall loved the look and had friends who saw pictures later telling me to go buy the dress!

I love how this dress looked and made me feel (glamorous!). The dark color looks black in photos, but in proper lighting it is a dark navy blue. I paired it with a cropped black blazer from Topshop, since it was a bit cold out and it went perfectly. If I were in a brightly lit area with this dress, I would have tried to find a bright cobalt blue blazer instead. I had to buy body tape just in case I wanted to take my blazer off. The back was a little loose when my arms were down, so it caused a little slouchiness that could be fixed easily with tape. The medium would have been a perfect fit but it wasn't available on the dates I wanted. The large fit well, but was a little loose on my shoulders, which are already broad. There is some lace that makes its way inside the dress' darting which causes it to be a little itchy. If you can find a slip that won't be visible with the open back, I'd suggest wearing one. If not, no big deal, it can be overcome. (: Overall, this dress was a success. I danced all night and didn't fear it riding up on me.

Overall the fit was great, maybe just a smidge on the big side. I'm typically a small or between a 2-4 dress size. The lace overlay is black and silver, but the fabric underneath is a navy, it's a gorgeous dress. I received compliments the whole night on best dress at the party. Definitely a classy choice with a bit of sass in the back. I highly, highly recommend using fashion tape to secure the back in place, otherwise you must have excellent posture and don't get too hyphy on the dance floor. I'm beyond thrilled with my choice for this particular event. The dress would be wonderful for weddings and other formal events. If you're questioning between this one or another one, you can't go wrong with this Slate and Willow stunner.

Sexy, yet classy. Very comfortable and form fitting. I wore a backless bra because it gave me more form, but you could get away with going bra-less. Ordered S and M but went with S because it for better. The only downside was the sleeves slid down a bit as the night went on ... Probably stretches out a bit from dancing. Overall, good rental would recommend!

I have narrow shoulders so needed to put a bit of fashion tape at the back to prevent the shoulders from sliding off, but the dress was flatteringly curve-hugging otherwise. Also, you can only really see the navy color in bright daylight or in a camera flash; the black/silver lace overlay makes the dress look black for the most part. Wore with a NuBra and strappy silver sandals.

This was not the dress I originally ordered, but instead was swapped in because the extra size was not available. Still, I decided to wear this one over my original selection because the dress was so flattering. Loved the open back with the relatively modest front. It fit perfectly and, unlike my original selection, it was not too short. My only complaint is that the seams inside were EXTREMELY itchy. I got over it because I liked the dress so much, but it was itchy to the point of being uncomfortable all night.

I received this dress because the original dress I ordered wasn't available due to prior damage. The color of this dress in photos is a bit deceiving. The underneath is navy blue, with a black and silver lace overlay. The back is open, and a backless bra must be worn if you plan on wearing one. I got compliments at night, and did like the way it looked, although found the lace to be quite itchy.

The dress is very pretty and looks flattering from the front. It's form fitting, however, when I walked around, it was riding up and I had to pull it back down every few minutes. The back of the dress was flattering, but it stuck out on the sides. I agree with the other reviews that say this dress was itchy. Overall, I feel like I looked nice but didn't feel comfortable. I probably would not rent this particular dress again.

This is a very pretty dress. It's actually a navy slip under black and silver lace. The back doesn't hit as low as I thought it would so it just made it more appropriate. I have a small chest so this dress probably wasn't the best for me. The bottom half fit almost perfectly. It was form fitting and hit an inch or two above the knee. The top however was very large. I wore sticky boobs hoping that would help some but it didn't. It was gaping in the back so when I wasn't standing a certain way you could tell it was too big. Also, I had to keep pulling the dress down because the top was too big.

Unfortunately, this is hands down the most uncomfortable dress I've ever worn. I understand pain for fashion, but this was too much. It was snug in all the wrong places (both sizes) and ITCHY. When I took the dress off my skin was red all over from the irritation. This has never happened to me before. It actually caused me to end my night early because I couldn't stand it anymore. The dress itself is very beautiful. I got lots of compliments throughout the night. And the back just tops it off. Similar to other reviewers, I wore a nubra + fashion tape to prevent the back from gapping open. Long story short, if you have the pain tolerance to pull this off - go for it. Otherwise, pick another dress.
