This dress definitely runs small, so I am glad I got the medium. It fit well, but was not as comfy as I hoped.

Wore this on a business trip: all day meeting and a cocktail party. I usually wear a small and the medium was a snug fit, so sizing definitely runs on the small side.

The ruffle detail at the bottom of the skirt made it fun and cute and the neckline, sleeves and length made it work appropriate!

I listened to the comments and sized up to a medium. Slate and Willow I'm usually a small without issue- about a 4 usually potentially a 2 but even a medium in this dress was tight in the arms and the rib cage.and I'm only a 34 back size B bra size. I probably could have even gone to a large. Loved anyway got tons of compliments-- would definitely rent again but would size up to a large

Totally cute dress for work. Absolutely runs small so size up (I normally wear a 4-6 and the L was juuuust cutting it on this one). The arms and bust are definitely tight, but the material is forgiving enough that it works. Could be a little short for some but worked for me at 5'4"!

I love this trendy dress by Slate & Willow! Running true to size with no stretch, I recommend wearing your true size for your primary size and going up for your back up. This style is fitted throughout the midsection and loose at the hips. It works for cup sizes A-C. You are able to wear a standard bra with this dress. At 5’4”, the length hit mid-thigh on me. I recommend wearing tights so this dress can go from business casual to happy hour! The pattern on the dress is amazing in person and makes it a very unique piece. Pair with black heels and fun earrings to complete your outfit!

My measurements are 33-26-35, and the XS fit me like a glove -- a tiny bit tight but I think that's how it's supposed to fit. The material is stretchy, I felt a little constrained but I wasn't worried it was going to bust at the seams or anything like that. I don't think this size would work for anyone bigger than a 26in waist though. If you have broad or athletic shoulders I recommend sizing up. The black laser-cut out part is attached to a light gray netting, and the whole dress (except the sleeves) is lined in black. It's hard to tell in the RtR pics, so I took a close-up pic of the material with a white paper behind it. The netting isn't itchy, but it's noticeably not soft. The length is good for work, it rides up a little when I sit as most dresses do, but I wasn't afraid to bend over to open a file drawer or anything. Overall a cute fun dress for work, loses 1 star for the minor discomforts of being tight-fitting and not soft.

I wanted to be obsessed with this dress, but I just liked it, and maybe that's because it'd be a great work dress and I'm now an RN and only wear scrubs. Pros: I'm 5'2" and it's hard finding good mid-length dresses; this hits right above the knee for me and looks perfect! Also the cutout pattern is super cool, and it looks very chic. Cons: the fabric is on the heavier side but is not the most flattering. I'm a size 6-8 hips and 4-6 waist, it didn't really do much to show off my figure. Also definitely runs small as I got the large based on other reviews, I think a medium would've been too tight. Also not sure how it'd fit on a larger chest. Overall it really is a super cute dress, I just don't think it's cut for my shape or my preference for fit.

It's a cute dress, but the zipper gets stuck very easily and the inner lining isn't the most comfortable. Maybe sizing up would help.

I wore this for a Christmas party and it was perfect with black tights and boots. I am 5'3" and currently 130 pounds and I had to wear the size large to be comfortable in it. It is really tight fitting! I'm normally a small or xs and not sure what is with the sizing on this. I had read other reviews that said to size up so I got a medium and large so do the same!

I really wanted to love this dress. It's a great design in theory, but the execution is poor. Like other reviewers noted, this runs very small. I am a true size 4 and sized up to a medium. The other issue I had is that the pattern is off center in both the top half and the skirt (see photo). Once I noticed this, it kept bothering me. I checked the photo of the model to see if this was intentional, but the dress on RTR's model shows a symmetrical pattern and a perfectly matched top and bottom half, making my uneven pattern even more irritating. This seems like a quality control issue that the designer could easily have corrected. Disappointing.

The fabric is so much more intricate and interesting than the picture! The dress does run very small. I am a regular S (4) and am not sure the medium in this dress would even fit. Sad to return.

Very cute, but I had to size up from a medium to a large (I am usually a 4 in Banana Republic dresses). I did not end up wearing because it was weirdly tight on my upper back...? Length was good, but it was so tight I could not even lift up my arms. I gave it 3 stars... 5 starts for how cute the dress was an 1 star for fit :(

I normally order size S dresses, but RTR suggested a L. Nope. I’m not LARGE! I read all the reviews that said to size up, so I opted for a Medium. But, man… I should have listened! The M fit, but was super tight! Like questionably tight. The L would have been great, and I should have listened! Lesson learned. The fabric and style was great… just too small.

This is my fault but I assumed that an XS would fit me correctly. I couldn't even get into the dress. I'm 5'1 and weight around 100lbs. I don't know who would fit into an XS to be honest. The dress itself is absolutely beautiful and would have loved to wear it.

Short but not too short for work. True to size. It just screams quality. There are a few textiles at work that the photo just doesn't highlight well enough. Its a gorgeous dress. Wear it with boots and it works for fall/winter.

I really liked this dress. I wore it to a kids birthday party and it was the perfect "effortless chic" type of outfit where it wasn't too dressy or too casual. I'm happy I read the reviews and ordered a size up, though. I would typically be drowning in M, but this fit just right and wasn't loose at all. I'm sure I would have a difficult time fitting into the Small. Definitely size up on this one even if you never do with other clothes.

I have rented Slate and Willow in the past and you should always size up from your normal size. I could fit in a small, but it's a tight fit. I ordered this in the medium and it's perfect. The design is super fun and interesting, and the little flounce on the bottom is a nice touch.

This dress is gorgeous. You need to size up at least 2 sizes. I got a medium and it fit me perfectly. even better than the regular XS I get with this brand (XS on Slate & Willow is a little bit roomy on me, just just by an inch or two). But this medium was just perfect!

Medium was definitely the right size -- I sized up based on reviews and was glad I got the M. It was *almost* too tight, so a Small would have definitely been too small. It's a pretty dress that you could dress up for a night out or dress conservatively for work. Nothing special, but a fun style to try out. Might be a bit too thin if the weather gets cold.
