I have a very straight body so I don't have much of a waist, and there isn't much give on the waist band. The fabric is gorgeous, and the length is very classy. You can't raise your arms very well so if you really want to dance wild, this isn't the dress for you.

The armbands need to sit pretty low and tight for the back to be fitted, and the armbands are pretty restrictive of movement. If you wear a coat over this it will certainly cause the armbands to shift up towards the shoulders out of place. Great skirt, however, the bodice fits very snugly, so it really does well to hide any midsection insecurities. A nice rich color, and a textured but light fabric. The single strap was not as elegant as I would have liked (being nit-picky here) since it had the adjusting clasp at the front so you can see the single strap switch to a double strap (bit clumsy), but I don't think anyone notices, especially if you wear your hair down. I'm 5 ft 3 inches and this hit just below the knee but it didn't feel too long at all.

The fit was perfect. Very true to size. The style and detail of dress was perfect. Loved the dress. Got tons of compliments all night.

Rented this for a trip to Hong Kong, was a fun easy dress. Fabric was a little thick for the heat but I did not care because I was having fun.

I was so happy with this dress! As soon as I walked in the door I got compliments on it. When I selected it, I was worried because the reviews were mixed, but I found it to be easy to wear and an accurate and flattering fit! I am actually thinking of renting it again for Christmas Eve! As a short person, it hit me below the knee, but the straps and shoulder pieces were a good fit. The color is a bit darker than pictured. But the shine of the fabric photographs so well!!

Such a pretty dress! I love how unique the top of it is. I especially love that this look is super fun, but classy thanks to the conservative length. This dress runs true to size, & I recommend sizing up for the back up size. The full skirt allows for comfortable room for full hips. The fabric has no stretch. A strapless bra may work out best with the particular dress. Overall, this is a gorgeous dress.

The neckline was flattering and the whole thing was just plan fun. Comfortable and twirly and a nice bold color.

I wear a size 8 in Banana Republic and Loft. I wore a size 10 in this dress. My pic doesn't do the dress justice but it's the only whole body pic I took. The ruffling at the shoulders is unique and feminine. The fabric is good quality and is a beautiful color. Thick enough that I didn't have to wear a bra (I used silicone stick-ons). I'm 5'5" and it hit at the knee.

I love this dress but the fitting is kinda awkward though.

I did wear to an 80's themed party, but I would have worn this to anything else, too. The color was a bit more towards wine, than bright red. The fit was just right.

This dress was perfect for the party I attended last weekend. It was formal, but I loved that it was knee length- especially now as we are going into warmer weather. The top did run a little big- I'm glad my backup size was a size smaller. Overall, plenty of compliments throughout the night. The red color really pops in a crowd! My only negative comment is that because the top is very elaborate, in some photos it did make me look bigger on top than I really am (I have a pear shaped body- so my upper body is much smaller than the bottom).

Very comfortable all night long! Loved the tea length as well. Very stylish and classy.

I'm a street size 4, designer size 6, and I only tried on the 8. I would say the 8 felt comfortable in the bust and shoulders, but I still had room in the waist, which is my problem area. This is probably because the skirt hits well above the hips. Since I purchased, I'm going to take it to a tailor, but feel like I could have made the size 6 work. This might be ideal since it's easy to bring in the waist vs. fix the shoulders. Also, the tea length isn't the most flattering for such a short waist. I'll probably have the tailor take care of that as well. Despite all the work I'm going to do to it, it's still a good dress, as is, but not perfect. P.S. I notice one girl just put her arms through the first straps and let the lower sleeve ruffles just hang below the arms and it still looked decent. Might be something for people to try if they love the dress but want an alternative to the sleeves.

I'll echo a lot of the other reviews; the fit of the dress is a little strange. I was expecting to need the backup larger size, but my normal size fit very nicely, not even snug. I think because the waistband is pretty high up, and my rib cage isn't the widest part on my torso that the dress worked for me. I should mention that the majority of my height comes from my legs, and the length was still pretty perfect. This was a backup dress that I ended up needing for my friends wedding and I was the Maid of (questionable) Honor for. For a July wedding, the fabric wasn't that bad - the texture was fun! Even though it's a little confusing when you first put on the flutter sleeves, a huge positive is that it obscures arm pit sweat!

I really enjoyed this dress - it's a bright red shiny material but not garish. The neckline and sleeves make it unique but the length also makes it somewhat conservative. I am normally a size 6 without many exceptions - but this was tight on the rib cage. I had to size up which meant the shoulders and waist were a bit big, but fit in the chest/ribs. Wore a strapless bra. Received compliments and would recommend, but definitely make sure to get a backup size.

Runs large

The waist fit great! And the full skirt hid my less flattering characteristics. The shoulders were a bit of a mess, though. They were fine during the ceremony when my arms were down at my sides but the minute I tried to start dancing they were SUPER tight. Couldn't lift my arms up and finally had to move all the arm pieces up to my shoulders just to allow for normal range of motion. Overall good though.

Top part didn't really sit well. It was pretty though and unique looking.

Beware runs small!

Pros - the color is exactly like the picture, the flirty frilly parts are beautiful, the length is perfect for a classy look. Cons - It runs small, so if you think you'll fit a size 6, get a 10. I'm a 6 and the 8 was still too small. The side with the off-the-shoulder strap is uncomfortable. You can't really raise your arm because the frilly part is tight around the arm. It bunches on the sides, so you end up looking lumpy.

I loved the color and weight of fabric, not to heavy. But the fit/cut is very odd for a short person. I normally wear a 6 and even the 10 is unzippable around my chest. I think it's supposed to sit lower on the waist, but then it doesn't make sense. I can't even get it to a point to take a picture to share, just weird.

As some other reviewers have noted, the fit on this dress is very strange. The color and fabric are actually beautiful, so it's a shame. The dress runs very small, but also is just ill-fitting. It's short waisted, and the sizing on the sleeves is bizarre. Don't expect much arm mobility. I'm not sure exactly who this dress would work for, unfortunately!

This dress looked so lovely on the model but it has terrible proportions. While the waist and hips were a true size 6 the shoulders were more like a 0. I do not have broad shoulders at all but I could use the sleeves at all. I'll be avoiding this rtr house brand.
