After reading the reviews I ordered a size 14W when I typically wear a 16W or 18W. The 14W fit fine. The material is thick and forgiving almost like scuba material. The red is a night orange/red which was so complimenting on my warm skin tone. I received quite a few compliments and felt great in it. My only complaint was the detail slits on the shoulders showed my bra straps so I wore a red bra.

I loved this dress. It hid my mid section and made me feel beautiful. Very comfortable for dancing all night long. Also got some compliments from strangers!

Love this chic red look from Slate and Willow. Dress is a true fire-engine red. I would suggest this for larger busts as I feel like it ran large at the top. The material is soft and stretchy so its very comfortable. It flared more at the bottom than I thought it would looking at the model, which was a pleasant surprise! Definitely good for all body shapes, and even bump friendly for any Mom's to be out there.

This dress was so fun. I normally stick to blues and blacks when I order dresses, so this was fun to get something a little different. I wore it for this big event that I co-chaired. The only feedback I have is that it ran a little large. I probably could have gotten away with one size down. You also need to wear a strapless bra with it because of where the cut outs are.... but all in all, it was a fun and flirty dress.

This dress was perfect for my event. The deep red color is so pretty, and even strangers at the wedding complimented it's color! The 14W was almost a perfect fit, perhaps a tiny bit big on me but I had no problems still wearing it. It is made of a stretchy, high quality fabric with cute inner lining of a navy stripe material. The length was perfect, I am 5'1 and it reached my knees. The cutouts on the sleeves were gorgeous. Overall a stunning dress! If you are trying to decide on a second size to try, I'd say get the dress size lower than you normally wear as well as your normal size because this dress is very forgiving and a lot of curvy women would be able to fit this dress!

Rented this dress for my sisters college graduation. Dress was reviewed as running big so I ordered the 18w which is my normal size and the 20w as my free size. 18w fit perfect!! Dress fabric was soft and so comfy. Zipper on dress was finicky which is my only gripe. Other than that it was great. This was my first RTR experience so looking forward to my next one for sure!

I wanted to love this dress more than I did. I loved the color and the fabric is very forgiving, but the shape wasn't as flattering as I expected on my body. It was really comfortable for a hot summer wedding, and the color pops, but in person it felt more matronly/older than I expected. It also runs large so I'm glad I read reviews and sized down. I was also able to wear a regular bra and pin the straps. It worked for the event, but didn't love it as much as some of my past rentals! I'd give it a solid B.

The dress was perfect! It runs a little big but is so comfortable. I got a size 16 & 18 just in case, but the 16 fit ever so slightly big. The color is beautiful and it pops. I received many compliments.

I found that the fit ran a little big. I'm typically anywhere between a 18-24 and got the 22 as a precaution. The dress was super comfortable and it wasn't a hassle to put together. The color was great too! Received a lot of compliments on the dress.

I wore this dress to a cocktail fundraising event for the organization I work for. It was just the right style, not too dressy or finicky, but still made me look very put together. The fabric was really lightweight and comfortable, which is super important because I was running around all night talking to donors and helping to keep the event running smoothly. I would have loved it even more if it had pockets! I would say this dress runs true to size to slightly big. I could have probably gotten away with an 18W in this dress. Only con was that I wore a regular bra with this dress and I had a little bit of trouble getting the dress to stay put and not show through the little slits at the shoulders. I wore a nude bra for this reason.

this dress definetly runs big. i ordered my normal size and then one size down. i should have ordered two sizes down. the dress is also longer than I would have liked. however, its a pretty color and super comfortable. received so many compliments.

I wore this dress to a formal work event, but it was loose. It felt like it was almost a full size too big. I really liked the fabric though, it stayed wrinkle free all night.

Super cute and flattering cut but I could have sized down two sizes. I've never worn this brand before so now I know. Rented with unlimited so I didn't have a backup size but confident I could have sized down at LEAST two sizes. Bummer!

I had this dress rushed to me the day before I left for an out of town wedding. My original order, a different dress in a size 12 (the largest size that dress came) was WAY too small for me and unwearable. This was the only size 14 dress that was available from RTR the next day that I liked. I wanted a size 14 with a size 12 back up but I didn't have that option. When I ordered this, I didn't realize the huge difference between size 14 and size 14w. This basically fit me like a parka. This too was unwearable. I'm sure that this is true to size, but this just isn't my size. What I can say is, the dress is super high quality. I love the shade of red! This would look great with a belt and would have been really fun to accessorize.

Great dress, thick enough not to show everything but still comfortable as a summer dress. The sizing seems to be off about 2-3 inches all over. I think the next smaller size would have been a perfect fit so I would suggest ordering your backup in the smaller size. If you are full busted you will love this style, it has some stretch you can wear a standard bra based on where the cutouts are. I will definitely rent this dress again, just in the smaller size.

Fit was about a half size large. I normally wear a size 16 or 18, but the size 16W was loose. Not enough that I couldn't wear it to the event, but I could have sized down. I am 5'5" and the hem fell just below my knees. All in all I was very happy with this dress. The color really pops, great for spring! I wore it with a strapless bra as the slits on the shoulders showed my bra straps, even when using fashion tape to try to secure them behind the fabric. I didn't want to worry about it, so I wore a strapless bra instead.

Did not wear this one. This was my 2nd backup. This was a little big when I tried it on. Not very fancy and I was getting this for my company Christmas party so I'm glad my first backup fit. I usually wear an 18-20. I probably could have ordered a 20.

This is a nice quality, scuba fabric dress that runs large. The 16W fit more like a 18W, so I recommend sizing down. You could wear a regular bra with it if it fit well in the shoulders. However because it was too large, the slits in the shoulders showed my bra.

I ordered this dress one size down and it was still pretty big. There is a lot of room in the chest, and the material is very forgiving. However, it does not flatter a waist at all. I did not wear it.
