I would have personally sized down, but I am small-chested (34B). It was a little large in the armpits. If you don't want a snug fit, the S is a perfect size then

This was an okay top. Clean lines. The chest area is large and straps are not adjustable. Felt like it made me look wider, doesn’t “snatch” the waist.

Ran small and finding pants to pair it with was tough — had to be the right rise.

This is a darling little vest. However, it gaps at the top as you can see in my photos. I have a 34 D chest and it's not too big across the chest, just at the top which makes for an odd fit. I didn't see this from other reviewers so maybe it is just the way it fits my frame. It is very pretty nonetheless. Maybe I need one size down. True to size.

This is a lovely top! Super soft and nicely made. I had to pin the spaces between some of the buttons on my bust, but other than that, this is a really easy piece to wear.

Loved this top for making me feel pulled together for a dinner. Slightly tight across chest.

The fit was good, but the narrow cut at the top made my shoulders look wider than usual. Overall good piece.

Its slightly too big but the small would not have fit across my bust. It looks really good over a long skirt and a long blazer. It doesn't quite cover your bra strap, but I kept my jacket on. I wouldn't wear anything underneath it.

I love this shirt. I wore it for a work interview but then also wore it with jeans. I tried both the small and extra small. the Small was slightly bigger at the top and had more space than I wanted so the extra small was perfect a more snug fit.

Slight boxy fit and not a fitted top with smaller chest but thought it still fit good

runs a bit large in the chest so if you are smaller there I might consider sizing down!

I typically size up in STAUD so I sized up in this one too. It was very big and gapping in the back and front so I would say rent your true size! I ended up throwing a sweater over my shoulders to cover up the back gap. I may rent again in a smaller size!
