I wore this to a daytime event, and though sheer on top, i felt comfortable for the conservative event i was attending, my son's cotillion parent dance. It was form fitting yet very comfortable, a little give in the mid section, but not much. I was able to wear a normal strapless bra for support. I almost wore a black tank under as well for more modesty, but didnt think I needed it at the last minute. The top was sheer, but the flower lace pattern was heavy and I felt covered up.

Fit is beautiful! Color beautiful! Lace at arm is soft and comfortable.

Beautifully made, travels well, lots of compliments. Other reviewers commented on the sleeves being tight; they are, but I didn't have a problem raising them occasionally on the dance floor. Size 6 was a bit roomy through my waist but I needed the hips fit perfectly. Outdoor wedding where it "felt like" 35 degrees but was warm enough for a short ceremony with just a shawl. Recommend!

It fit like a glove. The sleeves restrict arm movement a little bit, but if you have no reason to put your hands above your head, you should be good. I loved this dress and easily wore a bra under it (if you have a black or blue bra, it disappears under the applique perfectly even with straps).

The dress fit almost perfectly, except it was too tight in the bust making it uncomfortable for me to move my arms. As a result, I ended up not wearing it because I knew I'd be uncomfortable all night. Otherwise it fit perfectly everywhere else. The colors were gorgeous. I may try ordering it again a size larger, although I worry it will be too large everywhere else.

Lovely dress! The embroidery is a rich blue, and I appreciated how well the lining was sewn in (rather than being a separate dress, which always shifts around & wrinkles). I got both a 6 & an 8 because my bust is small, but only the 8 fit, and I needed shapewear to make the dress fit over my hips & thighs. (The material is pretty stiff & does not have a lot of give.) Still, with an updo and black heels, it was a great, elegant look for a winter wedding.

This dress was true to size, although I personally need to come to terms that I need to change my primary size a size up. As some others mentioned the sleeves are snug, a bit restricting but didn’t keep me from dancing. The dress was snug for me around the hips which made it gather in the absolute worst place-my tummy!

I received many compliments on this dress - even from perfect strangers. The blue color is much more vivid in person than in photos. It fit true to size and was comfortable to wear. I did wear a strapless black bra with the dress. Needed help with the zipper as it is a hidden type and difficult to zip with the lace fabric. I had planned to wear black heels but decided nude shoes looked better with this dress on me. It may be due to the longer length on me (I'm 5'6") but the black shoes seemed to draw the eye to my feet. Because the lace is so intricate, I decided it only needed earrings to complete the look. I was totally pleased with this dress and would rent it again!

True to size

This dress was perfect for a chilly evening wedding. The sleeves are pretty snug but I didn't have any issues. Lots and lots of compliments! Elegant and a bit conservative, but still sexy and fun. I felt like a million bucks, and it was super comfortable. If you've rented a Shoshanna dress before, this will not disappoint!!

I wore this to a black tie optional wedding. Beautiful dress. I felt comfortable, yet flirty and fun. I was covered up, but the cut of the dress was flattering and a bit sexy. I ended up buying the dress because it was somthing that I could see myself wearing again, and the deal to buy the dress was only slightly more expensive than renting the dress. Received lots of compliments on the dress, too.

I loved wearing this dress. I am not a huge fan of my arms but it can be hard to find formal wear that isn't sleeveless. This dress fit well and was very comfortable, I had no issues with it during the night. Would rent again for a formal event!

The dress is a true fit but arm is huge so it was a little tight around the Arm, but it shows all my peace's in the right place. I'll suggest to have a good shape all around so it can look perfect.

I rented this for a charity event where I am on the younger side in my late 30s. I thing it strikes a nice balance of business and fun. It was in great shape, and at the discount offered I strongly considered purchasing.

I'm usually not a fan of three-quarter length sleeves or a trumpet skirt, but when I tell you this dress is so very very pretty on -you can't even imagine. The photograph doesn't do it justice. It's comfortable as well. It's more blue than navy and the trim on the embroidery is black so you can wear black shoes

Love this dress, nice and form fitting but not constructive. The blue is so pretty in person. Rented this during my post baby period and loved it so much I re rented it for another wedding in a smaller size and bought.

The fit will hug, but with some proper undergarments, I thought it fit well. It was impossible to zip up the dress without help because it wanted to catch on the lace. Arms might've been a wee bit tight, but it wasn't a big deal. All in all this was a great choice for for a company holiday party, and I received a ton of compliments on the dress.

I wore this dress to a Wedding in LA in February. The contrasting lace colors looked beautiful! The lace was thick enough to provide some warmth along w the sleeves in the cooler weather. I was worried about the fit of the skirt on dress on a pear shape but it was not clingy at all.

Wanted something sexy but understated for a family wedding and this dress was perfect. I usually wear a 4, but this dress in 4 restricted the movement of my arms/shoulders.i have broad shoulders. There is no stretch in the lace. So I wore the 6 and it was formfitting enough. It didn't seem too large.

I wore this dress to a conservative religious wedding where you are expected to cover knees, elbows and collar bones. I was getting compliments ALL night! This dress has an absolutely beautiful structure and weight to it with intricate lace detail. I ordered a 0 and 2. Both fit but the 0 was a little too hiphugging for a conservative event (guys - my booty POPPED). I ended up wearing the 2 which was still very flattering and elegant. Would rent this again!

Fit true to size

Got this via update and had to return for a smaller size. 4 was perfect- hugged in all the right places without feeling restrictive. Gorgeous dress for a wedding!

This dress is a nice heavy dress which is good for colder temperatures. It fit me perfectly so I didn't need my backup size. I had already rented it for a holiday party back in December and was complimented a lot on it. The only issue is that the zipper is sticky, I needed help getting it up and down once the dress was on. Otherwise, the color is beautiful and the floral detail in the lacing really made the dress. Perfect pairing with a simple pair of black heels and clutch. You can even get away with wearing a bra w/ straps as long as it's a nude color that blends with your skin tone. (I try everything I can to avoid strapless)

I wore this dress for an evening work event held at a museum downtown and received so many compliments on it all night long, not only from those attending the event, but also employees of the museum too! The dress fit perfectly and was comfortable enough to move around all evening. There is not a lot of stretch or room in the sleeves / shoulders because of the lace material, but this wasn't an issue for me at all. The zipper does stick a bit when unzipping. I would definitely rent this dress again, and wish it was in my closet full time!! If you're debating about whether to rent this dress or not, you should definitely rent it!!

This fits true to size and has a flattering fit. I'm 4 months post-baby and still have some baby weight in my mid-section. It was a little noticeable since this dress is a bit tight fitting around the waist. With the detailed flare at the bottom and sheer lace on top, there was plenty of detail to distract. The color is beautiful!

I'm short. Like real short. I was nervous that this would look goofy on me since all of the other reviewers were at least 6" taller than me. It ended up being perfect and fun. I wore this to 2 galas over the weekend where I was the auctioneer. I got compliments up the wazoo. It was conservative but the cut made it feel sexy. I will rent this again. I had to wear the backup dress. I ordered size 6 and size 8 as a backup.

The fit was more comfortable than I anticipated and worked well with my tall pear shape. My usual size 12 fit perfectly. The lace sleeves were a tad tight because of lack of give in the fabric, which made dancing with my hands in the air a bit awkward, but otherwise it was not a problem. I got lots of compliments, even from my teenage daughter and her friend!
