The was for the most part true to size . I got son many compliments the dress was so beautiful I loved it ! Simple but elegant . If you are locking for a simple elegant look this is the dress for you .

Such a stand out other than a black dress. Really easy to wear. I felt comfortable the entire night.

This dress is very pretty in person, but not a good silhouette for me personally. The style would be great for a black-tie affair or wedding. The color is beautiful and a very true blue. I think silver accessories with blue accents would complete this look and give it a nice finish. I tried on the size 4R and it fit me pretty well, although it was large in the chest and shoulders. I am 5'7" and with heels the length on the 4R was pretty good, although it was a bit short in the front. Great dress overall, just not for me.

So RTR actually made a mistake. I am usually an 8, but am only 5'4", and I had read that this dress ran large, so I ordered an 8P and a 6R. RTR sent me a 6P instead of the 8P, but luckily the dress truly does run a size too big and the 6P was flawless. I wore 3 inch heels and the dress fell about an inch off the ground. The slightly higher front showed off my shoes nicely and I didn't have to worry about tripping at all. I got so many compliments on this dress. It has pockets and is easy to wear for an entire evening. I would suggest sizing down, and if you're on the shorter side and are worried about wearing a long dress without getting it fitted, definitely go with a petite. The color is bright without being ostentatious, and the material is light but not clingy. I loved it!

I am busty for a 2P but it worked. A little tight at the top to be expected, but I felt so comfortable and got so many compliments! The pockets are a total bonus. I wore 2 inch heals (am 5'3") and still had to be careful while walking. The flow makes this so elegant. I wore it for a black tie event.

I wore this dress for a work event, a gala at a museum. The dress is quite fitted at top and accentuates one's natural waist. For those with a larger chest, the top of this dress might be too snug (I am a 34B and it was a perfect fit). The skirt is flowy and columnar, making it quite forgiving of larger hips. I loved the sublet design details: the diagonal stitching across the chest, the slight pleating of fabric at the waist's midline, the open back, and the pockets. This is a dress you can dance in all night! It also is a great "palette" for flashy jewelry, and can be dressed up with statement pieces.

I wore this to the Met Young members party and I LOVED it. My bust is on the larger side and I didn't have a problem. It was a great length with heels also (I'm 5'8"). Definitely recommend!

Wore this for an outdoor rehearsal dinner. Fits very true for Shoshanna (which usually runs a little bigger than other brands). The length just touched the ground in front, I'm right under 5'5. Can definitely be dressed up or down, wore with a regular bra.

I have a larger bust and I'm always worried about clothes fitting in the chest. I thought this fit good, I don't think it fit exactly as it was designed to but I felt great in it.

Very comfortable for a night of dancing! Love that it came up a bit in the front to show off my shoes. The pockets are a great addition but with a thin dress it will show anything that's in there. Also with my bigger pregnant boobs, the pleating under the bust in the front pulled apart a bit which kinda made me look even bigger. Also had to wear sticky bra with the open back. Lots of compliments and made me feel beautiful even when I'm feeling larger!

I loved the color and details of this dress. The fabric was good quality - not too heavy and not too delicate. Arriving in the rain was no problem, as it dried within minutes with no visible water mark. I LOVED the pockets on the dress - cute, practical, and nice for those who don't know what to do with their hands. The keyhole in the back and the subtle geometric stitching on the front added to the unique look. Overall, the dress fit well and was very flattering/forgiving. I normally wear a 4 and found the 2 was better fitting for this dress. However, this dress also ran a bit long. I am 5'9" and was wearing flats, and the back of the dress was often close to dragging uncomfortably on the ground. Other than that, I was comfortable all night and had no problem traveling (car, subway, walking, stairs), eating and dancing.

This dress was provided as an alternate. The dress is beautiful on the model and most of the other reviews. However, on me it looked Mormon churchyish. I have very broad shoulder and back, and this dress fit loose everywhere else but my arms and back. I would've needed a bigger size for my upper body and a small size for my lower body, but this is only because of my body type. It is a very simple dress and on the right body type would be perfect for any occasion. Also, I wanted to point out that the bottom front of the dress is made to be shorter than the back, so keep that in mind. My intentions was to wear sandals, because I was going to an outdoor wedding, but this dress kind of forces you to wear cute shoes, because your feel aren't hidden.

I love this designer. If you are curvy and have trouble fitting into regular size 12/14 but are too small for women's sizes, Shoshanna is the designer for you!!

The fit was larger than I expected in the chest and waist area. I could have gone with the 10. This dress is truly a beautiful eye catching blue. Perfect for work with a cardigan thrown over it! I received nothing but rave reviews. Awesome as always RTR!!!

Didn't end up wearing the dress. Ordered 2 sizes and 10 way to big. The 8 fit great waist down (currently 4m pregnant) but the bust didn't lay right, which I was actually surprised by b/c I'm fairly busty. Also thought dress was very plain looking, would need accessories to jazz it up some.

The color of the dress was very pretty and the length was great and very elegant. The top of the dress was very baggy on me (and I tried on a smaller size than normal). The top was not flattering at all and I ended up swapping the dress for a different one at the local Rent the Runway store on the same day of my event.

This was my back up dress and I didn't wear it. I am usually between a 4 and a 6 -- the 4 in this dress was huge on me. I imagine I would need a 2 or even a 0. It is very plain, but a beautiful color and material.

Great dress, though it was a little long on me (wearing flats) for walking up and down stairs. Also, found it to be a little too loose around the waist and torso. That being said, this was a great dress that gives you both a punch of vibrant color and also a blank slate to dress up with jewelry.

I rented the 12P and 10P as a backup -- it runs large. I am short (5'1") and with 2.5" heels this just grazed the floor (in the petite size). This dress is really comfortable and forgiving, and I love the pockets. The back is pretty and you can still wear a regular bra. Highly recommend!

I rented this for a black tie wedding - loved it! Color was classic enough for a fancy affair, pockets were a bonus, and the fabric was light enough to keep me cool on the dance floor. It does run a bit large. I'm between a 6 and an 8 and ended up wearing the 6P , but I could have gone with a 4. I liked the petite because I'm 5'4" and wanted to wear shorter (around 2-inch) heels. The length ended up looking just like it does on the model.

My date couldn't keep his eyes off me. Light and flowy, was great for an outdoor (hot) wedding. Easy to move in to dance the night away!

I wore this dress for my senior prom and it was absolutely perfect. I went to a Catholic high school, so it fit their strict dress code flawlessly. The dress has pockets, it's insanely comfortable (loved dancing in it), and, since I'm 5'8 and I wore 4 inch heels, the dress was the perfect length with and without shoes. Couldn't have made a better choice in picking a dress.

I am currently six and a half months pregnant and this dress is indeed BUMP FRIENDLY. Since it runs large, has some extra fabric below the waistline, and pockets, it has lots of fabric to accommodate a bump. Since my chest had gotten a little bit larger with the pregnancy, the top fit nicely. DEFINITELY get a smaller size than what you would normally get if the normal size that I would wear actually FIT perfectly when I was QUITE pregnant. Nice to know that there are options besides typical expensive maternity fare for us mommies and mommies-to-be and there are ways to work it besides getting a "maternity dress."

In normal clothes I'm a size 2, in designer dresses I usually end up having to go with a size 4. The 2R was a little big in the bust and waist region, so if you're having trouble deciding between a 2 and 4, go with a 0 and 2.

Wore this for a friend's wedding and I absolutely loved it! It's a beautiful color, a nice light yet flowy weight, and fit almost perfectly. Best of all, it has POCKETS. Two quick heads-up: On me (5'7" w/ a 34B bust) the arm holes were a tiny bit small- it didn't hinder movement at all, but was noticeable at a standstill. Also, it was a tiny bit long in the back without heels, so keep that in mind.

I'm sure that, if this dress would have fit, it would have been really pretty. As it was a petite, I expected it to be short on me...but the length was actually good, just the overall size was much too big. I'm pregnant, but only 14 weeks in, so I ordered a size up. I was swimming in this one.

While the cut makes it pretty comfortable and forgiving if you are in-between sizes, I wish there was a smaller size. The waist was very large on me, which I made a little better by cinching it with a belt. Because it runs large, it wasn't the most flattering due to all the extra fabric. It was also a tad short in the front.

I rented this for a black tie optional wedding and didn't end up wearing it. I did not like the way the dress lay having a larger bust. Would work better for anyone with a smaller bust.
