Very comfortable, good fit, easy to move in.. looks good with or without the belt it comes with

I ordered 3 different dresses before deciding to wear this one. After researching and asking military wives who have been to military functions I decided to stick to a neutral color and a somewhat conservative option. The slit in the side was high but not in an overly revealing way (though you may want to be cautious when you are sitting down). I am normally between a size 4 and 6- I chose the 6 since the 4 was not available; it worked fine although the 4 probably would have fit my waist better. I have a pear shape with much wider hips than chest and it made my body look fantastic! I would definitely recommend this dress to girls with a similar body shape or any shape really! The belt that came with the dress was too big (I contribute that to the fact the 6 was a little large through the waist for me) but very pretty. I decided, however, to wear a separately purchased gold and black belt which gave the dress an elegant, Grecian feel. I spoke with a consultant who assured me I wouldn't need a 6L because I am average height but the dress was too short with 3 inch heels-- a 4L probably would have been perfect but it was fine with me. The lightweight material made the Georgia heat much more bearable and I was overall very pleased with this dress.

The dress fit perfectly at the top and in the waist, but it was a bit long for me. I had to wear 3.5 inch heels and probably could have gone a little bit higher, as the dress still had to be held a off the ground. But the side slit helped with navigating around the length, and the overall fit was just perfect, I got tons of compliments on the dress; it was simple and elegant yet not too stuffy. Very easy to move and dance in!

It fit true to size. I'm usually smaller up top and lager on the bottom so I was worried while I was ordering it but relieved once I found out the smaller of the two sizes fit. The dress is incredible however the slit was kind of high for my I was sitting for most of the night so I had to keep holding it together so I didn't feel like I was falling out of the dress.

This dress was absolutely perfect! I wanted a dress that was elegant, sophisticated but not too "old" feeling. And this dress it! I still felt young and sexy in it. I received so many compliments and I was comfortable the whole night! I also must say that my experience with RTR was top notch! It wasn't my first time renting,however, I had a few sizing issues this time around. RTR overnighted me additional dresses not once, but twice before my event! This dress wasn't available in the size I thought I was, but when the dresses I originally picked didn't fit (I gained a few pounds this winter...opps!) and I had to get a new size I tried this one in the available size and it fit AMAZINGLY well. If it wasn't for RTRs awesome customer service and EXTREMELY fast and reliable service I wouldn't have received this dress on time... 3 hours before my event! I will never purchase a formal gown again... RTR all the way!

The modesty of the top was a perfect balance to the HIGH slit. Ladies, you must love your legs if you want to wear this dress. I wore black spanks (boyshort kind) so I didnt have to worry about it showing anything. My dress was sent sans belt, but they overnighted one to me! LOVED LOVED LOVED this dress!!!

This dress was perfect for an evening wedding. It was very comfortable and simple, yet I still felt elegant. I have only two cons: 1.) I'm 5'8" and the regular length felt a little short for me, and wished RTR has the 6L available. I decided to wear lower heals because of this. 2.) The slit on the side is super high and exposes a lot when you are sitting. I ended up pinning it to avoid any awkward situations! Overall, it was a great dress and would recommend this dress to anyone.

A family friend that I've known since I was born was getting married and I wanted to look my best. As soon as I saw this dress, I feel in love and I knew I had to rent it. I'm 5'5 and have a regular figure I would say. I ordered a 4R and it fit perfectly and came with the belt. I wore about 4 inch heels and I had no problem with the length. When I got to the wedding, everyone was in love with this dressed and said I looked absolutely stunning in it...one even said I looked like a "Hot Goddess!" If you want a show stopper dress, to have everyone envy you, and to look your best, you need to rent this dress. It was the best decision I ever done and since this was my first timing renting an item, I am definitely going to be renting more in the future!

This dress is beautiful and I felt very glamorous wearing it. I received many complements. The lace and bow details give it the sophistication and feminininity. The bow is a part of a belt that snaps on and it's very easy to figure out. Fortunately, I ordered two sizes because one dress (4R) came with a belt that was missing one of the snaps. It was very easy to walk and dance in. I only wish I had known the split was so high. It was fine walking around but when sitting, my hip was exposed. Thank goodness for the appropriate bikini underwear and a pashmina I carried.

This dress was just simply amazing. it fitted perfectly and was extremely elegant. I had A LOT of compliments and recommend it. very beautiful

Love this dress! I am sometimes a 12 and sometimes a 14 and am glad I went with the 12 - it fit perfect! I went with a regular length based on reviews but if I ordered again, I would order a long instead of a regular as the length was just a tad too short for my preference (contacted RTR for a long but wasn't available and I didn't want to select a new style as I love this dress!). I was originally a little worried about the high slit but it was great - just had to be careful with sitting (just t first to adjust). Loved the lace detailing on the neckline and on the slit. Didn't end up wearing the belt - didn't think it added much. Arm hole was a little big with extra fabric on the side. Would rent again.

Everything fit perfectly, except the strap on top of my shoulder was a little tight. But at least it was secure! I'm 5'8 and wore about 4 inch heels and the length was perfect. It came with a belt, but because it was of velvet material and the wedding was a spring/summer wedding, I chose not to wear it. Still looked good. I wore this dress for a black tie wedding and felt very elegant. Got many compliments!

This dress was perfect for a black tie wedding . It is very comfortable and the lace adds a nice elegant touch. The slit down the side is quite high, just to note if you are going to a more conservative wedding.

I usually wear a 4 and I wore the 4R and it fit like it was made for me. If you're taller than 5'2" and planning to wear 3 inch heels or greater, you may want to consider the extra length. I wore 4 inch heels and the dress was borderline short! The way the dress lays in the center is very flattering and forgiving. The lace detail was beautiful. I didn't wear the velvet belt because the wedding was in May, and it seemed a little wintery. The only complaint I had involved the belt loop and button attachment for the belt because I chose not to wear it. The button was in an inconspicuous position and I put a safety pin in the belt loop and it looked fine.

The entire experience was wonderful from beginning to end. This was my first rental, and now I expect to use RTR regularly. I got tons of compliments, felt totally comfortable, and really enjoyed the night in this dress. The side slit is a bit high, so if you think you'll be uncomfortable, simply consider pinning it. Otherwise, FANTASTIC! :)

The dress was comfortable, classy, and just sexy enough with the thigh slit on the side. I usually wear a 2 but the dress runs a bit small. The 4 fit perfectly and I am so happy Rent the Runway lets you pick 2 sizes just in case. My only complaint was the dress did not come with the belt that was pictured - but it was not the end of the world. Overall loved the dress and will be using Rent the Runway in the future!

Fit was flattering. It accentuated the right curves. The belt was missing but I had my own to recover. Length was good with 2.5 in heels. I felt very comfortable and glamorous :)

The fit was true to size, I was worried about the length I am 5'2" and the length was perfect with a heel. Overall, the experience was very easy and a pleasure to deal with. I receive the dress in plenty of time. the only problem I came across was they didn't include the sash that the dress came with, but they were very accomadating and were willing to overnight.

This was my backup, but the first choice made me look a little preggers and i'm not lol. It fit nicely around my midsection, but not constraining. I even wore this without a bra and felt comfortable. The slit on the left is sexy! I am 25 and I definitely felt grown up and sexy in this dress. The material is not shear or thin. It was ok to be walking around the city at night. It was missing a sash so I improvised and attached a bow with some ribbon I had around the house. The length was perfect and I am 5'0. I was not tripping in 3 in heels.

This was my first time renting a dress from RTR and I loved every minute of it. I was going to a Black Tie event for work and didn't think anything I owned was appropriate. I've since rented another dress and plan to rent more in the future for formal events. This was dress classy but I still felt sexy - word of caution - the slit is quit high. But I loved it. I'm 5'7" and typically a 0-2. I definitely needed the 2L - the regular length may have been short and I could hardly breathe in the 0.

I have an athletic frame, and some dresses bring too much attention to my broad shoulders, but this dress really drew the eye up with the one shoulder, which narrows towards the top seam.. The lace trim was the perfect touch to this otherwise simple black gown, and can either give off a sweet or edgy vibe depending on the accessories you choose. As I wore it in the summer, I left the velvet belt off, and didn't even bother to replace it with anything, as the dress cinches your waist in perfectly on its own. The slit was very high, but I did not need to pin it closed like some other renters, as it only hit me mid thigh. I am 5'9" and with the 6L I was able to wear a 3" heel and the dress was the perfect length. I would absolutely rent this dress again. I was very sad to send it back!!!!

The dress fit perfectly! Although, I ordered a long based on the size chart but didn't need it. I wish I ordered a regular. People are right about the high slit, I had to safety pin it. Great dress overall. I got so many compliments! Very classy.

I normally wear size 2. Size 2 dress was a little big on top, so I wore 0R. Regular length looked good, but I wanted the dress to be a little longer.

I wore this gown to a black tie affair. I loved it and received many compliments all night -- especially on the split! It did fit very tight in the waist area especially with the belt. But with a little sucking in it really cinched the waist beautifully!

Loved this dress! I rented it for a black-tie wedding. I am tall (5' 11") and am never able to find full-length dresses that are long enough for me. I picked this one based on reviews by some other tall ladies on RTR. The 8L did fit well but I ended up wearing the 10L because I was convinced it was a tiny bit longer :) The length was perfect with flats, and the larger size looked fine since the dress is belted at the waist. I wore my own belt though, because the one it came with was too loose. As others have noted, the slit is VERY high. I pinned it about 6 inches down and that worked well.

I cannot describe how absolutely perfect this dress was! I wore it to a formal work event and was looking for something classic, elegant and still a little fun. The sleek cut and classic black covered the first 2 bases and the bow, the lace and the Angelina slit add a little fun.To top it all off it was COMFORTABLE!!! The fabric made the dress easy to move in for everything from sitting to dancing! The first 2 hours of the party were spent sitting, watching a movie and the dress didn't wrinkle AT ALL. It transitioned smoothly in the dancing and chatting later. I was actually sad to send this back!

I tried to order this dress in a long, but they did not end up having it in a long for the week I needed it. The regular was too short, so I ended up wearing another gown. This dress is beautiful and elegant. I believe if you order the correct size, the slit should be tasteful because it is sewn to remain closed unless you stick your leg out. I think that a variety of body styles would look nice in this dress.

I absolutely loved wearing this dress. I ordered a 0R and a 2R and didn't even try on the second size because the first fit so well. I wore about 4 inch heels which made the dress was the perfect length. One of my favorite parts about the dress was the black velvet belt. Even though it did unsnap at one point, it added more interest to the dress than just the lace on the top and the side. I was a bit worried about the slit on the leg because I read reviews that it was a bit high but I didn't find it to be a problem. I even thought it made it much easier to walk. It was so hard to send this dress back. I would wear it again for a formal occasion in a heartbeat.

the slit IS pretty high (as expected according to other reviews) but the only time it really became a bit inappropriate was when we sat down to dinner. the sash also came unclasped very easily (it's just fastened with a snap) so that became kind of annoying at times, but other than that i really loved wearing this dress.

The band around the waist needs to be a clip, not buttons. It kept popping open! But the dress looked and felt great - especially with the Angelina Jolie slit. It was a great dress.

I got this dress because my original pick was unavailable due to complications from Hurricane Sandy. I actually ended up liking it even more than my original choice! It fit like a dream and I felt beautiful in it. People were telling me all night that I looked like a celebrity! It was very classy, but the high leg slit made it sexy too. I'm 5'9" and my heels were around 4" tall, and the length of the 6L was perfect. I'd highly recommend this dress for your next formal event!

This dress is completely stunning - I got so many compliments throughout the evening! I have a very classic style and this dress was a perfect compliment to that. The lace along the neckline and slit makes it really feminine. The slit is high, so just be aware of that. It didn't cause any problems until I sat down, then was easily mitigated by strategic leg crossing or napkin placing. When walking, it gives it a bit of sassiness, especially if you have toned legs that you want to show off! As someone else commented, the belt has no give - it is velvet - so be sure to check your measurements or order a size up to be safe. On the length, I'm 5'6" and wore the long with 4-5" heels and the length was right at the floor.

I needed a gown for a wedding, black tie affair. I looked at dresses in stores and couldn't get myself to pay $1,000 for one night! I knew there were places to rent fabulous purses but didn't know about gowns. I searched for Rental Gowns and up popped Rent The Runway. I couldn't believe it, so many perfect dresses to choose from. However, I was nervous about getting the dress only 2 days before the event. What if it didn't work? I had no backup plan. No backup plan was needed, the dress was perfect! RTR sent 2 sizes, either of which would've worked but the 4 fit so well. The description of the dress was perfect, it fit exactly as described. I had originally been afraid that I would need new shoes (2 days before the event!) but RTR tells you what height heels you need for the length to be perfect. I felt absolutely amazing in this dress, thank you RTR. I just hope I get invited to more formal affairs, RTR could get addictive.

I was pregnant when I wore this dress and it made me feel absolutely incredible and beautiful.
