It is very fitted through the hips, and loose on top. I'm not very busty so the top was more of a problem than the bottom! It was comfortable, but the tie on the shoulder would not stay tied for very long.

Great dress for my apple body shape. I wore it to a bachelorette party. I said it runs small because I have a smaller bottom half and the bottom of this dress was quite tight on me. I think if someone was not apple shaped, they would definitely need to go up a size. I didn't wear the black sash around one of the shoulders and used the provided fashion tape to hold the dress up since I was wearing a regular bra and not strapless (I was breastfeeding at the time and only had nursing bras). I used the sash as a belt to help define my waist since it was kind of lost in the larger top.

I had to wrestle a little bit to get this dress over my chest but once it was on I didn't want to ever take it off! SO many compliments! And it was very very comfortable.

I ordered this dress for my NYE event and was super excited about it. I ordered a 10 and a 12 because I read that it ran tight in the hip/butt area (and it does!) but only the 10 was available. There is NO GIVE in the fabric, so it requires wiggling to get in but looks KILLER on. The top of the dress runs VERY large and without the sash (it wasn't sent with the dress) was difficult to get it to look right. I thought about using a broach but wasn't sure about poking holes in the dress. Ended up wearing my back-up dress which I liked alright but got lots of compliments on (Share the Love Dress).

I absolutely loved this dress for the party I hosted on New Years Eve. I got tons of compliments and it was the perfect dress for the occasion. I will say that I was a little late to order the dress and when I called a few days before the party, the RTR Representative suggested that since they were out of a size 6 that I size down to a size 4. The RTR Representative was great - really helpful and offered other options and provided excellent customer service, but the dress was definitely a tight fit. It's lose on top so it wasn't a huge deal...but I really had to squeeze to get it over my hips/butt and couldn't take big steps when I walked - so I would say plan on the size you normally wear because I think the 6 would have been perfect. Also - on the model it looks like there is some extra fabric hanging down from her left shoulder, that wasn't the case on my dress. The left side of the dress was essentially sleeveless and the top fits as an off the shoulder dress. Overall though this was a great dress and I had great customer service getting it. This was my first time using RTR and I definitely am going to use it again. The dress came the day after I ordered it, delivered to my door in a really nice garment bag on a hanger. So all I had to do was hang it up and wait for the party. The packaging also came with the return bag and RTR emailed me to remind me to send everything back (which was really helpful) so when I was done I just folded it up, put it into the pre-posted packaging, and threw it into a UPS mail box. SO easy. I definitely would suggest RTR to anyone looking for a great dress and great customer service!

The dress was heavier than I was expecting because of all the sequins. Totally worth it, though. Great dress.

I rented this for my friend to wear, so I'm writing this on her behalf. The dress looked great but was kind of hard to get in and out of--there's an internal band that cinches pretty snug that made it tricky. The tie on the shoulder was necessary, as it looked kind of slumpy without it. The copper sparkles were really pretty and photographed great all night.

The scoop neck is wider than expected so it slides a little bit and the bow didn't really help it stay still. It definitely grabs your booty if you want to show it off. It's a whole lot of brown sequins when you are just holding it but once you try it on it becomes a whole another dress.

My friend ( rented this from my account was unsure about renttherunway, but she took a chance and she doesn't regret it!! We are both already looking for another dress for our formal next month

It runs rather large. I definitely had to wear the 2 and it was almost falling off. Since it is beaded it was heavy, and I don't have wide hips so I couldn't hold up the bottom half well. Still was an awesome dress and easy to dance in.

Photos don't do this dress justice. The way it drapes and folds simply aren’t easily caught on camera. That said, I absolutely love this dress. Brown can be such a difficult color to wear but the shade of the color, the sparkle of the sequins and the texture created by the reversible sequin fabric just made this so flattering. After reading some of the reviews saying that shoulders fell off I decided to tape the neckline in place, just a small piece of tape on the top of each shoulder, and had no issues with it. I received loads of compliments and felt very elegant in this at a black tie event. Heads-up: Being 5’4” with a somewhat athletic frame, the hemline came to just above my knees & the bottom did not fit as tightly as it’s shown on the model.

I rented this dress for NYE and ordered a 6 and an 8 I am 5'2 and a curvy woman, but never have an issue with a size 6 where ever I may be shopping. My bust is a 34D and the top part of this dress fit fine, however the bottom was a little too tight in that I was afraid it might not fit. However, with the help of spanks it did. It was very cute, but this dress has no stretch in it at all. I would def. rent a dress from this site again, but maybe a less form fitting dress. All in all turned out okay.

I wore this to a New Year's Eve wedding. The sequins made it perfect for that. I found that this dress ran a little big for me. There wasn't a smaller size available for such a busy night. It fit ok but I was messing with the shoulders all night. Perhaps if I was a little more endowed in the bust area this wouldn't have been a problem. Otherwise, it was a fun dress and a fun night. :-)

There are big patches of missing sequins, which may have been intentional. The top is very scratchy around the arms, especially while sitting. The bottom is extremely tight. My waist is about 33" and my hips 41" and it fit, but it was a struggle to get on and took some getting used to. I'm 5'5 and it was definitely a mini. I had some trouble figuring out how the waist and hip area was supposed to lay.

I rented this dress for my own birthday party, and it was the perfect outfit for the birthday girl! I loved the slim fit on the bottom with the loose fit on the top. The color is stunning in person and such a unique metallic shine. This will be one of those dresses I rent more than once.

I ordered this dress for a party and dinner out with my husband. I received compliments all night. The only negative comment that I have that I ordered the 2 and 4 and only one black sash came (with the 4) so I just used it on the 2.

I rented this dress for a weekend in Vegas, and it was absolutely perfect! The fit was amazing! An interior shell with an elastic waistband helps the dress keep it's shape, and I found this to be the perfect length (I'm 5'3"). The color is a very rich bronze and is very flattering to brunettes. I didn't use the black sheer tie that came with the dress, it worked just as well without it. I'd buy this dress if I had the chance, it was my favorite rental so far!

This dress was FABULOUS and I got a lot of compliments on it. It didn't come with the black decorative straps on the left shoulder shown in the photo though so dont get too excited about them ;) I let the dress hang low down on one shoulder- a-symmetrical style, since I didnt want to deal with the issue of the black strap that is there to keep both shoulders in place and I wanted it to be shorter than it fell on my average frame so i kept shimmiying the dress up to make it more sexy since it fell about mid thigh for my height but wanted a Mini. Loved it tho and ended up going with my larger back-up size since it was really fitted on the hips. Great dress though for sure!

I LOVE THIS DRESS! If I can, I will find a way to rent and wear again! This dress is perfect if you have a "swimmer" or athletic body (broad shoulders, narrow hips). I have a hard time finding dresses because I have to fit my upper body first and that means the lower body is always too big. This dress was PERFECT for me! LOVE IT!

The dress was beautiful but it was very hard to put it on and take it off because this dress doesn’t have any zippers. U literally have to squeeze yourself in.

I was 5 months pregnant when I rented this dress for my friend's wedding & it looked gorgeous! I thought I would be a 6 with my growing belly but I ended up still being my true size of a 4. The top is loose but the bottom is tight. I think I might have been too small for this dress had I not been pregnant but luckily my belly held the top up nicely! The top kept sliding off my shoulders but a safety pin in the back fixed that problem easily. I paired the dress with pumps almost identical to the model's. I got endless amounts of compliments that night & felt gorgeous! I would definitely recommend renting this dress, especially for all you pregnant moms who still want to look hot :)

I absolutely loved this dress, as did everyone at the event I wore it to! The looseness on top can sometimes be an issue if the top part isn't hanging right, but I just tied a little knot in the back ribbon and it worked perfectly!

Ordered a size 4, which is my normal size, but they didn't have size 6, which was my backup. Luckily this dress does run true to size. The skirt is snug, the top is loose, but drapes attractively. I had to tie a small,loose knot in the black string across the top of my back to make it drape well. The string was too long and the dress kept slipping off my shoulder before I tied the knot. My belly is my problem area, and this dress draped across it well, it was comfortable. I didn't feel self conscious when standing or sitting. I loved the way the dress looked on me. My husband LOVED it. I also received alot of male attention that night, it was bordering on comical. I would highly recommend this dress, plan on wearing your hair down to cover the black string across the back (keeps the dress from sliding around) minor adjustments to that string will help drape the top better around your body (remember not to tie the knot too tight and to untie it before you take the dress off) This is a stunning dress and it made me feel absolutely gorgeous, and I received many compliments.

This dress was just stunning. My only problem is I had such a hard time getting it over my busty area. I have a large top half and long thin legs. So the skirt fit amazing. I ended up taking it to a seamstress and having an invisible zipper put in to make it easier to wear. I wish the designer thought of it! All in all it as an AMAZING dress. I will be coming to RTR first before every event. I loved it! I love it even more now that I can get into it without having to break out circus acts.

This dress was truly beautiful and sparked so much conversation. I liked it for the most part, though would caution that it can billow around the stomach and you may have to adjust it slightly. The neckline was also slight wider than I would have liked, but for one night in Robert Rodriguez it was perfection.

I rented this one as an alternate and ended up going with the other choice (Quilted Shoulder Chain Dress) because my husband thought it was sexier. This dress has a lot of material and feels kinda heavy, although not too much. The way it drapes can be good if you want to hide bulges and such. If you're looking for figure flattering, I'd say choose something else. If you're looking for trendy, fun, happy, and eye-catching, this one would be great, though!

I ordered this dress for a formal Christmas party and got SO many compliments on it.... I love the silhouette of the dress and the bronze sequins are not the typical black and gold we see this time of year. I think the dress FITS true to size (there is a lining inside that fits way more snug than the dress) but because of the silhouette, it did look a little big on me because the top has a blousy shape. Overall a great dress, although I do think it may overwhelm extra petite girls.

I rented this dress for a night out. It was pretty on but a little uncomfortable to wear. The top of the dress was baggy while the bottom was very fitted. I had a hard time keeping the dress on my shoulders and found myseld adjusting that all night long. The black sash on the shoulder is removeable and I did not wear it with the dress.

So this dress was super cute...except the black sash thing was really annoying. The sash they sent was skinner than the one in the picture. And that was rather obnoxious...and the top was rather big.

I totally loved this dress in the end. When it showed up, it was slightly disassembled the shoulder tie was wrapped around the hanger and the thin strap at the back of the neck was broken on one side and I was kinda bummed because it didn't look attractive at all. However, I stitched the strap back in place, perhaps a little shorter than originally designed and it fit great after that. There was just enough stretch/snug in the skirt to be very flattering. I wore this for my birthday party and really felt like the belle of the ball. Even got some phone numbers out of it. :-) I'm looking forward to renting again!

I think this dress is actually a fantastic design, though I didn't find it to be the most flattering silhouette for my body type. The baggy fabric from the top of the dress drapes heavily around your midsection so that it looks like you have a bit of a belly. I ended up belting it and wearing it for New Year's Eve so that the fabric draped a bit higher, but I don't think it was exactly my ideal look. If you are going to rent this dress I would definitely order a size down.

love this dress! got tons of compliments. the fit was not as expected though, the bottom is a good fit, the top is bigger than the picture. i usually wear a 4/6, and i wore the 4. the dress felt great, but the top kept falling off one shoulder. the black string that runs across the back in one of the pictures is very awkwardly placed and literally runs across the top of your shoulders. i ended up safety pinning the black string lower and tighter on each side so that it laid much lower on my back and not on top of my shoulders. great dress though and i felt good wearing it!

This dress was ok. It's very pretty, but heavy, difficult to move in, and baggy in weird places. The sequins also make it kind of itchy!

Putting this dress on over my head, I wasn't able to get it past my hips! Definitely runs a little small on the bottom, and doesn't have any stretch to it.
