Dress is very small on top. But the rest of the dress is fine

Needed help zipping up the back.

Based on the reviews, I ordered and wore a size up. The dress was great, I was comfortable and received a ton of compliments.

I am 142lbs, 34B, 29”, 38” and 5’7.5” with a 31” inseam. The dress fit my busy and waist wonderfully. However, it was a bit too short to look correct. My partner also didn’t love the fact that the sleeve is baggy (by design). This has NO stretch fyi.

I got lots of compliments on this dress at the wedding. I'm usually a size 6 though, and I have small arms, but the 6 was still snug around the shoulder. As long as you know that though, its a great dress!!!

I didn't end up wearing this dress because it was a bit too tight however, well made and very flattering.

Beautiful dress, unfortunately it didn't fit me because there was little to no stretch. Would rent again in a different size though.

Classy and chic dress. Looks expensive. Unfortunately, runs a bit small. I ordered the equivalent of a 6 (my true size) and I needed the next size up. Besides that, amazing dress.

This dress is good for formal/black tie. However, it is very small! Ended up wearing the 36R even though it was still a little small. The arm was so tight, it didn’t go to my armpit but it still worked. The material has no give at all. It worked but definitely not the best.

I rented the dress for a murder mystery party - and everyone was instructed to be in vampy black clothing. So I was disappointed when the dress turned up as navy blue even though I filtered to only Black on the RTR website. I had planned to still wear it (hoping for dim lighting so no one would notice!) but even with a dress that's two sizes larger than what I normally wear, I couldn't move my arm in the arm detail. It was so tight! Perhaps with a build of slimmer shoulders it would have fit better, but it just didn't work out for me so I didn't wear it. Should also note, I got two sizes up from where I normally sit because I'm about 11 weeks pregnant and not sure what my body is doing on any given day (though I don't think my shoulders have gotten more broad in my pregnancy). The dress fit great for a newly pregnant/bloated frame - the belly and general core area was comfortable and moved with me. It was just that dang arm detail!

I ordered this dress for a black tie wedding. I ended up not being able to wear either size due to the arm sleeve being made for an actual stick figure. The dress is also more navy blue than black. I usually have amazing success with RTR, this is my first fail unfortunately and was unable to be worn.

I'm very consistently a size 2 and couldn't even begin to zip this dress. As the other reviewer mentioned I couldn't even get it over my arm. I wish RTR would add more sizing information (a size chart?) when a designer's is so inconsistent with normal sizes, or they were more flexible with exchanging items when they're so off, it's a bummer to lose 1/8th of my monthly items because I don't have enough info when placing an order!

Rented this for my husbands birthday party and I really wanted it to work but there is ZERO stretch in the fabric and it's meant for someone that has a very petite chest. I couldn't even lift my arm once it was in. If you are small chested and very skinny and athletic build I think it could work for you.
