The 36 was the only size available, and I was worried about going that small, but it fit snugly and looked great. I didn't have a lot of movement in the shoulders, but the party was a luncheon so no problem. I loved the collar and the scallops, they gave it just the littlest difference from everyone else. Also: POCKETS!

I loved this dress. It made me feel cute and chic and I got compliments all day. I wore it at law school and I felt like Elle Woods.

I wore this to work. I followed other advice and sized down (0 instead of a 2) and it was a perfect fit! Its rrally structured material. I am short which meant the dress was a good length (it might be too short on someone tall). Overall I loved it and will rent again!

The fabric and style of the dress make this a perfect outfit for work. Love the white details on the black dress which provides nuance to the basic black dress. The fabric is thick and holds its shape which makes it a great work dress. I received so many compliments on it in the office from "very Blair Waldorf" to "Jackie Kennedy". Would TOTALLY rent this one again in a heartbeat.

I loved this dress! Normally I go for more form fitting silhouettes, but I rented this as part of my unlimited and wore to a work party for my boyfriend. This picture is before I adjusted the bottom with some hem tape (I folded under about half the cream section at the bottom), which made it more flattering on me. I'm 5' 1.5" with very short legs and a long torso, and it was a great long for my taste. The waist was also large on me and and it was not as fitted on top as it seems on the model, but I adjusted that with some fashion tape as well, and it worked great. I was told by several people that my dress was the talk of the party! I loved it and would have gladly kept it!! The material is nice and thick and very structured, but it's very comfortable as well. I would highly recommend this for petite or narrow frames, even though the waist wasn't terribly fitted!

I loved this dress! I wore the dress to my Christmas party and received lots of compliments. It's a heavier sort of scuba material, I got the 44 and it was roomie and comfortable. I paired it with a cardigan, black tights and booties, red lips and sparkly earrings. I could have also done a sparkly necklace or dangling earrings (mine were posts, no dangle). The only thing was the sleeves, while short have a shape, they stand up a bit and it made it a little hard and slightly uncomfortable to wear a sweater over but I really was t all the bothered. I think I'm gonna hang in to this dress for a few weeks (under unlimited).

A classic piece that is playful yet chic. Wore this to school and received so many compliments. I'm all for dressing the part at school, take yourself seriously and others will too. For the east coasters, the fabric is thick and could be worn with tights on colder days.

Liked this look overall but dress was too short for my comfort without wearing tights, and I'm short. I loved the pockets. Collar is unfinished (like a cut neoprene) and I wish it was constructed a bit differently. But a unique look appropriate for day into night.

Great classic looking dress. I normally wear a 2 but ordered a 38 (US 0) based on reviews and I'm glad I did. Not very much give to the fabric, so keep that in mind if you are super concerned that one size down will be too tight

Loved this dress! Has pockets, fit great, and you just feel good wearing it :) fit true to size and I was able to wear it in July and not feel hot...although I wouldn't wear outside in summer bc it is a heavy fabric

This dress runs quite big. I read some of the other reviews and opted for a size up (normally 2-4), and that was a mistake. I was swimming in the 42, and probably could have used a 38. Nevertheless, the dress was gorgeous pared with black tights and boots for winter. I loved the collar and white scalloped bottom hem! Heavy fabric, A-line fit (which is why you should size to your waist).

As a petite woman, I struggle with finding styles that fit me (short girls problems). Red Valentino is a great line for petites. I am a true 00P and the IT36 fit like a glove! This dress was perfect for my friends 40th bday party. Long girls beware: I am 5'2" and this dress was a little short on me.

I ordered the 10, because I am heavy up top, however ended up wearing the 8. The waist was a little wider than I anticipated but I paired the dress with a simple black belt and it worked out wonderfully. Would order one size smaller than your normal dress size. Also dress wasn't as short on me as the model on the site.

The material was super thick and didn't have much give to it, but I appreciated the structure. The faux collar was a bit cheap looking, especially for a designer dress, but I got past that. I felt a bit like an upside down cupcake because the way the skirt was sewn on made it stick out in all directions right at the seam. Not my favorite fit, but the black helped disguise that a bit. Probably wouldn't rent again, but did it's job.

The dress was great. As this was the first time I had rented from this designer I was unsure of what size I needed. The 44 likely was too big for me but I still wore it. I am typically between a size 4/6 but given the dress flares out at the hips I did not need the larger size. I already have plans to rent another Valentino dress.

This fit absolutely perfectly! I loved the black and white contrasts and cut, super cute! It photographed very well. My one critique is that this item may be ready to "put out to pasture" soon. Some of the edges are beginning to fray slightly, and I can tell the white part used to be a lot brighter, but it has gotten darker with use and cleaning.

This dress was super cute and I was excited to wear it. It did feel big, especially around my waist which wasn't ideal. It was comfortable but I honestly thought the fabric would feel a bit more luxurious given that it's supposed to be a $900 dress. I was thankful for the length as this is something I always worry about being a taller person. Overall I'd recommend the dress, just have reasonable expectations and make sure you are ordering the right size.

This is my second time renting this piece and it's my favorite of all but unfortunately I think it's time to retire it It was very worn collar was dirty looking and the liner was falling apart Last time I got the 00 which got Perfect but they were out of that size so I went with the 0 which was a little big and not as fitted as I like Preppy put together comfortable just worn and washed maybe a few too many times

I rented this dress for my Chicago engagement photos. I paired it with over-the-knee boots to add a little fashion edge to the otherwise sweet and ladylike style. My fiance absolutely loved this dress and my outfit; he couldn't stop gushing about it. I loved it too but would have loved it more in a smaller size. This dress definitely RUNS LARGE. I'm typically a size 6 in dresses, sometimes an 8 if the brand runs small. Considering this dress' sizing is European, I played it safe and ordered 44 (= US 6) and 46 (= US 8). The 44 was loose overall, and it was most noticeable in the neck and waist. I wish I had gotten a size 42 (= US 4) instead, because I likely would have worn it. I didn't even try on the 46 because it would have been huge. I'm an hourglass/pear shape with a small waist and the dress was pretty loose in the waist and not as fitted/tailored in the bodice and waist as I would have liked. In some photos, I look thicker in the middle than I am because of the loose fit (you can see the looseness in my second photo). Previous renters mentioned the dress was too short, but it wasn't for me: It hit mid-thigh, which was perfect with my tall boots. Ultimately despite the looser fit, I loved the style of the dress and how comfortable it was (the fabric is thick but breathable). It was exactly what I wanted for my photos. I got lots of compliments! This dress can be really versatile for a variety of occasions based on how you style it, too. My order arrived on time and packaged beautifully in a high-quality garment bag. Both dresses were freshly cleaned and pressed. My only complaint about the condition of the dress is that fabric on the collar of the dress I wore was starting to separate, so from some angles it looked as if fabric was hanging down. Thankfully it didn't show in my photos. Overall: This is an amazing dress that I would definitely recommend -- just order a size down!

Perfect length, great detail around the hem. Very little stretch in the neck and waist area, although loosens out a bit in the lower belly portion.

I ordered a 46 and my normal dress size is usually about an 8. This style ran quite large and felt more like a "shift" on my waist and didn't cinch properly. I added an elastic belt and a lot of people actually thought it was part of the dress. I would suggest sizing down if you have a tinier waist.

It runs large, I ordered a 2 and it was a good 2 inches too big in the waist. You can see where it hits my long legs near the knees and on the model it is much shorter. It is also unlined which makes the seams on the boxy construction a little weird on the skin.

this is the second red valentino i returned without wearing - these dresses aren't cut for curvy women - looked cute in front but the torso was short and awkward and the dress bunched up too much on hips and back.

Love, love this dress. People dress very fashionably at my work and rarely comment on my clothes but this dress-tons of compliments! It's flattering without being overtly sexy and it's also comfortable. One thing to note: it's rather short. I'm 5'2" (on a good day) and it rested mid-thigh and shorter when sitting. It was warm so I wore it without tights but taller ladies may want to pair with tights if wearing to work. This dress is good for busty ladies such as myself.

Beautiful dress, fits perfect. I'm very Petite but this hit above my knees. Only con is that the white collar is dirty. You can tell this has been worn A LOT.

What I loved about this what the material, which I could only describe as like a very thin wetsuit? And I mean that in the best way possible. Some dressed will crease after sitting for a few hours at your desk or dinner and this held its shape perfectly! It had some stretch, pockets (BONUS!!!) and was conservative but fun. I thought it might be too short from the photos, but the length fit me perfectly at 5'6". A little large at the waist, but because of the material it didn't fall weird and still looked great.

It ran just a smidge big, but it fits very well and is very flattering. I loved it.

The material is made of good quality. The length of the dress hit just above my knees.
