Loved this gown! The wool blend gives it a substantiality lacking from many other dresses, while the sequin detailing and split make it just fun enough. Adored it overall. I will note that it is a bit tight, especially in the bust, and that the sequins irritated my arms by the end of the evening. Other than those minor issues, it was fantastic!

The dress was really formal, elegant, and brought in just enough sexy! It was for my Bishops 30th Anniversay and it needed to be classy but still beatiful. The dress nailed it. Showing just the right amount of skin! Dress was comfortable and since I am a 38DDD I had to go up a size to accomodate. Overall GORGEOUS! Thanks RENT THE RUNWAY!

Love this gown! Fitted through the bodice and hips, and a nice slit that kicks out when you walk.. Very regal. Love the sequins and the material of this dress.

I was a little nervous to pick this dress because there weren't any other pictures or reviews to base my decision on. But I rolled the dice and went with a size 4 and a size 6. The 4 was the perfect length and fit. It maybe doesn't photograph well, but in person, it's amazing. It's a classy, timeless dress but the sequins give it a little bit of an edge. I'll definitely use Rent the Runway in the future!

Loved the dress. Was very flattering. I did not feel under or overly dressed and the dress looked of great quality. Was a bit snug around my bust. If you are full busted, this might not be the dress for you.

I'm 5'3" and wore 4 1/2" heels and the gown was still over an inch long on me, but some removable hem tape did the trick. This material was super easy with that. Other than that it fit like a glova

This dress is so lovely. It falls in all the right places, and looks very sophisticated. I ordered this dress when it didn't have any reviews, so I called RTR to figure out the fit details. Since the dress is a silk-wool blend, they suggested ordering up for the backup size given that it doesn't stretch. They also suggested getting long versions. I ordered a 2L and a 4L, but for my height, both were WAY TOO LONG! I'm 5'6, wore 4.5 inch heels, and still had to use hem tape to take 4 inches off the bottom. So unless you're close to six feet tall, I'd suggest getting the regular length. Also- it runs large. I wore the 2, which was alright, but I really should have worn a 0. Otherwise, it's a comfortable, elegant, and beautiful dress. A night to remember!

I loved this but ended up not wearing to event bc it was very long and would have required me to wear very high heels all night that wear not conducive to dancing.

This dress was elegant and classy without being over the top and I felt comfortable and beautiful the whole night! I have larger hips so I sized up. The bodice on the size 6 fit perfectly but the fit was too tight around the hips and butt so I sized up and it still looked great and showed off my shape. The fabric is comfortable. I wore about 3.5" heels and the length of the dress was perfect, which I was slightly worried about. The dress was comfortable, and based on other's reviews I put glide under my arms so the sequin details wouldn't rub my skin.

I'm usually a 6, but after reading reviews, say this runs a bit small. I ordered the 8, and it fit perfectly! I received so many compliments on this dress. Classy and elegant. Loved it!

I ended up with the 2R even though I usually wear 4R and it was a perfect fit. Dress was simple, yet elegant with just the right amount of sex appeal in the front slit.

This dress was perfect for a black-tie dinner that I had for work. The coverage was appropriate and the slit in front didn't go up too high. It is a little long - I am 5'2" and wore 4 1/2 inch heels and the dress was to the floor and almost dragging. I got both the 8 and 10 and while they both fit, I went with the 10 for a little more room and ease of getting the zipper up myself.

I loved it, but I ordered a 14L and it was too tight across the chest. Fit great everywhere else and was long enough. I was so bummed I couldn't wear it.

I rented this dress for a ball. I kind of threw it into my cart last second when I realized I got a discount on a second dress. Thank goodness I did because both sizes of the other dress I picked were too small. This dress runs true to size, and it's gorgeous. The top is glitzy, but I loved that I was covered up. I work for a public official, so I always try to dress somewhat modestly. I got tons of compliments on it. My only comment would be that if you're tall like I am (or taller), you may want to go with a long size if you want to wear heels. I wore flats with the regular length and it was just right.

This dress was pretty, but I have rented better ones in the past. It mostly fit well, except the bust was too tight. I liked the slit, and the flow of the gown. I liked how it looked but probably wouldn't rent it again.

This dress was a stylist pick after my back-up option was unavailable. As others have commented, this dress runs very long. At 5'7" with 3.5" heels, the dress was an inch too long. The dress is quite fitted through the waist and hips so this isn't a good choice for someone with a long torso. Given the option, I would have tried the 2R.

It does bunch up around the middle as another reviewer had mentioned. Overall it is fine but nothing great.

I chose not to wear this one because it is not as comfortable as my other choice. It doesn't have any stretch. I am slender but have a big butt so that is not my favorite style for comfort. Besides that is was very pretty.

this dress is a true 6 and was too small for me. it also is incredibly long. 5'8" and 4" heels and it would have still been too long. the fabric and is high quality - the sequins are a bit cheesy given the otherwise sophisticated styling.

I didn't end up wearing this dress (I ordered it as a back-up), but since there aren't many reviews, I wanted to share my feedback. It is a great black dress, but nothing special and not quite as structured as I thought it would be. Looks lovely on and the slit helps spice it up a bit, but the fit is definitely large. I'm usually never smaller than a 2, and the 2 was too big at my waist, where it needed to cinch in. I'd recommend going down at least one size, and renting if you're looking for a solid black dress that isn't overly fussy!

Got the dress for a wedding and unfortunately couldn't wear it. I am normally a 12L but if you are curvaceous, it'll fit a bit snug around the hips. Definitely recommend going a size up for backup size.

The dress runs small . I sized up based on the reviews which was great. I'm 5'9 and the long was the perfect length.

I rented a 6L and 8, anticipating I'd need the long -- if you are above 5"7 definitely get the long, you'll need it. The cut of the 6L and 8 were totally different, the 6L was a little snug on my hips but the 8 was giant, I'm not sure if I just got two differently worn/stretched from wear dresses or if there really is that big a size difference. I typically wear a 4-6 but in this case I doubt I could have squeezed into a 4, I'd recommend ordering up a size. Dress overall was comfortable to wear, I wore to a work event, but like the other reviews I read say, there isn't any give in the material.

This dress was my 4th choice because nothing else was available since I waited a bit too long to reserve. I thought the dress was elegant, but I wouldn't rent it again. I have big hips/booty and the dress was too tight through there. As a result it bunched in the waist. I would not recommend this dress if you have a pear or hourglass shape. The dress was also a bit silky so it keep twisting around as it moved over my spanks. The sequins are pretty but they rubbed on my arms and left some chafe marks. The length was perfect. I wore with flats without issue. I'm sure this dress is perfect for others, but just wasn't for me. I cannot wait to order from RTR again. That process was smooth and easy.

This dress is a nice upgrade to a basic black dress, but unfortunately it's better suited for straight shapes. If you're like me and have an hourglass figure (larger chest, small waist, and wider hips), this dress will not flatter you. The dress just looked boxy and did not accentuate my figure at all. To be fair, this was a last minute order and most of the dresses I would have preferred were already rented.
