This dress was beautiful. The gold lace is so intricate. The contrast between the gold and black were so elegant. Cons: a little short on my 6 foot frame. Also the sleeves had oddly placed zippers on wrists that were still baggy. By the end of the night, the 5 hooks on the lace started buckling. But overall a stunning look for an anniversary weekend in NYC

I received so many compliments I lost count. Everyone was shocked to find out I rented and for the amount I paid. I do feel my butt was a little too big for the back because it kept puckering up in the back a little but I would just pull it down. I am very hippy so the 10 would have been too small. I just wore nipple shields instead of a strapless bra. You would have been able to see the top of the bra through the lace and I didn't want to draw attention to it. Also the earrings I rented matched perfectly! I felt like very glamorous!

Too big around waist, kept riding up and very tight across the shoulders. Was not able to connect clasp, ended up tucking it in and securing with safety pins. Still looked beautiful.

I wore this for a formal work charity event. It was a cold night so kept me warm and was also very work appropriate because of the length.. I got a MILLION compliments on it. I just had a baby this year and I'm still trying to lose some weight so I felt awesome in a size 4 but it definitely shows EVERYTHING so you need to wear spanx if you are worried about that. Overall good choice!

Rented this for an annual holiday party I host for my staff and guests. I typically wear a size 10, but it wasn't available. Received sizes 8 and 12, instead, and was able to wear the 12 although I feel the size 10 would have fit perfectly. Very true to size. Although the description states the fabric is silk, it feels more like a heavier-weight stretch jersey. I had to almost drench the hem with Static Guard to make it hang well. It wrinkled a bit during the course of a long evening, but not excessively. I'm 5'5" and the hem was right at my knee. Very appropriate for my age and the event. There's a sheer mesh lining under the gold lace, so a flesh-colored undergarment is not noticeable. There's a very slight flare from the waist to the hem, which is figure-flattering for those of us who aren't model perfect. I received compliments from all, but not sure I would rent again. It's an elegant, conservative, appropriate dress for a corporate event, but I'm not in love with the silk that feels and looks like a jersey knit (with a sheen).

The dress looks so great in person and in pictures. The only problem would be the back where maybe if you don't have a completely straight figure, like I don't... the part where the gold lace meets the black silk pokes out awkwardly. This is really fixable with a lot of double sided tape or fashion tape! It's so comfortable and kept me warm in 30 degree weather. It's a nice length right above my knee. I suggest maybe wearing spanx underneath to keep everything smooth. I would definitely buy this dress if I could!

The fit was amazing and very tailored to your body. It was a perfect dress for a winter wedding.

I was not too fond of the zippers on the sleeves but it was not that noticeable, especially in pictures. The length of the dress was perfect and the material was soft and comfortable to dance the night away.

I usually order a 4 and a 6 as a back-up, since designers size differently. This must have been a particularly busy weekend, as this was the only dress I was interested in which was available, but only one was left, a size 4. I spoke with a very helpful stylist who felt that since this dress was a little bigger in the bust (which is usually my problem area) this size 4 would most likely work. Unfortunately, there was not enough room. I could squeeze in with a tighter bra, but the back hooks (closures on the gold lace) pulled and looked unattractive, a real stuffed-sausage look! That said, the dress was very elegant and appropriate. Someone had hemmed it and left the hem in, which would not have been a problem for me, as the resulting length would have been perfect for me, but would have had to be ripped out and steamed flat by someone a couple inches taller. I found that any bra straps showed (ivory, tan or nude), so maybe this versions of the dress had thinner lace than others (but lace was in good shape and didn't look cheap). The dress did not appear to wrinkle much (right out of the box it looked fine), and the black silk may not have had as fine a "hand" as some heavy silks I've seen, but I didn't think it looked cheap. If it would have fit better I would have definitely worn it. I now know to order the 6, I'm sure it would have been perfect. My measurements are 35.5" x 28" x 36". I would have had to wear a light hold high waisted shaper for the size 4 (had the bust worked) but probably would be just fine without one in a size 6. The black silk is heavy enough that it wouldn't show every imperfection as long as the fit is appropriate and not too tight.

a friend may need to help you clip up the back of your dress, but it was definitely worth it! the details and closeness of the dress were super flattering. overall, totally awesome.

The dress is absolutely gorgeous and the fabric is so soft. The problem was that it was much too tight around my hips. Fit perfectly everywhere else but I would have been tugging on it the whole time I wore it because the snugness around the hips would have made it crawl up when sitting. I may try this dress again if I lose about 10 pounds!

For a "mature" woman such as myself (55 years old), the dress was a little tight across the tummy but fit fine in the shoulders.

This piece was super classy and really stood out from the trendy outfits other young women were wearing at the party. It was comfortable and flattering, I felt beautiful!

Beautiful dress with many compliments. You really need to have someone available to help snap the upper gold lace portion. Since the body of the dress is very fitted, I found it hard to raise my arms high enough to close the delicate hook and eye on the lace section. Runs true to size. I'm between a 10 and 12. The 12 was a bit more comfortable so went with that size. You may also like having some Hollywood tape around to secure the top lace portion to your shoulders since the dress seemed to stick out a bit in that area.

the fit was tight around the waist and tight around the shoulders. If you have broad and square shoulders I dont' advice you to rent this dress. My husband talked me into wearing it eventhough it was tight all over. I had to keep pulling it down.

The dress is gorgeous. It looked shorter on me than it looks on the model. I wore the larger size because on my size the zipper on the back would bend and look awkward. It has some zippers on the wrists.

FIT: Fit true to size. Curve-hugging without being slutty, and the longer length and long sleeves make this just a tad classier. Must wear a good strapless bra (though the gold lace will hide one of those clear-strap conventional bras). I wear between an 8-10, ordered an 8 (did not have a back-up size). At first I thought the sleeves/chest would be a bit too tight, but it was just the right fit. Top is slightly more generous/ forgiving than the waist/hip, so keep in mind if you order. The 8 was form fitting in ways that felt appropriately snug; the 10 may have been too baggy in those regions. ;) DESIGN: The lace has a definite gold glitter thread interwoven, so although the style of the dress reads more mature, the glitter thread counterbalances that aspect. Also, there are tiny little zippers around the wrist area of the sleeve...why, I'm not sure; I certainly had no need to unzip the cuff and think the dress would look strange if the cuff was unzipped. The dress did have some stretch to it as described in other reviews, but certainly not a lycra/jersey feeling; it still looked like and felt like a dress that was fitting to the black-tie optional event I attended. OTHER: RTR service fantastic as always. This would be a great dress to wear as a young professional in the company of older professionals, or to a really fancy but more mature cocktail reception. Colors are definitely black and gold, so great for sports

I loved the design of the dress, but the waist sat too low for me since I'm petite, the sleeves were also too lose and too long on me. The lace part didn't lay flat in the back, the fabric between hook and eye closures bulged up, had to leave my hair down to cover it. I still think it's a beautiful classy dress. I imagine it would look great on someone tall.

Very pretty dress but the fit is off. It runs very small on the top and baggy on the bottom. If you have any bust at all The lace cuts you off in a really weird spot. I really wanted to love this dress but it just didn't work.

I was very disappointed to not be able to fit my body in this made-for-perfect-body-only dress. My bust was comfy was my arms and hips were not happy, especially when I sat down. It fit but I felt uncomfortable walking up to the stage (I rented this dress for an award ceremony) in the clingy dress and sadly had to return it.

I was not impressed with anything about this dress. Fit is off and construction is surprising.
