This dress is really a blast to wear. It is not a blast to get on, however. The zipper is cheaply made, and required two people to zip over the seam. I would not recommend this dress for someone with a broad back and/or big chest. I have both and had to size up from my standard size 8. Once on, however, no complaints. The pockets are small, but a place to put your hands. It hangs well without making you look bigger. The neckline is very nice. It definitely needs jewelry.

I know this dress looks wonderful, fun, classic, and perfect...but it just doesn't work. I wanted to wear this dress for an event so badly. But it didn't happen. I normally wear size 6-8 so the stylist recommended size 42 with a 44 backup. The size 44 was tight, but do-able. What didn't work were the shoulders. I do not have wide shoulders, but the dress would not lay flat as pictured on the model. Perhaps if I'd had a larger size they would have, but the fit in the bodice was perfect, so I'm not sure that would have been an option. Also, the lining of the left sleeve had been pulled out and would not go back into place. I tried tucking it in but it kept working back out. I must recommend that you forget about this dress. It will only disappoint.

WOW did I feel like a princess in this dress! The structure of the top and the quality of the fabric added to the look. The pockets are as awesome! It was a little long on me but I am 5'5". THIS DRESS RUNS SUPER SMALL! So beware... order a size (or two) up to make sure you can zip it. I received complements ALL NIGHT and was comfortable enough to spend the evening on the dance floor. I wouldn't have picked any other dress for my event!

Read many warnings in the reviews about it running small and it definitely does. I ordered the 42 without a backup (not by choice--it was holiday party season and all the other ones were booked!) so it was a bit of a gamble. It ended up fitting perfectly, if maybe a little tight in the shoulders and arms. The dress has great structure but not a lot of give. The length (on me) was probably longer than intended and pictured on the model but still above the ankle. Overall, fantastic dress.

This is definitely my favorite dress that I have ever worn. I felt stunning, and I got compliments all night. Based on the reviews, I went up by two dress sizes (the 10 was the only size available anyway), and it fit perfectly. If you want to feel classic and beautiful, rent this dress. :)

Loved this dress. Very heavy material, felt very formal. Good option for someone my height (5'1", so I can't really wear any gowns from RTR). Had trouble with the zipper, but once it was on, I felt great all day.

Definitely order a size or two or three up from your original. I normally wear a 2 and I wore a 6 for this event. Even at 2 sizes up, I needed three people to zip me into the dress. Getting the zipper over the seam was impossible. Everyone complimented me on this dress so it was beyond worth the purchase!

This dress was absolutely gorgeous. It was very elegant. The fabric was top notch and the design was just amazing. It runs VERY small. I am petite and typically wear a size 0 with a larger bust. The cap sleeve were tight and a bit confining. The chest and waist, which hit at my natural waist, were also tight. Also being only 5.0" it hit at my ankles as opposed to mid calf/below the knee. I would have been more comfortable going up one size. With that being said, it was the perfect dress as long as you order the appropriate size.

To echo all the other reviews, this dress is GORGEOUS. But the sizing is way, way, way, off. I normally wear a size 0, but based on the reviews, went two sizes up, and got the 38/4. Even that proved too small, I could not zip it past the seam, which is crazy because I am also an A cup. The dress was SO lovely though, that I wore it anyway, just open in the back, and tucked the zipper in to make the dress look like it had a very open back. It worked! But honestly I know most people would feel uncomfortable doing that, so I would say if you're going to rent this dress, go at least two, if not three sizes up and be prepared for it STILL to not work. It's too bad, the dress is STUNNING.

yes. this dress runs small. i wear a 2/4 in places like the Gap and took a size 40, which is closer to a US 8. no vanity sizing here. and it fits tightly up top, with a couture-like boned bodice. the dress is a bit longer than as seen on the model. but otherwise it's stunning. absolutely amazing. the only complaint i have is that the bottom hem was a bit bumpy from being dry cleaned one too many times, and you could see some dry cleaning unevenness in the skirt.

I loved the picture of this dress and was worried when I read all of the reviews. I ordered the 10...I'm normally an 8. It fit perfectly...you need someone with you to zip it up...it was difficult to zip...but once in it was gorgeous. Amazing fit, beautiful fabric. One note...I was surprised by the length...I'm about 5'5 and the dress was almost to my ankles...I was picturing it being right below my knees. Loved it - just order big!

This dress runs VERY small and the cap sleeve-to-bust fit / ratio may not translate well to all body types. On the positive, it is a simple, elegant gown - classic Hepburn. If you like the style, arm yourself with multiple size options.

I did not end up wearing this because it restricted me from wrapping my arms around my fiancé. The sleeves and chest area were just too tight and this was my one size up safety dress! Oh well. You win some, you lose some. The model looks great in it! Ha.

I typically wear a 0 or 2. I ordered a 2 and it wouldn't zip at all. The arm holes are insanely small to boot. I reorded a 6 and that was also very small; I could only zip it with the help of 3 other people! I'd say the 6 fit like a 00 usually fits me. Gorgeous dress, but impossible to know what size to oder given how off it is. Hopefully RTR will modify this to be true to typical American sizes.

I wish there had been a customer review before I rented this dress. It is gorgeous and has a nice heavy material that makes it perfect for cooler weather events. I was so looking forward to wearing it, but that proved impossible. I rented the 10 (the tag actually said 12) and I could not even get the dress up on my shoulders to attempt zipping. I would strongly recommend going up at least 2 sizes (especially if you have large breasts or athletic arms) as this dress runs extremely small.

The dress fit well everywhere except in the arms! My arms are not toned these days, but even so the cap sleeves were so tiny I'm not sure who they would fit. In a size 10 dress you would expect a little more room! It was an absolutely gorgeous dress and I would have loved to have worn it.

I am normally a size 4 and sized up to a 40 based on the other reviews. I would have needed at least 2 more sizes more to even possibly zip the dress. I have a very small bust (34 A) and so that was not the problem. It was a beautiful style but the sizing is just off all the way around. Thank goodness this was my back up dress because there was no way it would have worked. Consider sizing up a minimum of 2 sizes but realistically at least 3 sizes larger!

I sized up 2 sizes to compensate for a large chest but this dress still didn't fit. I couldn't wear it.

Gosh, this dress is beautiful. I wanted to wear it very badly, and was sorely disappointed by it. I'm not sure it would have fit had I ordered 2 dresses sizes up. A huge bummer.

I rented this dress for my brothers wedding and was excited as it looks like such a fun dress. I rented the 38 and 40. I tried the 40 on first and couldn't even zip it up. It fit incredibly awkward. Very small around the shoulders and the waist was higher than I thought. I'm normally a 4 or 6 but in this dress, I'd probably be a 10.

This dress ran very small. Thankfully the website had this information so I am normally a 4 but I ordered a 6 & 8 and ended up wearing the 8. It is a classic silhouette and takes the LBD to the next level. Loved it!

I was nervous to order this dress due to the other reviews (it runs small), but from the moment it was zipped I loved it! I sized up appropriately and needed my sister to zip it since the bodice is very stiff and snug. It also felt very formal and I ended up wearing my back up dress for the movie premiere we were attending that night. I'm hoping for another occasion to rent and wear this lovely dress!

I am a size 36 and the only size available was the 38 so I thought I would give it a shot? It was not even close to fitting. The top part was so ridiculously small only a 10 year girl could fit in this. If it becomes available I will order a size 42 for it to maybe fit!

This dress is beautiful and I wish I could have worn it. I wear a 0-2 and was advised over the phone to order the 4 (38) and 8 (42). No chance of zipping the 38. The 42 was a little tight still and maybe could have worked, however the dress reeked of body odor from the person who wore it before me. Was not wearable. Makes me question how well these dresses are cleaned. Very sad that I didn't get to wear it because this is the only winter wedding that I will attend this year and I had to go out and buy something last minute.

Unfortunately, every single review about it is correct - not only does it run small, but it fits very awkwardly. I sized up 2 sizes and the bodice fit perfectly, however the arm holes are small and unflattering and the neckline would not lay flat. I ended up not being able to wear the dress to the party. Just looked too odd.
