You do need a tank top or something like it for the top, but the bottom is layered and heavy. Sleeves are long and flowy.

Rented this with unlimited (I was curious what a $1500 dress felt like :) it didn't disappoint... it is so beautifully made and feels expensive!! It's not a "flattering" dress, but perfect for beach night out, it has a soft, bohemian feel, loved the hood and fun strings. A camisole is definitely needed underneath, unless it is worn as a cover up- would also be perfect for a pool party!!! Loved!!!

Loved the idea of it, but wasn't my color. The beads at the end of the tie were heavy and bulky. Would hit things and make a noise. Not the end of the world just annoying lol

Pretty sheer! So you need a slip and probably a tank. BUT SO FUN!

Kind of between a dress and a coverup, which was great for a boho chic beach club in Greece where I wanted to be a little dressed up (and a little more covered than some of the younger crowd). Wore over white strapless bathingsuit which addressed the fact that it is very open on the top and somewhat see through. Also, it is surprisingly heavy and hot when not in the shade, and a bit too big but the side ties gather the waist which helped. Overall fun option but limited occasions to wear it.

I don't see how this could be worn for anything besides a beach cover up, but it's fun as it is. Also very pricey for the material. It's kind of itchy if worn too long and in the heat on the beach. It'd be better for a cold day on the beach maybe?

I love this dress but I ordered a size 6 because I thought I had gained some weight but maybe I will re-order it in a four I am thinking about buying it. It's a great beach/pool dress that looks really nice after if you want to grab a bite Or go somewhere public without looking too casual.. Both casual and dressy.

This dress is a great example of why I love RTR. It fits into my boho style, but at $1,000+ retail, is totally out of my price range. It was so much fun to wear and was perfect for a night out in SoCal. The top is 100% see-through, so a camisole is necessary.

From the photos, I was so excited to rent this. I was disappointed. It runs big and looks sloppy. Definitely have to wear something underneath the top half.

I rented this for a vacation and the dress was too heavy to wear to the beach. It is very sheer so i thought it was good for a cover up but too much material and strings it was pretty cumbersome

Great quality! Good for multi wear at the beach.

Not flattering in a petite person

This thing is huge and really more of a beach cover up than a dress. Detailing and fabric are lovely, but not really flattering or appropriate away from the water. Since it was shipped to my vacation spot, and I had nothing else, I made it work.

Really loved the easy boho vibe of this dress! After reading reviews I was only planning to wear poolside. It's very sheer and short (I'm 5'10") which actually made it perfect for wearing poolside. I rented the similar dress in the children's side for my daughter and we had a fun "mini me" pandemic weekend poolside at home!

Love this designer. Size down it runs big. Wore with a cami underneath. Special dress.

I had been eyeing this dress for quite some time, and was so excited when it became available. It's very beautiful, don't get me wrong, but not as great as I had anticipated. Because the style is oversized, the arms kept falling off my shoulder. The material just didn't feel as nice as I expected. I did end up wearing it twice (a day on the boat, and once to work with a white tank underneath). Great dress, just wasn't totally to expectations! If you're in between sizes, err on the smaller size.

I'm 5'2 & petite/athletic and this just didn't work well on me. The fabric swallowed my frame. Looked great in my taller friend who tried it on though!

I rented this as a potential swim cover up for a family vacation to FL. The material was super thick. The fit was not flattering on my body, I decided to not even to use as a cover up. Would maybe look better with a white tank under as pictured on the model, but for me it wasn't worth keeping.

I wanted to love this, and in fact, ordered a 48 at first since it was the only size available and I wanted it so bad for vacation. When it arrived, it was ENORMOUS. I sent it back and was able to get a size 42. It fit perfectly, the only problem is, it's completely see through. You'll need a full slip or tank top and slip to wear it. Makes a perfect beach cover-up, but I intended to wear it out for dinner.
